Spangles is a 50's (I think that's the era) themed diner. We stopped to look for some ice cream one evening. We were not disappointed in the selection and quality of the ice cream choices we found at Spangles. We were so excited about the ice cream, we came back the next morning for breakfast. The breakfast bagel, which is available all day, was quite tasty and refreshing. We've been missing bagels since they've been removed from McDonald's menu. While some might find the pictures from this era depicting women to be rather offensive, I don't think anyone can disagree that a place where you could buy 99 cent margaritas and a half dozen mini donuts is not a place worthy of visiting. Which brings us to our third visit in the week we were in town. We got the 99 cent and the 3.99 Margarita, AND the half dozen mini donuts. All three were found delightful and worthy of our time. During each of our three visits we were greeted in a very friendly manner. Your order number is your first name, and the staff is very courteous, using your name rather than just yelling out a number. Kind of made me feel like we were all friends. I certainly suggest visiting Spangles anytime of day. Definitely stop and get your picture with the plastic, life sized Elvis!
Just passing through on our way home to Missouri. Burgers were excellent. They were friendly and very considerate in helping choose food because of a soy allergy. Sweet tea was great! The All American Deal was a great buy (burger, fries, drink, ice cream).
I wasn’t expecting much when my family decided to try Spangles… was expecting blah greasy food. I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t that way at all. The French fries looked like they were over cooked but were crispy & lightly seasoned. Burger was super thin and looked burnt, but wasn’t. Their BBQ was ice was good for dipping fries & burger in. And best part, no stomach problems later.
