Terrific High End Dining
Totally loved everything that we ordered, from the perfectly prepared patatas bravas to the trout, which happens to be the state fish of Utah. The service was outstanding, as was each item that we sampled at this lovely restaurant, which features a nice patio for outdoor dining. This is great for a special occasion or a date night, or even a family dinner like ours. I hate onions, but I love the Copper Onion!
Come here and get the beef Stroganoff. It is insanely good!! This place has got great vibes, great food, and great service. A must visit in SLC for sure.
The Copper Onion was recommended by a Hertz Rep at the airport...she wasn’t wrong! The food was great but outdone by the awesome service & attention we received by Brennan...he was wonderful and rounded out our dinner to perfection!
Glorious food and great service. I had the burger and it was one of the best I’ve ever had—so much flavor, so much depth. Nothing overpowered anything else, and it all worked together well. Husband had the pasta carbonara, which was rich but still somehow managed to be light (yes, I’m aware those are opposites), and again, had so much depth to its flavor. Good flavor profile. Steak fries were okay, bread was okay (honey butter was great, though). We’ll definitely be back.
Also I’ve noticed that when I decline drinks, at certain restaurants, the server will give subpar service since they aren’t expecting a big tip. We didn’t have drinks, apps, or desserts, and the service was still impeccable. Good job, Joel!
Very busy and popular place in SLC with warm and welcoming atmosphere. This is the place that for the first time in my life I absolutely enjoyed brussels sprouts - dish called Brassicas 😋 - must try! We had pasta dish, sadly we all went for the same Wagyu beef Stroganoff pasta which was really delicious but didn’t give me the chance to try nothing else. Beef tartare was fingerlicking.
They also have an excellent wine list and Irish ☘️ coffe 😉
I’m currently obsessed with a restaurant in Salt Lake City called The Copper Onion. I’m actually so obsessed with this place that it could just be my favorite restaurant in the US right now. If it’s not, cause we’ll I’d have to think long and hard about all the restaurants I’ve been too and looking forward to going to in the USA to really say that for sure (and I can’t be bothered)… So I’ll leave it as, The Copper Onion is ONE of my favorite restaurants in the USA right now.
Great ambiance, prompt service, and very good food! It's a fairly nice place but not too nice for the server to offer up crayons and paper to my 3 yr old. I arrived thinking I would order fish but then I decided that a burger was what I really wanted. The arugula salad was solid but the burger blew my mind. The bun was fresh and delicious, the meat patty was fresh, tender, and wonderfully flavored. The caramelized onions and melted Swiss cheese sent it over the top. This is the best "gourmet style" burger I've had (or at least the best I recall) and it only cost $13 including the arugula salad. I'll definitely be going back to The Copper Onion.
Great local place! A bit pricey but worth it. I loved the Beef Stroganoff. When I was given the recommendation I thought of mediocre cuts of meat, and gooey pasta. Why? Because most other stroganoffs I've had have been pretty mediocre.
Copper Onion's stroganoff has quality pieces of meat that are tender and tasteful. The noodles were perfectly cooked and topped with a creamy sauce.
This is my second time here and the food and dining experience get better every time. You can taste the love and precision with which each bite. You will NOT be disappointed.
The staff was attentive and knowledgable about the food. I sat at the bar and watched my red pepper pasta as it was prepared. It was delicious.
I appreciated the carafe of water since Utah is so hot and dry. I'll definitely be back if I'm ever in SLC.
Mixed Feelings; Go for the Wagyu Stroganoff. Positives:
-Excellent cheese course options. I strongly recommend the Olive Oil Cake for dessert, especially if you prefer more savory or nutty flavors.
-Rainbow Trout dish is superb. The Wagyu Stroganoff is amazing. On the flipside, I sadly did not find the special of Wagyu steak to be anything special.
-Excellent combinations of vegetable dishes.
-Good bathrooms with nice decor. Happy to see two one-toilet bathrooms labeled "Washroom" and "Washroom" as opposed to Men/Women listings that limit the line for the bathrooms.
Drawbacks:
-Quite noisy
-Consistently packed
-Very little room to move, tiny tables
-Servers clearly worked to the bone
Recommendations: Expand the restaurant, whether at this location or another. The crowd will follow.
Best Kitchen I have seen in action!. We were here for an event in town and they were packed but we had the opportunity to sit "at the bar" which was in front of the kitchen. I am glad we took that option versus waiting for a table. I have never seen a more in sync kitchen. It truly was great to watch. The food was awesome as was the service and atmosphere. I highly recommend it! And for all of you pickle lovers out there (which I am one) their home made pickles are fantastic!!!!
Don't ge the meat loaf!. I've been here a few times and its good. Not as great as everybody says though. The stroganoff is really good and so is the hamburger. Stay away from the meatloaf though, all three of my friends and I thought it was disgusting. I hate how tiny the restaurant is as well. I don't like eating less than a foot away from a stranger. In all its a good place but not amazing.
Tried brunch once and it was great! Went back to try the dinner and not as great. Portions were on the smaller side but quite pricey. Service wasn't great either...$100 for 2 and the staff is in blue jeans??
Absolutely a great place. Would recommend this place to anyone. Food was great, service was top notch, and atmosphere is perfect. Don't miss out on this great place!
Great people watching. The foods pretty good, too, although a little more on the spendy side. They have a great place to chill and have a drink while you're waiting to be seated. It was a superb location for the inaugural SLC dinner club.
Give it a second chance. We ate here 2 years ago and vowed never to go back because we were less than impressed. Fortunately, we have some friends who urged us to try again. We did, and we have been back 5 times since! Excellent food, maybe we went on an off day the first time.
We went there for brunch on Saturday, and it was so delicious! My husband ordered a frittata, and it was just the perfect frittata texture. I had a brunch special, which I hope they add to their menu, a BBQ Brisket Biscuit. Essentially a brisket eggs benedict, so dang good! Brunch is extremely reasonably priced, $8-$12 for a meal. We were hoping to get a cinnamon roll there too, but we were too full to even consider it!A great brunch location that actually serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday, not just Sunday like most restaurants here in Salt Lake.
Burger.... Every time i come with friends and they order other items on the menu, i am ALWAYS impressed with them - i can't, however get away from ordering the burger every single time i'm there. Love it with every part of me!!! The bone marrow is also to die for. Worth the wait every time, and worth every penny! If you want a great brunch spot, as well, this is a great option!
Excellent service. Food was great. The meat and cheese app. Was a great addition to our meal. My only complaint is that it is very loud and close quarters.
Great Food Exists In SLC. Holy crap! I actually found a place in SLC I loved. How have i never been here before? Had a great bottle of white Burgundy while waiting on the rest of my party and the table at mine to leave. I didn't care, I was having a genuine foodie good time. The local meat and cheese plates were paired well with my sancere. My fish, the duck, the steak frites were prepared to perfection and care. I live in a happening food city, and Copper Onion could easily hold its own in Charleston. Excellent!
We picked Copper Onion because they have Fried Pork Belly on the menu. It turns out to be one of the best we have had for a long long time. We ordered the first one and then re-ordered another one after our main course. The bone marrow was very tasty. The cheese and meat board was nice too. We had all the local cheese and meat.
We sat outside because it was pretty warm and noisy inside. It was the only reason the noise level is moderate.
This is my favorite restaurant in SLC. I enjoy sitting at the bar and watching the chefs cook my food. I have taken a lot of out of state clients to Copper Onion and everyone raves about it.
Best downtown lunch. Today we had risotto with tiny green beans and mushrooms, asparagus/pea soup and the justly famous ricotta dumplings. Everything well-prepared and seasoned to let taste of ingredients shine through, although many dishes are rich and a person of ascetic tastes might find menu choices limited.
Professional but affable service. In past have had problems with noise, but a late lunch with most people sitting outside made it bearable.
The Pork Belly was amazing! Cooked just right! The cheese we tried was also excellent! Wasn't to big a fan of the Chicken and Tomato soup, it was way "bitter" for us. All in all we really enjoyed The Copper Onion!
Tasty. This was my first time to visit The Copper Onion. I was very pleased with the food. My Ribeye steak was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside, tender and slightly pink on the inside, seasoned just right. The sides were the perfect amount for two and were delicious. The atmosphere was loud, but that can be expected from a popular restaurant. I'll go again on my next visit.
Enjoyable Experience!. This is my first experience with the Salt Lake City food scene. Everything I tried was outstanding from a well recommended wine to the griddled duck entree and fluffy cheesecake desert. All six guests left completely happy!
I need to start off by saying I am a frequent guest here. So clearly I like it. That being said, I've realized they always make me feel rushed through my meal. I find that quite annoying. Let me enjoy my wine and my food. Don't bring me my main course when I am not even halfway through with my app. That is just such bad form for a restaurant like The Copper Onion. It will be a while before I go back. I'm very displeased with my experience.
Great restaurant. Their Cuban sandwich and burger were great. The ricotta dumplings were amazing.
I had the carbonara pasta and it was great !! The service is awesome ! Really good place to have a nice dinner ! I love it
Brunch.....yes, please. I love this place for that wonderful meal located between breakfast and lunch. My husband loves he can one of his favorite burgers, with a mimosa. Try it out, delicious!
WOW. Ate here with my girlfriend for our 3yr. Probably won't be able to afford to come again until next year though (still broke college students). The food was absolutely amazing. Girlfriend got the famous stroganof, i got the meatloaf, every aspect of the meals was great - including every side. The bartenders also get credit because every libation we ordered was extremely unique yet perfectly mixed - no weird overpowering flavors, you can tell they really pay attention to their drinks.
If you are on town you really need to go here. Innovative and good.
Good. Love this place. Really fun atmosphere...a little crowded and tight. The food is great. Love their carbonara.
Apres movie delight!. Recently had light supper on the patio at the Onion with two friends. It was my first visit, and certain to be one of many. The ricotta dumplings are a meal on their own...we also enjoyed the sauteed mushrooms with potato sticks, and black pepper pasta. Bon appetit!
Pretty amazing!. Finally had a chance to go with some out of town friends. We are all fairly critical but had high expectations. And, they were exceeded! The service and the food were competitive and we will DEFINITELY return. A great addition to the SLC dining landscape.
We were there on Sunday for lunch. It was a little noisey for my likes. They have a nice drink selection, & the food was well prepared. I also like the serving sizes....reasonable, not huge.
Awesome Food. In town for the day and saw it on Urbanspoon. Decided to try because it had high ratings. After eating there I think they should be higher. Everything we had was amazing. The white bean soup was maybe the best I've ever had. It had a really nice brightness to it due to what I thought might be lemon but was informed that it was actuallyuse sherry vinegar. The roasted parsnips and brussel sprouts were a very nice accompaniment to the braised pork belly. The mussels in a pepper white cream sauce were very good as well. We also had the romaine salad and I will now serve mine at home similarly.
We sat at the food bar and watched as the busy staff handled the food with aplomb. Everything looked very clean, fresh and the plating was done with care. Service was very good. All in all, a great experience and not what I had expected of SLC.

Interesting and delicious food, great ambiance!. For a nice not-too-exotic-but-still-interesting night out on the town, the Copper Onion is guaranteed to please. The food is homey and familiar with high-quality, fresh ingredients and a presentation that makes it incredible!!
Amazing. I don't know how this place is only 84%. I'll put it simply - I had the kind of upbringing that led me to eating at restaurants with 3 Michelin stars before I was 12. One of the best meals I have ever had was at The Copper Onion.

Amazing. If I wanted to run a restaurant, this is how it would be. Warm and convivial, serious about food without being fussy. Everything we had was spot on, skillfully executed from quality ingredients. We started with the house made pickles, had a tray of charcuterie, then the wagyu bone marrow, then ricotta dumplings and fettuccine carbonara. And a plate of patatas bravas even though they didn't really go with the rest of what we ordered, just because we love that dish :) We finished with cranberry orange sorbet and blueberry/pear pie. Even the drinks were great - the Copper Collins is an unexpected twist on a classic. My only regret is not ordering more food - the table next to us had the duck confit and it looked delicious. Also, they were very gracious in accommodating the flower delivery my husband arranged for our table - it was our first anniversary :) Can't wait to go back!
Birthday Bliss. I love this restaurant. Love it! The pork belly with Brussels sprouts, parsnip, and preserved cherry was amazing. Melt in your mouth porky goodness, crispy, sweet, and delectable. The marrow is rich and fantastically flavorful. The best butter imaginable. Waygu stroganoff was creamy, tender rich beef, perfectly cooked fresh paparadelle, and earthy mushrooms. Loved the arugula salad. The map,e bourbon ice cream was silky, hit your tongue with bouton, then sweet maple, finishing with the spicy alcohol finish of bourbon. Caramel cheesecake was very good, but the icecream upstaged it. We will be back with bells on!
Is there anything better?. Seriously... Is there any place better to eat than The Copper Onion? I don't believe so. Not only is the food amazing, but the wait staff is usually on top of their game. Shout out to the beautiful and fun Angie! (And when I say "usually on top of their game", I mean 99 out of 100 times -- when we have a random new server who isn't super enthusiastic about the food, like we are. haha.)
My boyfriend and I like to hit them up every Sunday for brunch, because its not super expensive and even if it were: It would still be worth it. And let me tell you, their awesome brunch PALES in comparison to their amazing dinner! The mushrooms with a fried egg on top are to die for. And if you love seafood, the mussels are extraordinary. I have order the Carbonara a couple times, its one of my favorite things on the menu. You know a place is talented when you start to stir the noodles around and you find an egg yolk nestled in the noodles just waiting to be broken. And when you break it, *sigh*, heaven. It adds richness, creaminess, and its just plain fun. They have a relatively extensive selection of wine in various sizes (I love the quartinos!!), great cocktails, and great coffee. Don't even get me started on dessert. I am in love with this place. If you were to tell me there is a better way to spend my money, I would tell you that you are wrong. Simply wrong.
I found the ambiance noisy. Service slow. Interesting menu all the diners I was with were happy with their dinner selections
Amazing. Came for dine around and was not disappointed at all. Probably one of the best meals I've had in SLC, no.... the best meal. Love the location too, nice to stop by before or after a movie. Having a nice restaurant in this location gives me more faith in the cultural improvement in the city. Not to be missed!
One of the best in SLC.... After two visits to the Copper Onion I am convinced that this is one of the best restaurants in SLC. I love the warm and casual atmosphere, the fantastic food and the affordable prices. We started the meal with three sides -- spinach with raisins and cashews, grilled scallions and cucumbers/radishes with ricotta. The spinach was cooked perfectly -- lightly wilted and warmed just enough to marry the flavors with the toasty cashews and sweet raisins. The romesco sauce served with the scallions was one of my favorite part of the meal -- beautiful flavor and texture. The spice on the cucumbers/radishes paired nicely with the cooling ricotta and cucumbers. For the entree, I had the Clear Springs Trout with beets, fennel and almonds. The trout was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The beets and fennel paired well together and I loved the almonds that brought a nuttiness and crunchiness to the dish. For dessert, I had a big slice of apple pie served with vanilla ice cream. Every aspect of it was delicious -- the crust was flaky and buttery, the apples were warm and soft and were surrounded by a gooey and warmly spiced sauce/filling. It had a nice crumb topping that offered another textural element and a nice brown sugary flavor. The best part was that it wasn't too sweet, and I easily ate the whole slice (a very generous portion). I can't say enough about how much I love this place. I love the emphasis on local, seasonal ingredients and the ever-changing menu that always has a ton of creative and innovative dishes to offer.
The copper onion is definitely a unique place in utah. The interior feels so summery and fresh. I've been twice, both times the food has been really good. I love that their portion sizes aren't enormous. A little pricey, so it is perfect for a special occasion.
Pork Belly Salad. Delicious food made with many local ingredients. The pork belly salad is one of my favorites. Casual atmosphere and friendly staff makes it a pleasure to dine in here.
Love the feel of this reataurant. And the food was delicious too! Try the duck
Nice place. Nice menu, fresh food. This is a good restaurant. A little pricey, but for a special occasion, this is a must.
Exceptional burger, nice soft french toast.
Top Notch all around. Copper Onion is a great addition to SLC. I feel like I'm eating in Chicago or L.A. The entrees have always been made to order with no shortcuts. Open view kitchen.... I like sitting at the counter to watch the kitchen crew- very pro skills & teamwork. Quality ingredients made with care! Don't flinch at the moderate price, it's an amazing value. The money at this place is on the plate where it belongs. Smart and thoughtful service. Copper Onion is a place for the bon vivants of SLC.

I took my husband to the Copper Onion for his fortieth birthday. We had a fantastic server who had great recommendations. We had the mushrooms and tomato salad plates to start with-fantastic. The wine that he recommended was perfect. For our entrees my husband had the pork ragu and loved it while I had the halibut which was light and delicious. For desert we had the apple pie empanadas which were tasty with Carmel sauce and vanilla ice cream. We would definitely go back. The atmosphere was great. The open kitchen was cool. Overall it was outstanding.
Perfectly poached eggs are hard to come by. Delish!
Tasty!. I had brunch at the Copper Onion today and it was good! I had their cheese burger. It was perfectly cooked, very juicy and the meat had great flavor. It had caramelized onions that had a hint of sherry, cheddar cheese, mayo and shredded iceberg lettuce. The lettuce choice was a little disappointing. I have never been an iceberg fan I would have preferred butter lettuce, arugula or mache. It was served with large steak fries. All and all it was pretty good! I had a great customer service experience so I don't know what everyone else was complaining about. It was a busy Sunday but our server seemed to be on the ball.
I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
Small and fun tucked away on state street. Had the halibut special and it was superb. Steak was done perfectly and martinis were unique. Service was excellent- we ended up with a third person joining u's and sat at chef bar and watched them cook.
Overall, just delightful. From service to food, everything was definitely above and beyond my expectations. The decor is a bit odd, with pigs all over the walls. But the food is so delicious that you forget all about the little piggies everywhere. All in all, I loved loved loved it! I'll be returning, very soon.
Favorite Sunday Blinner. I always have great experience at The Copper Onion. Great food and wonderful staff. I love sitting at the chef's counter on Sunday afternoon having a glass of wine or a mimosa.
Great brunch items and small plates. The mushroom scramble is to die for. If there is butternut squash soup on the menu, order it!!! They always make you feel like a special friend rather than just a customer.
Unbelievable!. I went to the Copper Onion last night and it was amazing! We ordered a variety of dishes and all shared among 5 of us. I don't think I've ever eaten so many things and liked them all from one restaurant. People rave about their burger all the time, which I definitely liked, but compared to some of the other dishes, it wasn't my favorite. The mussels with toast points were unreal. Not fishy at all, and the toast points, more of a soft pillowy yummy focaccia was awesome. I could have eaten just that as my entree. All of the side veggies were excellent too. The Duck Confit was to die for! I couldnt even explain all of the wonderful flavors in that dish and they all worked so well together. Also, I have to say, the service was impeccable, in a relaxed, yet classy atmosphere. Especially for the fact that this restaurant is not $40 a plate. I had the best experience here and I will definitely be frequenting the copper onion from now on.
Sit at the counter to watch the way a well run kitchen should work. Corners are not cut, technique is correct, ingredients top quality. The result is consistently delicious. Brunch is cravable. Love the perfectly poached eggs, juicy steak with the charred crust and the hollandaise with the perfect hint of lemon AND fresh French press made coffee.
Got a last minute reservation on a Friday night and it was packed but ambience was nice. Steak Frites were good except for the fries were overcooked. Seared duck breast was delicious and tender, as well as the roasted carrots was surprisingly good. I was really anticipating the bone marrow but it was a major disappointment, 3 bones and only a half tablespoon worth of marrow collectively.
Brussels sprouts will leave a sour taste in your mouth as they are very acidic. Drinks & Service was great. The only dish that lived to its expectation was “Crispy Cauliflower”. Great place for one time experience but has low value for money in my opinion.
The Copper Onion is the perfect date spot you’ll want to get a reservation for or try to slide into the first come first served bar area. I started with the $8 cider and added Four Roses for $4 to warm up while I ate their amazing roasted beet salad ($14). The ricotta is sweet and rich! The Wagyu Beer Stroganoff is so rich and has an enormous portion of meat for $27 - I’d definitely recommend splitting in. Everything was amazing but the star for me is the roasted cauliflower with Cesar dressing for $7. It’s insanely flavorful and I’m still thinking about it !
It was my first time coming here and what a great experience. I got the beef stroganoff and it was a solid 9/10. The dish was really salty otherwise it would’ve been 10/10. The beef was cooked to perfection and I’m pretty sure the noodles are handmade. The apple crisp was also really good. Will return again!
Good was delicious and the atmosphere was just right - lots of conversation without being too loud. Beautiful outside patio as well. They don’t have a kids menu but are able to make buttered noddles, etc.
The beet salad is one I will be day dreaming off for months to come!
Lovely atmosphere! Our server was prompt and gave us great service. The food was delicious. Price was reasonable. We paid $17 for their burger and fries. I would come back.
It was our first time visiting the restaurant. The gentleman at the reception was very nice and took us to our seat.
We ordered Patatas bravas, and the menu described something as crispy potatoes with spicy aioli. They were so spicy that my husband, who enjoys that kind of food, ate only a few. If you like spicy, those are yours. The combination of spices is fantastic, with the most aromatic of them being the smoked paprika.
My husband ordered the Steak and Eggs. The French fries were fabulous and with the perfect crunch. The plate comes accompanied with a salsa Verde.
I ordered the Copper Onion Burger. I told the waitress I wanted it cooked 155F. She then questioned how I wish it cooked. (I would expect someone who works at a restaurant to at least ask the cook about what is the meaning of a hamburger cook at 155).
I had to explain then, I wanted it to cook no pink on it.
The hamburger came accompanied with an arugula salad with fresh parmesan cheese and a delicious dressing.
For dessert, we order a crispy apple. It's a warm dessert with peanuts, oats, and apple. There were other things I wasn't able to fully identify.
Excellent food, service, and vibe!
The servers were exceptionally friendly, had good recommendations and made us feel very welcome.
The food was spectacular - The Carbonara in particular. It was rich, creamy, add some chili flakes for some extra spice to the cream and crack that egg they provide too!
I’d go back and eat it again!!
Cacio e Pepe was very tasty! We sat at the chefs table and it was a sight to see every second of our visit. Talent and teamwork. The servers take their time to make sure food comes out correct and in a timely manner.
Beef stroganoff is was good but bland.
Drinks were tasty.
Highly recommend the house sourdough bread.
Ordered - app. Ricotta Dumplings... main. Five spiced duck. GF got a new York steak special so that probably won't be there if you go...
Damn. The NY steak my girlfriend got was amazing. My duck was pretty good, came medium rare and I don't know if I had the option but I would have ordered it med or med well. But it was tasty.
The Carbonara was divine, please get it! You can tell from the taste and texture that the majority of the pieces (pasta, burger patty, fries, pickles, pickled onions, sauces, cheesecake, etc.) are made from scratch in house. Our server was so kind and knowledgeable. As for atmosphere, it was loud and bustling, in a nice way. Versatile vibes - could be a casual date, work gathering, friends hangout, or a celebratory meal. Definitely coming back to try the wagyu beef stroganoff.
2023-10-28 update: Carbonara is consistently delicious. Please (for the love) don't order the off-menu duck & mushroom poutine....
Great experience overall, 10/10, our date night included cocktails that actually give you a buzz along with great service and food. We had the ricotta dumplings for an appetizer and duck breast and special of New York Strip for the entrees. Would definitely come back and recommend for a date night. Solo dining would also be an option as the place does get a little loud, but honestly you're there for the quality of the food and the talent of cooking that food.
I love the ambience, environment and service of Copper Onion most. It's super cozy and definitely a great place for a cute dinner date that you could chat and have a good time together.
For food alone :
- The oysters are fine, the dipping sauce is amazing, but I guess you just cannot expect too much for seafood in Salt Lake in general. The plating is definitely a bonus!
- The carbonara is very rich and creamy with an egg to be mixed in yourself, which is a fun experience that is out of my expectation. But overall, it's a bit too heavy for my taste bud.
This is my wife’s all-time favorite burger. The Copper Onion burger has caramelized onions and duck fat aioli and tastes superb. We’ve been here many times.
Interesting note - this burger actually used to be offered next door at the Copper Common. My friend and I would frequent there for the burger. However, they moved the burger to this location and the Copper Common now offers a different burger.
I remember coming here a few years ago, thinking wow, the food was really good. Last night my wife and I went out and decided to come here again. Oh my goodness! Both the appetizer and the entry were absolutely exquisite! Sounds silly but I wanted to lick the plates clean. I am not a foodie, and most of the times we go out to places the food is… meh. However, here, it was truly amazing! I am now convinced, having been to dozens of places in Salt Lake that the Copper Onion has the best chef, offering the most delicious dinner in Salt Lake. I am a lousy tipper but I left a 30% tip last night and asked the waitress to tell the chef hats off! This is a rare rare place!
Had my first visit here on a Saturday night. I get the hype. The vibe of the restaurant is trendy and what you'd want out of a restaurant downtown. But I have to compliment the food! I ordered the patatas bravas (fried potatoes with a spicy aioli) and was shocked that it in fact had a kick to it. I'm not used to American restaurants saying something is spicy and then being able to deliver on that. It was delicious! Also ordered the wagyu beef stroganoff. The wagyu was impeccable. It was tender, juicy and there was a lot of it. The sauce was a bit on the saltier side for me and there was more sauce than I would have liked. The pasta could have been cooked longer, but overall I was pleased with my meal. The mom's jeans cocktail was good too!
Highly recommend making reservations beforehand as it is very busy during dinner hours. Parking is on the street or in the parking garage attached to the restaurant. Weekends are free parking in the garage. They do not validate parking during the weekdays.
Again, I was so impressed with the spicy aioli and wagyu. Can't go wrong with that!
The food was delicious, and the service was great. However, there was a slight unpleasant odor from the coffee cup, which was a minor drawback. It seems like they need to pay a bit more attention to the cleaning.
