Very good option for meat lovers, the traditional gaucho style of delivering food to the table is an experience and if you add good quality meat, a great parrillero and a knowledgeable waiter, the result is guaranteed.
Nice place, come hungry. Lots of all kinds off beet served on skewers... take all you want. If you leave this place hungry somethings wrong. Nice atmosphere and the wait staff are very friendly and Johnny on the spot. Not as good as competitor down the street but still a great experience.
I received a coupon in a mailer for Galpao Gaucho, so my wife and I decided to try out a Brazilian restaurant for our first time. I must say, it was *incredible*. We just went with our server's recommendations, and it didn't disappoint. We went the full 9 yards with drinks, desert, and after dinner coffee/liquor. Well worth our hard earned money!
If you have ever wanted to know what it feels like to be royalty, this is your place. I have not been to very many high end restaurants, but I left Galpão Gaucho feeling like I got my money's worth and more. The service was the best and couldn't have been better. The servers and the waitstaff, were very friendly and helpful. The food was AMAZING! Compaired to other Brazillian Steakhouses of this caliber the prices were very reasonable. This is my new favorite restaurant in San Antonio.
Our first experience with this place. The food was very good. Great salad bar. Service excellent. These Brazilian steakhouses are always a little frenetic with waiters almost running to serve the meat/chicken/fish. I guess that's what it takes to make the system work, but it is not relaxing unless they seat you away from the main path from the kitchen which was not where we were seated. The price was fair, drinks good. We'll go back.
Wonderful, family owned restaurant with top notch service and food. We even had the honor of meeting one of the owners, which seems rare these days. Our kids enjoyed the food, and my husband loved the meat selections.
Excellent food and service. Definitely recommend this place. They have an amazing salad bar and also offer fish included in the meal.
Caipirinha is the house drink very refreshing and delicious!!
The Brazilian concept is awesome, and I'm a huge carnivore so this place makes me happy. Meat is always cooked perfect. Anything bacon wrapped is a MUST. The polenta is also a MUST. Everything from the atmosphere, cleanliness, and the service is wonderful. The size of the salad bar is even great. You could come here to make the salad bar your whole meal if you wanted to! The meat is all obviously fantastic, and the selection is great too. I definitely recommend.
Love this place! They hold their own with the best Brazilian spots in town but slightly cheaper prices with a more laid back atmosphere! Can't go wrong here!
Will Dine Again. Couldn't get a reservation at the other place, so we decided to try this one. Really glad we did! The service was impeccable.
Great servis they make you feel at home with class. The salad bar is small but fresh. The sides are ok and hopefully will get better . The main course is plentiful and sieved with a smile. There is no rushing to the great sweet at the end of the meal. All in all a very nice place.
Authentic Churrascaria!!!. So we tried Galpao for the first time and man am I glad we gave them a chance!!!!
Facilities: Outdoor patio, it is a pretty large patio. Indoors there is a feeling of a homegrown place where one automatically feels welcomed and taken care of.
The salad bar was a bit smaller than the others out there but quite honestly I didn't miss the shiitake mushrooms and the likes because what was on that salad bar was fresh and in my opinion enough.
Prepared salads: The potato salad was authentic Brasilian potato salad (has corn in it.. but don't be alarmed... give it a chance you will most certainly be glad you did).... Amazing... And chicken salad? I actually went for seconds!
Side dishes: There is a side dish bar (opposite of the salad bar) you must give the fried bananas a try! They were amazing, there was some type of batter on them. They were great.
Meats: All the meats circulated by our table and *** this is the most important part*** the meats were served at the temperature requested (major points for Galpao) Even the lamb chops made an appearance, something I had given up hope at other chains... The chicken (something I don't normally order because let's face it.... we can eat chicken at home...) was very juicy and perfectly seasoned! beef tenderloin was great and of course the picanha as succulent as always!
Service: Galpao has a a way of giving each guest undivided attention plates were replaced so swiftly and without much notice as well as refills of drinks. You feel the pride the staff has for its product. The meal is effortless and calm which to me is priceless! (my biggest qualm with churrascarias is the "rushed" feeling) something I did not experience at Galpao, thankfully!
What makes a great restaurant to me is service, quality, ambiance and ease so because this is what I am looking for and Galpao delivers on all categories, amazing service staff, fantastic quality of meats served at temperatures requested, and a effortless ease meal!
Galpao is the authentic churrasco that has been longed for! I will certainly be back!
Visited on a week night and it was very slow. The food and service were good. The flan was awesome! While good, I don’t know if it was worth $75 per person with drinks and dessert. Items were missing from the salad and warm bar which wasn’t as extensive as other Brazilian steakhouses in town.
Very delicious food! Highly recommend for some tasty and flavorful Brazilian Steakhouse. A ton of variety and they offer meats routinely. Drinks have lots of flavor. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
We had a party of 20 for my girlfriends bday. We were not disappointed. This place was very good. Service is what you expect when slending this amount of money for dinner. Food was very well prepared and not over salted like other Brazilian steak house around Stone Oak. Would highly recommend.
Went here two weeks ago for Restaurant Week on a Wednesday Night around 7pm. I haven't been here in 5 years, but I brought my parents who had never been here.
The Salad bar was nice enough. Smaller than other Brazilian steakhouses, but it still had enough variety to satisfy you before the meat!
The Brazilian Limondada was good flavor wise, but not really cold. It had ice in it, but it was warmish.
When we flipped our cards to "ready to eat" , it took 10 minutes before someone came by. This was more a slowly-eat-and-talk meal than servers-come-by-and-fill-you-up-quickly meal. Once people came back to back to back, but more often than not we had to wonder when the next one would come. The food isn't as frequent as some of the other Brazilian steakhouses.
We never saw some of the meat options and completely forgot they did grilled pineapple!
The desserts were small but good. We had to take the home and eat a few hours later as we were full! The three of us got the 3 desserts on the menu (chocolate cake, cheesecake and tres leches) and shared them between us. 2 of us really liked the chocolate cake and 1 of us really liked cheesecake.
The Restaurant Week menu says $45 for dinner and dessert, but they charged us $57 (the normal price of the menu). We pointed out the mistake w/ the restaurant week menu price point and they fixed it immediately.
First time here. Karloz was our Host and he was Fantastic! He checked on us often, he made sure that all of the meats we wanted were brought to our table often as well as the side dishes. The salad bar had a good variety of fresh vegetables, cheese, meats and even some fruit! Very impressive service, wonderful atmosphere, it was like being served by family. We will be back soon, we want to try the Sunday Bruch next time. We Highly Recommend this Brazilian Steakhouse!
Just ate here after being away for a few months. The manager working during my visit, I think his name was Manuel was very welcoming and professional! He checked on our table throughout our dining experience! Our waiter Carlos Gonzales and Eddie we’re always standing by to top off drinks or sides! Each server was friendly an offer to bring any of the meats we desired! Excellence the entire time with no complaints!
I loved it. Great service. I mentioned I was military and they took great care of me and my guests. When I went they had a promotion and didn't allow military discount, but the Restaurant week discount was a great alternative. What I didn't like was that they don't have unlimited refills on tea, but they did offer me unlimited refills on their 100% delicious Brazilian Lemonade. I highly recommend their Brazilian Lemonade. I liked all the meats that weren't pork because I don't like pork. I highly recommend their salad bar and their complimentary bread biscuit like treats. Definitely returning again and again.
Absolutely AMAZING! My husband and I come here almost every date night! It has NEVER disappointed! We tried the “specialty coffee” made by Carlos Torres, he was phenomenal the entire night and especially with the drink performance. The entire staff is welcoming and friendly. The best steakhouse I’ve been to in San Antonio! For the quality of the food, atmosphere, and drinks it is very much worth it!
Very cozy Brazilian restaurant. We went at 1730 and we pretty much had the place to ourselves until around 1830 when a few more folks showed up. The hostess was great and attentive. She made sure that our cups were never empty and our plates were fresh, and the food showed up as soon as we tuned on the green light! Very excellent choices of meat. My favorites were the picanha offerings, three different types and the top sirloin as well as the chicken. To many more to list here, everything was delicious! Big shout out for the roasted pineapple! That was a delicious piece of heaven on a fork! If you want a very intimate experience, you will certainly appreciate the cozy atmosphere of this quaint hidden treasure. It will be on my list of favorites from now on.
Food was excellent...when we could get it. We got seated in the front near the bar and had to ask many times to have the meat brought over. We could see them circulating around the main dining room but seldom came to the front. We sat a couple of times for about 10-15 minutes with nobody stopping by.
Besides that, the food was awesome. Plenty of different meats to enjoy and a very complete salad bar.
Mine and my wife first time and can't say enough greatness about this place. Carlos Torres was our server and he did an awesome job helping us and guiding us with food selection. The other servers who served the choices of meat were awesome and very polite and did not try pushing anything extra on us. Overall we had a great wonderful experience and we will be back here next weekend with family.
This is my favorite Brazilian Steakhouse in town. Where to start, the food is absolutely delicious! The variety is excellent as well as the quality. The service is impeccable! From the moment you walk in you are greeted and catered to. I felt really appreciated here. The employees are very professional and friendly, specially Carlos Torres and Veronica. Rest assured that we will be returning soon.
Just love it here. Date night, family dinner (kids under 6 are free), always a good time. My family and I have been a few times and have always felt their food and service were top notch - especially at such a great value (most reasonably priced Brazilian BBQ in San Antonio). New manager Corrine was really elevating service tonight though and we had the best experience yet.
This is a Churascuria, so you should know what you're getting and the price range coming in. Our family goes to Galpoa Gaucho two or three times a year, and we always enjoy ourselves. Our most recent time was no different. The service is always first rate, the food is excellent. The salad bar seemed a little less populated than previous visits, but all I can remember missing from before is salami and prosciutto; not really the highlight of a Brazilian Steakhouse. Our server Carlos was outstanding. He took great care of us and made sure we had all the sides and meat selections we wanted. Not a meat specialty, but don't sleep on the grilled pineapple when it comes by! Carlos also informed us that the restaurant is under new management, with all new staff over the last few months, and a name change coming. I hope and expect they'll keep the same level of quality and service. We will be back for sure.
Amazing restaurant. All the cuts of meat, chicken, and sea food were so savory and flavorful. Carlos Torres and Ramon made us feel like we were VIP. They made it a memorable experience for my father in-laws birthday. Cannot recommend enough!
It was our first time and the experience was amazing, the food was great, the restaurant was gorgeous but the absolute best part was the general manager Corinne. She walked us through step by step on what to expect, she made sure we had all we needed and by the end of dinner we made a new friend. We will definitely be going back again and again ♡
Phenomenal expierence. The food was on point, the servers were kind and courteous. Carlos Torres took care of our table and checked in at a perfect interval to make sure we had what we wanted and even suggested a few brazillian staples that they have upon request. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience.
