Lots of parking, no wifi, great and friendly service. Yaya's Thai restaurant is kid's friendly and large enough to accommodate large groups. The kids loved the cheese spring rolls and the shrimp in coconut. First we were served an egg soup (creamy egg yolk flavour thick and rich with shredded omelet). The shrimp coconut was delicious, a little oily but sweet, coconuty and delicious.
The special of the day, fried tofu and bok choy was a little salty, but needed since the tofu was blend. The bok choy were delicious, still a little salty. I mixed the rice in the remaining sauce and the salty taste was gone and again.... delicious.
The green curry was interesting with cucumbers and bamboo shoots. Spicy for some, but I enjoyed it.
I would go there again just for the shrimp and coconut appetiser.
Pad Thai again. Was decent. Had beef with medium spice. Noodles were only slightly over cooked and sauce was present but not too heavy. Would definitely get it again.
Spring roll was more crisp than filling and was meh.
Wonderful. Driving by, it doesnt look like anything special, but the place is beautiful inside, sooo comfortable, the staff is awesome and the food is even better!
Always fabulous! Very very fresh ingredients. Everything I've tried has been excellent. Waitstaff is wonderful as well! If you haven't been yet-try it soon!!!!
My favorite Thai restaurant!!. Hands down, best in town! I've checked out several Thai restaurants here in town and Yaya's takes the cake!
Very personable and friendly staff! Tanya, Oi, and Yaya herself are awesome women and I am pleased to give them my frequent business!
Their chef knows his way around the kitchen. I've tried several items and have enjoyed every last one of them! If you are short on time, you can run in, order a quick lunch, you're served a delicious soup of the day and your meal arrives quickly. The place is clean and offers a very nice ambiance! I come here at least once a week, and I'm not afraid to admit it, there have been a few weeks I come 5-6 times a week!
These folks work very hard and take great care in their food, flavor, presentation and all around experience....you can taste it in every bite!
There is nothing wrong with being predictable, especially for lunch specials. You've got a limited amount of time and you want to make sure that your lunch hour is not wasted.
In the Medical Center area, Yaya's on Callaghan is right on target. Place your order from the long list of lunch specials and in less than 5" your soup is served -- and it's good soup, too -- a clear broth with a bright flavor of lemongrass and a hint of scallion. There is a large helping of rice at the bottom of the bowl, too. The standards are offered and can include chicken, pork, beef, tofu or shrimp (shrimp is extra). All lunch orders include tea and the obligatory spring roll. The restaurant is spacious, pleasant and the service is prompt and friendly.
Our first time and we will be back. Everything was wonderfully fresh. Thai basil with tofu was great!
Fantastic Green Curry, fresh rolls and homemade coconut ice cream!
Wonderfully addictive. I am a travel nurse who is motivated/drawn to new places by the quality of the food it offers. I stumbled upon this place, Yaya's, about two months ago. I now enjoy the Panang curry w/ beef at least one a week. This dish is amazing!! I have not tried anything else on the menu, yet. Also, there is a nice waitress named Tonya who always greets me with a smile. I am trying to get up the courage to try another dish; but, Why? The Panang Curry is Wonderful and addictive! A MUST TRY
Best Tom kha ever! Delish. The ambience is great, too! The portions are huge. I can't wait to come back!
Was in the area running errands so I decided to check urbanspoon for any good restaurants nearby. ya ya's was rated pretty high so I decided to give it a try. Very glad I did. I ordered the chicken pad thai and hot and sour soup to go and was surprised to have fresh everything tasted when I finally arrived home. my pad thai could of been a bit spice here but that's my fault for not asking for it like that. The soup was miles beyond the bland one I had just 2 days ago at wok inn. I went just after lunch and the place was dead but the waitress was very helpful even though it was a to go order and I wouldnt be tipping very much. Ill definitely be coming back.
Amazing!!!!. I have been trying to get my fiance to eat Thai food for years, because it is my favorite. I could never even get him to try it until yesterday! He took me to Yaya's because I had been wanting to go for months. He didn't order anything, but I had the Pad Thai with tofu. I finally convinced him to try the tofu, and he ended up asking for more. Then he was brave enough to try the rest! Now he wants to go back this week so he can have his own plate! I'm so excited! Thanks Yaya!
Also, they have the best Pad Thai I have ever had!
Delicious. Absolutely wonderful! I enjoyed the blackboard lunch special, duck and red curry $ 8.99. What a deal! Started with a light broth soup. Entree: Large portion of duck, crispy, flavorful.. yummm. Red curry and vegetables in a bowl, very delicious. Portion of white rice.
Restaurant is clean and inviting. Waitstaff are very friendly.
Perfect place for conversation with a friend. I will definately be back. Marked as a favorite!
Enough GOOD things cannot possibly be said about this restaurant!!! A brief summary would be to say...the freshest ingredients, best server (Tanya) and good atmosphere made for an amazingly delightful Thai food experience. My family and I were beyond impressed. We have eaten Thai food throughout the U.S. and this is undoubtedly one of the BEST! Help them get their 2nd location going and pay them a visit...ask for Tanya!! So much for my 'brief' summary! Enjoy.
Yaya's = Delicious!!!. I was impressed with the food, service, cleanliness and the ablility to be able to hear each other speak. The food was freshly made to my liking and a lot of it. Could not eat it all so I have lunch for tomorrow. The owner & chef "Yaya" Sonya Buckman came out to greet me and the staff made me feel right at home. Tonya the waitress was very attentive and delivered excellent customer service with a Smile. Willis the Manager made sure I was taken care of and even tempted me to try dessert, which was a heavenly delight. Go stop by, have a bite and enjoy being catered to at "Yaya's"!
Fantastic find! Best Thai food in a long time!!!. Okay... I had the best meal tonight at Yaya's Thai Restaurant at Callahan and I-10 (where the Sprouts is; used to be an Italian restaurant). It was super clean, the staff was very friendly (Tonya was our waitress and Willis was the manager... both VERY customer oriented!) and the Chef/Owner, Sonya "Yaya" Buckman, came out and talked with us herself. The food was VERY fresh and obviously made just for our order. The deserts were to die for! Give it a try!!!
Awesome. Food and service were incredible! This is definitely a new favorite.
We have eaten at Yaya's at the Callaghan and IH10 location several times. The food has always been excellent, comes out fresh and hot. The wait staff is knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. Good service, large portions, very reasonably priced. Best of all, one can take their own wine (which helps keep down the cost of eating out), and they there is no corkage charge. Excellent neighborhood restaurant.
Everything was delicious. Egg rolls, pad thai, and cheesecake tempura :) we split each course and we were both satisfied. So going back.
Delicious. Best Green Curry I've ever had. Got it togo and the portions were great, perfect amount of spice, and every part of it was well done. Staff was friendly and fun. Was only my first time here but I'll definitely be back.
Yaya's=Yumyum. Just tried Yaya's Callaghan location and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. It's located in a semi-sketchy shopping center, but don't let that prevent you from going inside. It was a very nice place, clean and fairly large. Customer service was awesome and the food is even better. Wanted something light for lunch so I chose the shrimp and avacado salad and a cup of the Tom Yum. The salad was large and included very fresh ingredients. The soup is addicting... so yes, i ate every last piece, but i don't have that 'gross/weighed down by a ton of food' feeling. This is a good lunch option for anyone working in the medical center.
Classy looking dining area, convenient location, fast service, and friendly staff. Although thai food isn't my favorite, I was impressed with how it was presented, and I'm looking forward to trying more dishes there in the future. I loved the soup that came with the meal- so flavorful!
Food is incredibly awesome duck was unbelievable, service was great im definently coming back.
Great lunch spot. A complete do-over from the previous tenant (Madras Pavillion) results in a smaller, tastefully decorated place. Lunch specials (M-Sat) were great, with a bit more variety than I'm used to at the other Medical Center area thai spots-green curry, panang curry, pad-won-sen were all great. Looking forward to further sampling from their menu on a repeat visit.
Good choice of tasty π food. All the dishes which we ordered was yummy. I really encourage every one try potato soup π₯£ and fried rice entree. Will come back. Loving from Dallas
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This place is absolutely amazing.
Everything is made fresh!
All the ingredients are fresh!
They use little to no oil, talk about fresh!
Perfect just perfect!
I highly recommend trying the
Drunken Noodle Chicken hot π₯
A really nice place, went for dinner on a Saturday night and it wasnβt busy at all. The service was fast and friendly. The food came out quick and was good too. The only downside was that the bathrooms need repairs otherwise a really nice place.
Great lunch!! Fantastic service. Had the chicken eggrolls and chicken cashew. Along with hot and sour soup. Everything was great tasting. Will be coming back. Huge lunch portions
Very delicious potato soup, egg rolls and fried rice . Highly recommended. Staff is very courteous and we got quick service. Enjoyed the food.
Amazing and sumptuous food! Lovely presentations. Have been here several times and not disappointed even once. They have the best sticky rice and mango in town ! The noodle soup is so flavourful ! The Green curry has been our favorite π
A good place to eat and have quick lunch. Their staff is knowledgeable and cooperative. Maintain cleanliness in restaurant. Right now they appear to be short staffed and the service is slower than usual. The food quality and taste is very good. They are located in a small market with very limited parking space. Sometimes the parking can be challenging during rush hours.
My boyfriend and I decided to eat at this restaurant without knowing much about it. When we walked in, there weren't very many people seated. We were told to pick our seat so we did.
It did take some time to place our drink order. I later overheard the woman serving everyone that she was the only one helping customers.
My boyfriend and I were debating between appetizers. We picked the vegetable egg rolls so we were surprised to receive the spicy edamame. I didn't want to send the food back so we kept that appetizer instead. If you like or love spicy foods, you must try this appetizer. The sauce was spicy but not so spicy it couldn't be eaten. It also had flavor to it. We ate the whole bowl!
We then received our entrees. I wanted a similar base to the Pad Thai but I didn't want to eat the usual so I ordered the Thai Chicken Peanut. The sauce is on the sweeter side but I enjoyed it. The chicken was sliced in thinner pieces and was accompanied by white vermicelli noodles and vegetables. I added some hot sauce and it balanced out the sweetness of the peanut sauce. I absolutely enjoyed this dish.
We were also given our original appetizer order at no charge. She also apologized for the mix up. I appreciated the gesture!
Love the peanut sauce. Tried the fried dumplings, lettuce wraps and the healthy soup. Delicious, hot and great service.
I got the Thai Sweet & Sour Lunch Special. Food was good, servers were nice and the food came oit pretty quick, I would definitely come back and recommend this place π
Great hidden gem of a restaurant!
The business is clean and well-maintained, service is spot-on, the food is tasty and reasonably priced.
Tried the Wild Curry on my last visit. MY favorite dish so far! Loved the mix of veggies and the tasty red curry.
Liked it so much, I got an order to go for a friend.
Highly recommended!
This delcious dish is called Num Prik Pao. Stir fry veggies (green peppers, onions, shrooms, scallion and carrots) in Thai chili sauce mixed with peanuts. It came out π₯ straight from the wok. Good the best the lunch rush. TGIF ππΎ. Ya Ya is located next to Las Palapas and in the same shopping strip as Sprout supermarket. #thaifood #numprikpao #stirfry #veggies #tgif #fridaylunch #yayathai #sanantonio #food
Excellent, fresh , delicious food..ordered fresh spring rolls, lettuce wraps, Thai sweet & sour pork with brown rice. Ms Bah who took phone order was very nice & friendly. Hoping the same service & scrumptious food will be all the time as we will be repeat customers.
First time in tonight. Food was delicious! Appetizers and meal were a great value too. They were a bit short staffed at the start, but the waitress was incredible. She handled several new tables, ringing phone, and to go orders effortlessly and still provided great service with a friendly smile. Dining area and bathrooms were clean. We'll certainly be back!
We went in an hour before close and the restaurant was empty. The server was very pleasant and sat us promptly. We ordered the cheese rolls (which weren't amazing but we're decent), pad woo sen (which was amazingly delicious), curry (very flavorful), and mango sticky rice (which came with an abundance of perfectly ripe sliced mango). All portions were incredibly generous and could easily feed two people.
I would highly recommend trying this restaurant out!
Crispy coconut shrimp, incredible green curry, rice was just right.
This was my first time here. I had the hit & run duck with veggies. Fantastic dish! Duck is not the easiest to prepare, but theirs was crispy on the outside & moist on the inside. The sauce had great flavor. I even ordered one to take out because it was so good. My husband loved it, and he is very picky about food. Nice laid back atmosphere with good service.
I love this place! Their Shrimp Thai noodle soup is my go to, even in the summer. My waitress today was super sweet. I highly recommend trying it and supporting small business. It seems like they are struggling as they are closed weekends. I encourage the support.
