I have loved this place since it opened. When I became vegan it was the first pub to offer vegan options. I love the weekend brunch. And I'm not the only one! Definitely need to open with more staff as our wait for service and our food was very long (1 server at least 10 tables no fewer than 4 covers each and 1 party of at least a dozen ppl!) but worth it as it was delicious! The place was hopping and we got there a half an hour after opening. Our visit was 11/18/17.

Such a great public house full of a great mixed crowd of people that never make you feel unwelcome. Amazing beer on tap, great atmosphere and an incredible menu both vegan and non-vegan. This is my favorite bar in Salt Lake City hands down. Be sure to check out the patio upstairs, it's incredible.

Good drinks, good food, good music. Piper Down is not as dark and loud as a lot of other bars, meaning it's possible to actually talk to your friends while you're there.

Went to Piper Down for a Paint Nite event, got there early to grab some food and had their french dip sandwich & fries, it was delicious. I think I'll have swing by there for lunch one of these days. The atmosphere was friendly, the staff was friendly, I had a really good time, thanks Piper Down

#PiperDownPub is a place I’ve visited a lot. Having lived in Ireland for a couple years I enjoy the ambience of the pub and enjoy the food and drink. Including Guinness on tap. While the food is excellent it’s still not the same as the Emerald Isle versions. So here’s a list of some of the dishes and drinks I’ve enjoyed. You can’t go wrong with any of them. #ScotchEggs Hard-boiled eggs, hand wrapped in ground sausage, breaded and deep-fried. Served with Guinness mustard. The mustard is fantastic. I really enjoy this appetizer and it’s easier to get then asking for my sister to make hers, which are my favorite. #PiperWings 10 jumbo wings tossed in buffalo, angry Korean, spicy bourbon, teriyaki, BBQ, honey sriracha, honey mustard, or cajun dry rub. Served with carrots, celery, and ranch or blue cheese. The Angry Korean sauce is great, spicy, savory, sweet, and yummy. #FriedPickles Beer-battered Mount Olive dill pickles with Guinness mustard sauce. Again the sauce is amazing. And it’s an appetizer I can’t get at home. The Beer Battered #OnionRings are great. The beer batter is the best way to enjoy onion rings. The #Pretzel is fun, hanging from a high wire sculpture, you rip off a piece and dip it in the lovely Guinness Mustard sauce. The #GalwayGrilledCheese sandwich is amazing. Corned beef, caramelized onions, cheddar & Swiss, aioli, and Guinness mustard on grilled sourdough. One of my favorite sandwiches from Piper Down. Their burgers are 1/3 pound fresh ground 100% Wagyu Beef on brioche with lettuce, tomato, onion, and aioli. Served with fries and a pickle spear. You can Substitute mixed green salad, onion rings, or sweet potato waffle fries or even Poutine, or cheese fries. I have a fondness for Poutine. I often get it when I see it, if I’m not getting Onion rings. I’ve enjoyed the #GarlicMushroomSwissBurger with Sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and Swiss cheese. Yumm. #ShepherdsPie made with Sirloin, onions, peas, and carrots simmered in a Guinness-based beef broth topped with mashed potatoes and cheddar & jack is very good. While not a true shepherds pie because it’s made with beef not lamb. Beef pie is called Cottage Pie in Ireland and UK Shepherds Pie is made with lamb, but most Americans don’t know the difference. Anyways Pipers is really good with nice crispy cheese on top. #BangersAndMash is Guinness braised sausages served on a pile of mashed potatoes, topped with brown gravy and caramelized onion. Is a great take on an English dish. I love gravy and sausage in any form. The #FishAndChips have been excellent at times. It’s a Half-pound of hand-cut wild Alaskan cod, beer-battered per order and Served with American style English chips, fresh lemon, tartar sauce, and coleslaw. While I make the best #IrishStew I’m not always wanting to be put out and make it so I will often get the #IrishStewDinner Mashed potatoes smothered in their famous Irish beef stew. Served with grilled sourdough. A very tasty version and I didn’t have to cook. Some of the tasty drinks include #AutumnMuleCocktail Absolut Pears, St. Elder, Cranberry, Ginger Beer. Love the Pear flavor, nice and sweet. #GuinnessLatteCocktail Jameson Cold Brew, Chapala Coffee Liqueur, Guinness, Half and Half. kind of a fun White Russian or Guinness shake. #RumPunch Cocktail Bacardi Superior Rum, Cruzan Mango Rum, Cranberry Juice, Lime. A Refreshing sweet drink. #DarkNStormyCocktail Fever Tree Ginger Beer w/ a Float of Kraken. #GaelicStormCocktail Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey, Ginger Beer, Bitters and Fresh Lemon served in a Collins glass. Can really taste the Whiskey version versus rum in others. #MoroccanCoffeeCocktail Kahlua, 151, Irish Cream and Coffee. Topped with St. Brendan’s Irish Cream Infused Whipped Cream. Nice and strong, Stronger than Irish coffee. A nice citrusy #TequilaSunrise Cocktail Tequila, Orange Juice and a Splash of Grenadine. And of course last but not least the #GuinessDraught (nitro) on tap. So much good food, drinks, and wonderful service at Piper Down an Olde world Pub.

Great food, excellent service! I couldn't get enough of the baked potato!! So freaking good! The Beeg as your head Nachos were great to but what I found most impressive... the freaking Pretzel!! SO damn GOOD!! Our server was very very nice and considerate! She made sure we had what we needed- even went as far as to ask if my girlfriend's service dog needed anything! She was great!! Had excellent suggestions when we asked her opinions and was everything a great server should be!! Really made our time there! Why not 5 stars?.. in short, it's not the Horse-brass Pub. It's dirty. The bathrooms look and feel like one should expect to catch a disease and the constant smoke flowing through the place was gross. I understand that I bathe, don't have delusions about my gender and don't have tattoos, so I might not be the type to frequent your establishment so... that's why I left all of that out of my initial review. But since you asked...

This is my favorite bar in SLC. It is very cozy, has great food and drinks, and the staff has always been extremely friendly. The Guinness on tap goes well with everything on the menu but maybe I am just partial to drinking delicious Guinness and eating amazing food. My wife and I have been here for both brunch and dinner numerous times and have always been very impressed.

This pub is amazing! The service is top tier and the food... wow. They have an extensive vegan menu in addition to a regular one. I didn't try the vegan food but my vegan friends said the meat tastes too good to be vegan and they love it. We came here to watch the world cup and it was such an amazing environment for sports lovers. You can cheer and be yourself because that is what everyone is doing. 10/10 will be back again.

I went for brunch today and the service was amazing! The food came out hot fresh and delicious as well. Our server Cassidy was friendly and hospitable and the others that checked on us and brought our food were also wonderful. Highly recommended for weekend brunch (they have vegan options too) and during the week they always have a fun event.

Literally the best pub with the friendliest service and most amazing food. Best vibe, very familiar and cozy— like an old friend or warm and fuzzy memory. I love it here. We’ve been in town visiting and have been to a few high end restaurants and Piper Down has the best food and the tastiest drinks. 10/10 hands down, you must come check it out.

Love this pub! Their live music on the weekends is my all time favorite—saw StarMetal here a couple of weeks ago and it was just incredible. Excellent variety of house cocktails. They also have a countdown to saint Patrick’s day on the wall—what’s not to love?

Shepherds pie was delicious, n the environment was ecstatic. Couldn't ask 4 anything more from an Irish pub. Tables could've been clean, but a dude wipe fixed that right up n a frosty pint made me for get the past. It was a very enjoyable experience.

It's a decent restaurant/bar. They have a fairly extensive menu. They have many vegan and vegetarian options. The food and drinks were good and the server was attentive. Plan on parking somewhere along state Street since they do not have a parking lot.

We came in here to have a shepherd to one evening. It took 15 minutes for anyone to come to our table. Whilst the dark haired girl paced back-and-forth. Literally doing everything she could to avoid our table as well as the other female server. Eventually, the only man that seemed to be working at the bar got through his line of customers and eventually came out and helped us. If he had not come out from behind the bar who probably would have received no service. Those women go out of their way to avoid you as a customer unless you're there to flirt with them at the counter. Or you came with them or you're dating them or you know them. Then you will definitely get your service it seems to be the case.

Our friends love the trivia nights at Piper Down and introduced us to their $1.25 mimosas and brunch (which quickly turned into our group getting $15 bottles of champagne in stead. ✨🥂🫧) The brunch food was pretty good and considering our MASSIVE group we had great awesome from the staff!

Loved it, love it, will come back to love it some more! Love the diverse crowd, great music, surprisingly above average cocktails, and the food was 👌 Characters worth getting to know all unique and amazing in their own way that work here. Gem of a place- Love that someone came through the bathrooms and told 2 in one stall to get out… Thanks for the fun times!

I just wanted to show my appreciation for Tamara. She is so quick, kind, and always good for a laugh. Also being pretty doesn’t hurt. But seriously she’s great at what she does and you can tell she is a kind person; and it’s just nice to be around kind people. Don’t change a a thing.

Went to watch a friend in the band, I don't drink. The environment was kind of glumy, alot if peeps with drama and trying to drag others into it. But staff was great. Music was awesome. And had fun even though. We had multiple food options that were good as well

Came here for Sunday night trivia and had a lot of fun. Good food and extensive vegan menu. Good atmosphere inside and loved the Irish pub theme, only complaint was that they should serve more Irish beer options. Most of the beer was from local breweries and when I asked for a Kilkenny, they had no idea what I was talking about. 😅

As I sat listening to random trivia over the speakers, the crowd watching the USA team soccer erupted over such a close game. Overall, this place is amazing. BLUR was my host of amazing wit and humor ( the bartender roasted me) that was quick to offer incredible service with his distinct personality. I had an INTERSTELLAR meal of chicken sliders. The food was absolutely well priced and left humbled that such a place existed still. I have never been afraid to ask for a good review if my service was great, and neither did Blur. Tuna, Blur, and the staff at Piper, my thanks to you for a great experience in Salt Lake.
