A little service goes a long way. What a great experience tonight at Checo’s. I saw a plate on the menu that included a variety of grilled veggies. But I was also tempted by the parillada for one. The waiter was very accommodating and added the grilled veggies in place of rice. The parillada was tasty with chicken, beef and sausage. The service as attentive and friendly. Happy to come back for another visit.

Craving Chilaquiles and popped in here on a whim! Excellent! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the salsas are really good! Refried beans were good too! And the potatoes made the dish- they are fried perfectly and chunky - so good They don’t come with cheese so it was 1$ extra and the tea is large for $2.55 - it was enough for two ppl😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🧚‍♀️❤️I’d come back if I were out here again! They also advertise $3.50 margaritas every day! I didn’t have any of those … it’s only 0930😂and I’m not on vacation😂the best part is that my waitress had to leave early and she came by my table and said, “ If I don’t get back before you leave, have a good day!” And SMILED! Perfect! Thank you! Oh- PS- doesn’t come with tortillas but you really don’t need them!

This place is truly a hidden gem in San Antonio! We came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday with another family. Friends had told us about this place that is tucked away in a corner of this unassuming shopping center that frequently come here for lunch from work and for happy hour, so we took their advice. We arrived and got a bit worried as the place for completely empty. But I suspect this is a place that does really well during lunch hours and happy hour and we came after 7pm for dinner. In any case, the staff was super friendly and arranged a table for us right away. We ordered several dishes from Tortilla Soup, Al Pastor Tacos, Shrimp Enchilada, Enchiladas Verde, and everyone raved about their meal. I had ordered combo enchiladas (1 traditional cheese, and 1 Chicken Verde), and it was excellent dish. The Beef taco that came with the combo wasn't that great, but the enchiladas were fantastic. We ordered a few desserts and the ladies heard it was my daughters birthday, so they came out SO festive with a special dessert for my daughter and singing happy birthday over and over for her. they brought our huge Sombreros for all the kids. We started taking pictures and they brought out a "Happy Birthday Frame" which they held for my daughter as we took pictures. Such a wonderful group of people that were making us feel super special! Food was great, but the staff made it truly wonderful experience for us!

Pretty good food. Prices not too bad either. The tortillas were not what I expected, taste like store purchased. Service is great! Will I go again, oh yes?

My wife and I dined here after learning about it on next door. It did not disappoint. Homemade flour and corn tortillas and salsa. I had Maria's plate and my wife had the verde enchiladas. Both were delicious. Come and try it out. We will be back.

Went back for dine-in to check up on consistency. It was even better than the first time. The food here reminds me alot of Mi Tierra, this is definitely a Wonderful dine in experience place is very clean. HIDDEN GEM. All this place needs is a bigger location and a drive thru window ! The micheladas are huge and very well priced along with the avocado ceviche ! BEST CHURRO STYLE BEANS IN SAN ANTONIO- chicarron, bacon bean and they smell like my moms homemade beans they are so freaking amazing. The family got chicken enchiladas, beef and cheese enchiladas, shimp and fajitas, and carne guisada. THE CARNE GUISADA WAS LEGIT AND THE MEAT WAS PERFECTLY COOKED and very tender thick pieces and the sauce was flavored perfect 👌!!! Everything was delicious and had the best flavor. Leans more toward tex mex. Rice tastes fantastic, chips and salsa delish! Flour tortillas are perfect. This is a homerun for me for anyone craving an authentic san antonio mexican experience pick up an order here! Restaurant is spotless, their inspection on the wall said 100/100 and the entire staff was wearing masks even with the store not having any customers inside when we walked in felt very safe. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS 100%

Came with entire family (group of 5) and was seated down quickly. The guy who took our order and brought our drinks promptly had great customer service skills as well as our waitress. Food quality was great except for some chewy fajita pieces but it wasn't bad (decent prices as well). Really loved the handmade tortillas ❤! Would come back to try other dishes on another trip to SA.

Nice service. Good lunch specials. Great tortillas:) Have visited a 2nd time now and I took my husband this time. This will surely become my new favorite restaurant. I had the Mexican Flag Enchiladas and my husband had a combination of Sour Cream and Verde Chicken Enchiladas. Once again it did not disappoint. It was all delicious. Service was great once again and will be sure to take my mom from out of town the next time to try their cabrito. There are not a lot of places that serve this. Hope to be back soon.

Better than average tex mex fare can be had at this lively and colorful strip mall eatery. The prices were appropriate for the generous but not over large portions. The wait staff were friendly, competent, and attentive. The decorations make this a pleasant lunch spot and a beautiful bar and big screen are nice additions as well. Overall, I would recommend anyone in the area looking for Mexican food on lunch to give this place a try.

Checked out this place today. The chips and salsa all home made..delicioso! Had the chicken mole enchiladas..shut ur mouth! Home made mole sauce the best I have ever had ANYWHERE! Wanted a gallon to take home...The rice...hmm..hmm good. People this is what Mexican rice should taste like.. The charro beans...had Chicharron and the ham hock (bacon) add their delicious habanero sauce... takes it to a whole other level...their lemonade was in a huge chilled mug sooo refreshing... don't think about coming.. JUST DO IT! U will not be disappointed. Maria was our waitress. She was great.. Montse..was another waitress soo friendly.. Met the owner Rosana soo freaking sweet..

This hidden gem was absolutely amazing! Went for breakfast and truly enjoyed the cozy place along with the food. It was so good that we had to return for dinner for the Margarita Monday happy hour! The cheese enchiladas were incredible and tasted like home to me. Our waiter did an incredible job as well. Can’t wait to return!

I like this restaurant. I'm vegetarian and the only option they have for me is the veggie quesadilla and i love it. It'd be nice if they had more veggie options. Also, I'd recommend making their food a little less greasy! Other than that they're great!

This restaurant is as many as the reviews says, it's impeccably clean and has a happy, very festive atmosphere. The staff is also very nice and helpful. We ordered the beef fajitas and taco plates which had plenty of food, however, we didn't like the quality of the meat. It was very fatty, and difficult to cut. Also, for soda lovers, this place doesn't have fountain drinks, it has soda cans so you're paying for each one ordered. Prices were reasonable. Overall would recommend, but maybe try the chicken.

Quick, hot, and good food here for a good price. The service was good as well. I've found that tex-mex restaurants make the best diner style breakfasts and have great coffee and this certainly delivers on that. I Definitely would come back. The only issue I had with my food was that not all of the potato chunks in my Huevos Ranchero order were completely cooked all the way, but it was only a few. Otherwise it was fine.
