2 of us ordered the potstickers, honey walnut shrimp and sesame beef. It was all outstanding and a great combination. There wasn't much left to take home for later enjoyment. I'm looking forward to returning soon.

We go here every time we are in Salt Lake. The pot stickers are absolutely fantastic. We also had the General's Chicken, but asked for it to be mild. They always do a fantastic job and have never disappointed. Will be back on our next trip for sure!!!

I think this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Salt Lake City. The food is fresh and flavorful, the staff is great, and the place is clean.

Not bad. So, I had the pot-stickers everyone has been bragging about. Both my wife and me agreed they were good, but nothing spectacular. The other food we had was also good, but not great. You go here and you won't be disappointed, but you're not going to be blown away either.

Also, I went in and ordered the food to go. They were very friendly and even asked if I wanted a drink while I waited. I declined, but they still brought me a glass of water. And, yes I did see the older gentleman counting his money while I was there. Too funny!!!

The Pot Stickers are great, and you better order them or they will hunt you down! Good food, a tad pricey, and mostly rude service. Be sure to watch the old man (David himself) count his money right out in front as you eat. Unbelievable!

Good Take Out. We really enjoyed our take out from David's Kitchen. We normally don't choose Chinese food, mainly because I think it can be boring, but our choices from David's Kitchen were great. We ordered the potstickers, based on everyone's stellar reviews, the General Chu's Chicken, and the Walnut Shrimp. We found all of them to be fabulous. We have only three (small) complaints: 1. The Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce was too spicy for us and our small kids; however, it's possible the "spicy factor" was marked on the menu and I didn't see it. 2. They didn't offer a lot of vegetable dishes. Although they did have vegetarian selections, I couldn't tell if any of them were, like, stir-fried veggies. This brings me to my final complaint: 3. David's Kitchen could describe their dishes in more detail on the menu.

Some of the Best Chinese. David's Kitchen, while occasionally featuring Americanized Chinese, is one of the best places to go for Chinese food. I recommend starting immediately with and order of potstickers; David's are better than any I've had (and I've had A LOT.) I think the reason I am so partial to these potstickers is 1) they are incredibly soft and moist with a perfectly crunchy bottom and 2) the sauce that goes with them, a combination of chili oil (made with fresh ground chili's) and an in house soy sauce involving mirin and wine, pairs perfectly with these delicious dumplings. If you are one who prefers the sweeter side of life, there is no question but to go with the walnut shrimp. A plethora of liightly battered tempura shrimp that are coated in a sweet honey sauce and then topped with sugar coated walnuts. There is no going wrong with this dish. My personal favorite, which is not on the menu, is the steamed schezwan tofu. Soft steamed tofu triangles in a light and fragrant schezwan sauce tossed with plenty of delicious and crisp vegetables. As if delicious Chinese food wasn't enough, David's has an added and welcome surprise: and excellent alcoholic drink mixer. David's used to be attached to a bar called Gino's, and it was here that Henry picked up on many tricks of the trade involved in bartending. As a result, he makes KILLER alcoholic beverages, one of the best being his bloody mary. Definitely not a restaurant to miss.

I could eat this every day! I haven't been disappointed yet. Walnut shrimp is incredible and it would be a sin to not order pot stickers. I've eaten a lot of Chinese food in my day, and so far this is my favorite.

It was Okay. The PotStickers were amazing! best I've ever had. The lunch combination was just okay. The guy that I paid was a JERK. Overall with one good, one okay, and one bad I would say that it was middle of the road, i probably wouldn't go back unless I was only getting pot Stickers and the younger guy wasn't working.

My Favorite chinese food in SLC. I love the potstickers! They could be a meal in and of themselves.

Order the Walnut Shrimp, House Fried Rice, and the Broccoli beef and you WILL be happy.

Pot Stickers. If you have not tried the famous pot stickers you are missing out! Everything else on the menu is amazing too. You can not go wrong at this local, friendly restaurant.

Very good pot stickers, crazy service. While service lacks on the weekends, the food is pretty good. Pot stickers are always good here. The serve a tasty, spicy Hot and Sour soup. The entrees they serve focus more on the savory side of American-Chinese food, so you won't find much of the sticky sweet sauce here. All of the entrees we've tried so far were good, but nothing really stood out. So while it's not the best American-Chinese in town, it's a good solid effort.
First time we went, we were scolded by our server the entire night for turning down their famous pot stickers. It was the weirdest thing. In fact, service on both occasions was on the insane side, watching our server sprint around the restaurant while our table was mostly ignored. Both occassions were extremely busy Saturday nights, but that's no excuse for poor service really. Just hire more weekend help. It took forever to get drinks, soup, appetizers, refills, food.. everything really.
Also, dinner prices are a touch on the high side, but lunch specials are priced very well. I'm on the fence with this one. I'd rate it a 3 out of 5 if I could.

Love the pot stickers.... But that's not all. Everything they serve is pretty good. I don't think I've had a single item at this establishment that I didn't enjoy. i really like the hot and sour soup, the beef and green beans and the black pepper beef. And did I mention the pot stickers with the hot sauce made to order to suit your individual heat tolerance? Fantastic!

Crowd Pleaser. You know that crowd at the back of the restaurant that seems oblivious to the existence of the rest of the world? Laughing, having I'm good time, acting like they own the joint? I'm often in that crowd at David's. It's a venue of choice when my friends get together. It's always suggested by someone, and always agreed upon by all. The can't miss dish at David's is Sesame Beef. Other great dishes would be the Pot Stickers and Walnut Shrimp.

Great Chinese food. Definitely try the wontons, they are amazing. The food was well cooked, fresh, and richly flavored.

This very quickly became one of my favorites in SLC. This is not one of your typical Americanized Chinese places where everything is smothered in sticky sweet sauce.

I need to give a shout-out to my new favorite Chinese restaurant in SLC. David's Kitchen may sound like the last place you would get great asian cuisine, but it is an absolute treat. Very generous portions, and each dish I have tasted has been incredible.

We decided to try David’s Kitchen after so many recommendations from friends, and the food did not disappoint. The potstickers were as good as we were told, and the Sweet and Sour Chicken and Cashew Chicken were delectable, although there wasn’t very much chicken in the Cashew Chicken dish. The service wasn’t too great, and we had to sit for nearly 15 minutes with empty plates to get our check, and never got refills on our drinks. UPDATE 2023: We ate at David’s Kitchen again on a Saturday evening right when they opened, and unlike the previous visit, the service was fantastic. The food was wonderful as always, especially the potstickers.

I love this place. My family and I have been going here for years. The staff has seen us grown up and we keep coming back. The food is great, and tastes amazing. Our favorite is the potstickers that go out quickly. But every dish here is incredible, packed with flavor. I always look forward coming back to this place!

This has been a family favorite for years. We love starting out a meal with their famous potstickers and table-made dipping sauce. They have great lunch specials but some of our favorites aren’t on that menu. So, if you’re out with a few people and want to look at sharing a couple of different entrees I would suggest, Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Sweet and Sour Chicken (my wife’s favorite), and some Green Bean/Asparagus Pork with the Black Bean sauce (my favorite), and some House Fried Rice to top it off.

Still the best pot stickers in town. The service is always fast and friendly. David's Kitchen has been valued member of our community in Salt Lake for decades and I am glad they are still here. Edit 1/28/23 went in with my daughter, still amazing, still friendly. I wish I could show you three orange chicken my daughter had and was amazed it was so good, but she didn't let it sit around long enough to get a pic. Instead here are some amazing potstickers

This restaurant was amazing not only food but staff and guests. My grandpa fell on the sidewalk outside and they went above and beyond helping my grandpa up as well as another customer and offering him water to clean up. Fortunately he is ok we stayed for lunch and it was so good I had the ham fried rice with veggies it was AMAZING. They kept asking if he was okay my grandpa. Seriously this restaurant showed us humanity and how amazing and kind the world can be.

I appreciate that they had later hours yesterday. I have ordered take out twice and both times the food was consistently good and so was the service. The location is fairly convenient and parking is ample. They’ve definitely taken major measures to protect themselves and the customer during the pandemic. I will be back.

The green beans with beef are amazing! The beef is velvety and the brown sauce is rich and delicious. Great fried rice too, very flavorful. Make sure to get a side of dumplings and dip them in the chili oil!

I was introduced to this super restaurant. With the name"David's Kitchen," you might just drive by not knowing this is the best Chinese food restaurant period anywhere. Even China itself. I could tell all the food served to me was literally prepared right before it was set before me. The food was so fresh. Texture and flavor of everything was perfect. The server helped me when I told her I didn't like plain rice. I told her when I eat plain rice, it has no flavor. She made suggestions to help my rice taste great. Then made sure that happened. By the way, the rice was light and fluffy. I've been to Chinese restaurants where the "scoop" of plain rice on my plate was in a ball because the rice was all stuck together. Rice shouldn't come in the form of a "baseball." David's Kitchen served their rice in a bowl. Perfect. This restaurant is like so many in the Salt Lake area. It's just is special because the owner and all employees care to make it that way. There are so many things that are right about this restaurant discovery. Please know I am 62 years old. Trust me. I've had plenty of time and experience to try several, I mean lots of Chinese restaurants around the country. This one by far is the best. People, treat yourself to a visit at "David's Kitchen." Stay away from those restaurants that just serve heated food from their freezer. I really can't say. But, I bet there's a high chance "David's Kitchen" probably doesn't even have a food freezer. Their food tastes that fresh. They will have my business for the rest of my life. And I'm definitely spreading the word. Thanks "David's Kitchen" for opening my eyes and treating my taste buds. You made my day!! PS. The best cream cheese wontons on the planet.

Went to David’s the first time to meet a friend for dinner. Met the owner, Henry, who was fantastic! Service was excellent! Had the pot stickers as an appetizer. Amazing! Very good. We ordered the beef with green beans, which by the way is to die for! The chicken recommended by our waiter, which was excellent as well & the walnut shrimp! So so good! Not overly sweet! Have returned for lunch & dinner again since! My son tried the sesame chicken & it was very good! I highly highly recommend trying this restaurant if you have not! Best Chinese food in Utah in my opinion!!!
