We visited Garcia’s for the first time today. Heard about it from the New York Times of all places in a top 23 food selections in the USA. WOW. We were not disappointed. We both had the NYT recommended brisket taco. I had two actually. The brisket was so good I’d put it up against the best I’ve had — smoky, tender and great bark. A smear of guac on the provided pico de gallo with green hot sauce and AWESOME. we also got the spicy pinto boracho bean side which was homemade and delicious. When we arrived there were as many people outside waiting for a table as there were seated inside eating. But it was a happy crowd all around. No one minded waiting. No one tarried at a table after eating. Service people couldn’t have been better.

Had to check out one the “top 25 dishes in the country” according to New York Times. Was weird that a Mexican food place got the honor for a BBQ like taco (brisket taco), so I had to try it! Taco itself was really good. Brisket was perfect. And I had recently eaten at Reese bros a couple days back so I had set my standards high. Wasn’t at Reese level, but definitely surprisingly good for a Mexican food joint. Enchiladas were ok, rice and beans were what you would expect for a great Mexican restaurant, rice was super flavorful. Carne guisada was good. My favorite thing I tried was the crispy meat taco of all things. We waited for a table for a while, like 30 minutes, the place was PACKED and small. Service was Excellent! Vicky was our waitress and she was super sweet, professional and attentive. Will definitely be back.

Food was delicious as always!!! Love the brisket nachos! I always order 12 and can only eat 5. The Deluxe Mexican plate offers a little bit of everything and is large enough that you can share.

Very small, BUT GREAT RESTAURANT! There's usually a wait, but it generally moves along well and is definitely worth the wait. I've tried the pork carne Guisada, brisket taco with Avacado, enchilada plate, and fideo Loco. These dishes were on 2 different visits. The wait staff is nice and very attentive. I'll definitely be returning again. 🤌🏽

Heard about Garcia's brisket tacos and had to try them out. Ordered carne guisada and brisket tacos to go. The restaurant is pretty small, and there is usually a wait. If dining in, you have to get on the wait list. The dining room is small but comfortable area with a generally pleasant atmosphere. The carne guisada taco was on the smaller side as compared to other places in town but was tender and tasty. The portion size is still filling. The brisket taco was surprisingly delicious. It's packed with flavor, tender, and just right for my taste. Overall, it was an excellent choice, and I'd recommend it, as a must try!

I went in with no expectations, but the brisket tacos (with guacamole) blew my mind, and I still can't stop thinking about how amazing it tasted! The service and atmosphere were great, very homey and an awesome spot for breakfast/brunch. Can't wait to go back!

As soon as you enter you know you're in for something good. The food and service are both stellar. I love their take on authentic dishes. The brisket nachos are phenomenal.

From the second you walk into the door you realize this might be a new place for you to come on a regular basis. I've been here a while back but I'd forgotten about it and my friend I was riding with suggested it as we came around the area... I owe that friend a debt of gratitude, and maybe a taco, lol.... Carne guisada, yes please. Brown gravy, yes please. My fav. First time to try the brisket taco not the last! That brisket was just so tender and juicy and delectable. A little bit of fat on it but you know I always say "if there's no fat there's no flavor". Just cut it out yourself because you need that for the flavor. It was so good I was tempted to place an order, they have where you can order like a half a pound or a pound of brisket, WHAT?.. I will be back for that lol. My friend had the chorizo and potato taco and said it was really good. And we both had a bean and cheese taco and both very pleased. I have to always try those anywhere I go because if you can't make a bean and cheese taco you can't make tacos. And let me tell you Janice was incredible. What a friendly smiling face. And she stayed perky the entire time. I watched her greet people at the door that were obviously people she had served before, everyone was so friendly. It's not on my route, or my general route, or it wasn't LOL but it is now.

I recently dined at this Tex-Mex gem, and I must say, it deserves every one of those five stars! The brisket taco here is an absolute masterpiece, rivaling even the most renowned brisket joints. The meat was tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. This place has truly set the bar high for its competitors. I'll be coming back for more, without a doubt!

This place is an absolute hidden gem of San Antonio. I lived 20+ year in San Antonio and only learned about this place after I moved. Now, it is a MUST VISIT every single time I am back in San Antonio. The brisket tacos are out of this world. Very good bean and cheese and bacon and egg tacos as well. Location is a pretty small, it fills up quick. Service is very good and the again the food is extremely delicious.

Small local spot just off of I-10. There will be a wait bit it’s totally worth it. The food is so yummy and delicious and there’s a bit of something to please everyone. The tortillas are awesome. Puerco (pork) is melt in your mouth delicious. They even have brisket tacos! Everything was good. Staff is friendly and welcoming too.

OK to be fair when I first came here about 3-4 years ago I was skeptical about the brisket tacos. I do not eat brisket tacos anywhere in Texas because nobody makes a good brisket taco.. OK that being said I’m glad I tried the brisket taco here on recommendation from my friend Daniel Martinez because it’s the best freaking brisket taco ever looks dry but when you bite into the taco it’s really juicy and you can taste the smoke that they used to cook it I’d highly recommend this restaurant. But also the brisket taco and the Papa con huevo taco is the real winner here !!! That’s why I come here for the papa con Huevo taco because it’s made different from any other place to go to it’s more of a Smashy type mashed potato and egg taco but it’s awesome you should at least try it once

I've lived in San Anto since 1972. Today is the first time I've ever eaten at this local legendary place. They live up to the hype on their brisket taco. And yes, they do truly have one of the best interpretations of this areas Tex-Mex versions of cheese enchiladas. Using a medium Cheddar cheese and rich chili beef gravy, commonly known as Chili con Carne. They will even serve this deliciousness in a cup or bowl! I am regretting how long it's taken me to get here, especially since I used to live in this area earlier in my single life. Don't make the same mistake I have. They're open Tuesdays - Saturdays 7-2 p.m. Come and taste what those locals "in the know" have been cultivating for years.

Small, diner type restaurant with AWESOME brisket tacos. A little bit of a wait to get seated but that’s because they're really popular. It's worth it!

Interesting little restaurant. Visited for the first time. I'd never heard of this place until a friend drove me over to it. I was surprised by the number of people coming and going from this small restaurant. The brisket taco with guacamole came highly recommended, so I decided to give it a try. Along with the tacos we ordered from brisket nachos an drinks. All our food came out fairly quick, we did have to correct an item, but it was taken care of quickly without issue. The brisket tacos while a bit small, had a ton of flavor, for not being a BBQ restaurant this place had some amazing brisket. I started to wonder if they were in the wrong business because it was better than many BBQ places I've been to. Everything I tried was great, and I would definitely return to try some more items. While not the cheapest of places to eat, if your looking for unique twists and amazing flavors this is a great place to try.
