This place is my FAVORITE restaurant to go to for sushi, mussel shooters, ramen, uni and Mochi balls! You can never go wrong with anything here. The uni is absolutely yummy! This is the place to go if you want quality food and service. Mike and his staff are amazing. As soon as you walk in they treat you like family. They always greet us by our names and how have you been?! I will come here as long as they're open

This place have the most amazing Japanese food you ever have, outside of Japan. Trust me, the Ramen is amazing! Sashimi is REALLY fresh! Its like being back in Tokyo (except easier on my wallet). I drive 45 minutes to go there. And its worth it every minute and every penny.

I've been here for lunch a couple of times. I see some reviews about slow service, however I have not had to wait (Lunch service versus dinner maybe?). We were greeted at the door as soon as we walked in and sat at the bar each time. The chefs immediately greeted us and took our order before the waitress makes it back with our drinks. I'm not suggesting the waitress was slow either, since we had our drinks within minutes of sitting down...I do have to wait a few minutes longer for my rolls then in other places, but the food is worth the wait. We have ordered a variety of rolls and ramen noodles, everything comes out fresh and tastes awesome!! Beware of the heat levels on the Hell Fire spicy tuna roll!! The #6 is like a volcano, I can't imagine what a level 7 hotness would be!! Overall awesome place and I will be back again!!

Tucked in a little shopping strip area, good food, fast service, sushi chef super friendly. Not a bad find on a trip to Salt Lake.

Kinda amazing stumbling into a 'joint' like this in SLC...in a strip mall. WOWSA!! Loved the look on the chef/owner's face when the server asked him (at my insistence prior to ordering) where he gets the ramen broth. Haha...lucky for me there were no swords in the place😜. Yep, ALL made in-house!! Jackpot!! And, thank you for not going easy on yourself but putting cultural food pride first. (Reminded me of a time, long, long ago in Jackson at Nani's.) Lots of happy people enjoying some very special dinners. Me? Loved the Kimchi Ramen two nights in a row. Good job!! No, really...GOOD JOB!!

Rich and I love going to Kobe!.The Ramen is amazing. Our favorite is the Miso Ramen. We typically get a sashimi plate, a few thin rolls, sunomono and then venture out and try something new. The experience as well as the dishes keep us coming back again and again. Mike and his team are the best.

Greatest ramen place, on par with monta ramen house in Vegas. I'll keep going to it as long as the ramen keeps flowing and the sushi keeps being amazing!

First Ramen place I've been to in Utah. Arrived right as they opened the doors at 5pm on a Friday night. Was seated very fast. Service was excellent, fast and attentive. Had the shrimp tenpura appetizer, which was a very good start. Then ordered a reg size bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen with the thin noodles. Slurped up every last drop and noodle! Will return to try other tasty bites there.

The best sushi I've ever eaten was an incredible combination of flavors and textures that left me speechless. The rice was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of vinegar and sweetness to balance out the other ingredients. The fish was so fresh that it practically melted in my mouth, with a delicate texture and buttery flavor that was simply unforgettable. The accompanying sauces and garnishes were perfectly balanced, adding just the right amount of spice and flavor to complement the sushi without overpowering it. Overall, it was an experience that I will never forget, and that has set the bar incredibly high for all sushi that I will eat in the future. Personalities of the chefs were a succulent bonus. The hamachi Kama (fried chicken fish) was amazing. Sorry, not sorry.

The first time I came here was a Tuesday and my boyfriend and I were craving sushi so we decided to try it. Mike (the owner) was making our sushi that night and he was so delightful and made the night so much fun. The flavor profile is out of the world, along with the creativity! When I first started going there I didn't even like raw fish but Mike slowly got me to like it. Definitely the best fish in the valley and best sushi environment. We go here at least twice a week!! Our custom roll is called the Nix Roll, it has shishito peppers, avocado and tuna on the inside and then seared blue fin tuna and lemon on top! I highly recommend.

Have been going regularly to Kobe for 5+ years. The ramen is is BEST Salt Lake has to offer. The sushi is mostly good. I have had a few occasions where it tastes off but they are helpful to fix any issues. Restaurant is very kid friendly. Best app to order is the Karaage chicken. It’s so good!

Service: We went there on a Friday at 7. We had to wait a good 45 minutes to get a table and another 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order. Food: We had gone there mainly because we are ramen fiends and we heard really good things about the place. We got the Tonkatsu and Katsu curry ramen. Both were undeniably DELECTABLE. I would go with the regular size over the large next time as neither of us could finish it. Also if you get the tonkatsu, go for the optional thin flour noodles as their regular noodles are a bit thick and chewy. But everything else about the ramen was really good. The pork chashu literally melted in my mouth and the narutomaki were very light and soft. The eggs - perfectly soft boiled. I would go as far as to say it's the best ramen I've tried in SLC. Ambience: We sat on the table right next to the bar so it was very noisy and we had people walking past us a lot. If that's not your thing, you can try asking them for a table in the back. It seemed relatively calmer there.

Went here on a lunch date with my hubby. We had a few sushi rolls and split a large bowl of ramen. The food was delicious and the servers were friendly and accommodating. The music was a bit loud, which made quiet conversation a little difficult. Overall, a good experience. It's a bit on the pricy side; but not outrageous considering that they're serving fresh seafood in a landlocked state.

Only issue was sitting near the door, the inside room was quite chilly. We had to keep our coats on. Everything else was fabulous. Found out later that they added in 2 traditional table types that are closer to the ground, it would be fun to try out this type instead next time.

Was so excited to try good Japanese food in SLC and wow so satisfied! Tonkotsu ramen was so so good. The broth was next level. The sushi was very good too. Perfect combo of food! Left stoked! Will be back.

I saw this highlighted on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and I knew I had to try it! The food 1000% did not disappoint! I was so satisfied I smiled for three hours after I ate there! The service was less than I had imagined. The girl who was helping us seemed a little aloof, and it almost felt like she didn't want to be there.. that was a bit of a disappointment. But it didn't overshadow the delightful food!

Every experience here was truly exceptional!! Freshest fish with many varieties of nigiri and sashimi available on fridays when their shipment arrives. Black snapper & kona Kampachi amongst my favorites, but the richest toro has me salivating over just the memory!! Great service, attentive and knowledgeable staff make this sushi restaurant our #1!! I forgot to mention the tonkotsu ramen which is my favorite as well. The list is too long, just visit and try everything!!

Food is very good most of the time, but the service... terrible. I've been frequenting Kobe for many years. Ten years ago I would've given them 5 stars on all points, but service has declined exponentially over the years. I know it's a popular place & they are busy, but come on! I love this place & really want them to do better.
