Best ambience. Love the look of the place, just an amazing looking bar. The wine area was just beautiful. Good, potent drinks, good food. Our waiter, Matt, was excellent. Love the place, highly recommend it! Heard there will eventually be a speakeasy style place downstairs, and a rooftop bar on top... excited to come back and try both. Highly recommend this place!

I feel like this place is to special to be called a bar. Which is good, because I'd rather not be a regular at a bar and I'm becoming one. This is why I keep going back...Craft cocktails, Delicious Spanish Tapas and menu. I'm a Chef and this is saying a lot. The best Paella I've ever had. Yeah that's right, in SLC. Gorgeous interior and great music nightly. Not so loud you can't talk but can still enjoy it. This little city is growing up!

Went there for the first time on Saturday night, then again the very next day for brunch. The food and drinks were great, the staff was all super friendly and the atmosphere and vibes were the cherries on top of a great weekend. Shout out to the talented musician who serenaded us during brunch. I will say, the brunch service was a bit slower than it probably should've been, but I'll definitely be coming back soon either way.

Like Effect is a place I frequent because of its pleasant atmosphere and diverse spaces. Upstairs, you can enjoy spacious and comfortable areas while immersing yourself in live music, often in the country and Americana style. Downstairs offers a different ambiance, and with luck, you might get to experience some Latin music. During my recent visit, I decided to try some margaritas, and I must say I wasn’t completely satisfied. Both the strawberry margarita I ordered and the other drink I can’t recall precisely didn’t meet my expectations. They seemed to be prepared incorrectly as both turned out quite strong, and the strawberry margarita didn’t manage to highlight its characteristic strawberry flavor. Despite this experience with the drinks, the staff, particularly the guy who attended to us, was very friendly and courteous. My suggestion would be to consider an improvement in the drink preparation, as many visit the place with the expectation of enjoying pleasant beverages while socializing. Although my drinks fell short this time, I still generally find Like Effect to be a good option, as I usually like the place a lot.

Such a beautiful bar with amazing drinks and great service from the staff. Every drink we ordered was delicious! The bartenders were helpful with suggestions and recommendations. The bar itself is gorgeous and classy. Bathrooms were so pretty and clean! It was a great experience and we will definitely be going back next time we are in town!

Favorite place in the area. Great cocktail list with a mix of traditional and modern offerings. The food was also great. We ended up staying for dinner and we're both very happy with our orders (burger and the tacos). Highly recommend. The place does have a cover during weekends.

We were able to find street parking on the other side of the block. The people who took our IDs were very friendly. We came with reservations on a Saturday night. We had to wait about five minutes for them to clear a table for us. We were seated right by the live music, which luckily wasn't too loud. The waiter immediately brought us waters which I liked. He was quite attentive for it being a busy Saturday night. The food was incredible. We got the tacos and the paella. The rice on the paella was slightly overcooked on the bottom, but the rest was fluffy. Overall, we had a great experience and we will be back. We really enjoyed the attention to details for the atmosphere. I would recommend this place!

Great place!! Quiet on a Sunday afternoon but the ambiance is very inviting. The staff are very attentive but not overbearing at all, just right for great service. Only had an app but the food looked really good as well. The seating and small cozy booths are well done and provide the perfect book for a date night or cozy foursome. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed!

This place has a great vibe. I went on a Wednesday night, and they had some live music which added ambience. The decor is super cool, though I was a bit confused when it came to the restroom signs and accidentally went into the wrong one. Had some appetizers and dinner drinks and it was all delicious.

Stopped by this place to have a couple drinks before dinner and it did not disappoint! Bartenders were amazing, made suggestions on drinks that turned out delicious and a super cool old building. Will definitely try food there next time! Only downfall is the price of drinks.

Beautiful old building built in 1910 and they have definitely kept a classy old-fashioned atmosphere in the restaurant. I have been here a few times and they have an extensive and delicious drink menu. The food ranges from burgers to sea bass with scallops, and they have a late night menu.

Pretty nice spot to grab a drink and relax. The scotch based cocktail is surprisingly well balanced. The afternoon is less crowded and no need to pay cover fee. At night, it gets busy and loud.

Was referred here by a friend who lives somewhat local & she recommended the nachos! Holy hell! Presentation and flavor was there. We also added the bison chili with chips just for an extra flavor for dinner. Great food. We ate in the lower level for ambiance & it was totally worth it to sit in their speakeasy bar. We went upstairs to enjoy live music and cocktails. I recommend the nachos & burn the boats cocktail 🍹

I ate a delicious dinner in the speakeasy downstairs. The atmosphere is so warm and cozy. They have a huge list of cocktails. The menu has gluten free items clearly marked (and there’s a good selection). Be sure to ask about cross contamination though. Our server was busy, but sweet and helpful. Upstairs there was live music and a great bar. I look forward to coming here again on my next trip to SLC.

This is our second time at Lake Effect, we absolutely love this place. It's perfect for a date night! We sat at the bar this time and watching the mixologists work was so fascinating and they are amazing at their craft. Order the house made "Fireball" you won't regret it! We will be back.

I love this place for a romantic date night with my husband, this place has a friendly staff. 3 floors of just nice chill vibes. Beautiful bottom floor with a dark dinning room, first floor is very bright with an wide open bar and a live band, top floor is a Adam an Eve theme to it with the most gorgeous restroom were the dance floor is!. Definitely coming back for the Wagyu and Moscow Mules !

This is not your average bar. The interior is stunning, the decor is on another level. One entire wall is whiskey, bourbon, rum, and tequila to the ceiling. Don't let the other review pictures of a sparsely populated space fool you, this is a perfect venue for any gathering, large or small. Even one like the conference welcome reception my company hosted one night at Lake Effect recently, with literally hundreds of guests. Their staff was hopping the whole night, with special recognition for the team of bartenders in constant motion, and servers alert and attentive throughout the event. Mateo stands out as one of the most professional and engaging members of the staff I met that night, and the entire crew was stellar. Highly recommended.

Super fun spot with pretty good food options and drinks. Cover makes this place absolutely not 5/5 though, as a cover is nowhere near justified. But the band was pretty decent and I’d come back as long as they don’t have a cover.

I love the vibe and interior of this bar/restaurant. The live music is great. The bar area is huge and beautiful. I especially loved the frozen Aperol Spritz. It was such a refreshment and reminded me of Italy.
