Don't miss this local gem! The garlic cheese burger is not to be missed. Be warned though they measure the garlic with their hearts as they should. This place is great all year round. Garlic cheese burgers and Greek salad in the summer and chili cheese fries in the winter but really everything can be enjoyed all year round. They've extended their patio so you have a great view of the mountains. The staff is always friendly too.
Having grown up in the state, I've heard for years about the infamous garlic burger served at the Cotton Bottom. I recently had one for the first time and I was not disappointed. I thought it was good and I didn't think there was an overwhelming garlic taste which was nice. The burger doesn't come on a traditional bun which was a nice change as well. The fries were very good. Very crispy and tasty. When the food came out, I thought I easily could have done another burger but I'm glad I didn't. The servings are more generous than I first thought. The atmosphere is nice. In the summer (or while it's hot outside), there is a patio with loads of tables and shade. They allow dogs and I learned children can be outside on the patio with you (which is very progressive for Utah). Our service was good. I felt the pricing was a little steep. Seemed like a pitcher of beer and two garlic burgers cost around $60. I'd definitely return to the Cotton Bottom.
Of all the places that were recommended by people in the local area, this one was a winner! Huge burgers and tasty burgers as well! When the waiter warned us the chili cheese fries were a big basket we should have taken his advice. 4 big guys could easily split one order.
The menu is straight forward and to the point! We had a very short wait time and the food came out quickly. If I'm in the area again I'd definitely go back.
I've been coming to the Cotton Bottom for almost 50 years! But it's been thirty years since I've been in town. Lots has changed. Including the garlic burger. It is a very large burger for one person. It is way more garlic-ier than I ever remember! They use garlic powder. I'm not a huge fan of it, but my sister loves them and it was her birthday!! They now serve fries and fry sauce, which were great!! Brought back lots of memories!! I recommend this place. The staff was friendly.
I've heard of this place after someone barbecued some burgers that they bought from Snyder's meats. I just had to have one. I'm talking about their Garlic burger. Super good. It's crazy expensive, but the food was actually really really good. The service was just amazing and the atmosphere matched the people's attitudes. I'll definitely return.
I was a little hesitant to eat here, given some of the recent poor reviews. Dogs are allowed on the patio, which was the main reason for stopping. The double garlic burger and chili cheese fries did not disappoint! Portion sizes were bigger than I expected and the food was delicious! Here's to burping up garlic for a couple of days. 🤣

It is still my favorite place to come and have a burger. The garlic burger is the best in town. They also have good local beers on tap. Nice patio when the weather is good.

A few days later I was at a Greek restaurant in Sandy and had garlic fries that would pair so well with the garlic burger! Maybe Cotton Bottom could add something similar to go with their garlic burger? I'm sure it would be a hit! No such thing as too much garlic in my book.
One of the coolest eating settings in Utah. Being in the trees and up in the cottonwood area is really pretty.
The garlic burger is the go-to. The staff is super friendly! And that made the experience more welcoming. We sat outside and so we were a little bombarded with flies.
A walk around the trails after the meal is a must.
Naturally, I tried the garlic burger and it did not disappoint! Large portions, fast and friendly service, and great atmosphere. Sitting inside and out. Front patio and back. The prices are reasonable. This little hole n the wall is a great hang out

We stopped by on 9/30/23 and I can’t say enough about the service, food, and fantastic time. It has been a while since I have been somewhere and had amazing service. Our waiter was incredible and I know that it wasn’t his regular job. Huge shout out to the entire staff. Thank you for the delicious food and outstanding service.
Awesome environment with the nicest waitresses! “Bruce” was so nice. She brought a bag of chips and a doughnut to our crying toddler. The garlic burger with fries is a solid 9/10 for burgers. Get a double garlic burger with fries and split it with your friend or spouse and the food will be enough for the both of you.

I did not know this place existed and was loved it when me and him walked in. Great vibe and amazing food! Got the Garlic burger fries and a coke buddy got the same but with alittle sumtihigsumthing and a beer! Great staff and would highly recommend to anyone.
Okay full disclosure, a long time friend of mine is a manager here. But, The Cotton Bottom truly serves the town's finest garlic burger. The French bread the use was a genius idea. I have lived in SLC for 23 years and have not found anything better. If you are in town you need to try it.
