Delicious, super clean and cheap.. I keep going this place over and over and I dont get tired. They have a menu with lot of choices tasty and authentic. Something that I like is that they serve in clay (barro) plates, and till this day I haven't found anything that I don't like here. They are quick to serve and the owners are very nice people.
Flavorful Fresh Fish Tacos. Flavorful fish tacos here. Well worth the visit to this out of the way place. The shrimp tacos were good but the fish tacos melted my heart for the subtle yet distinctive flavor of the fish tacos. Very Fresh.
Mariscos Marisol, it's the best real Mexican food, just try the molcajete or any of the tacos they have in their menu, just the best taste. Really good food hands down.
Wonderful family run little-hole-in-the-wall. They have the right taste, which is quite a complimemt for a mexican restaurant in san antonio. Great seafood and friendly service. Qualty food, but low prices. Breakfast tacos rock, but huevos rancheros is still my favorite breakfast. Always a good meal!
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN THE CITY!!!. Our family lives just a mile or so away from this restaurant. We had always gone to Aguascalientes which is right around the corner from Mariscos and my husband kept telling us we were missing a bet. About a year ago, we decided to try Mariscos and have been back at least 3 times a week since then. Carlos and his wife are the epitome of great hosts and the food that is served is ALWAYS the best. The Migas are delicious, the 5 small tacos and beans for $5.00 is unbeatable and the Molcajete is sublime!!! This past Monday, we pulled up and the restaurant was closed and we had to go to Aguascalientes. LAST TIME EVER. Dinner for 4 was $48+ and the food paled in comparison to Mariscos. The service couldn't compare either. We tell Carlos we love him everytime we go and it's the TRUTH!
Worth the drive North!. Ill start off by saying that I am writing food network to get these guys highlighted in a special. Yes the food was that good. The owner, Carlos Castro, tripled up as host, waiter, cook and everything. Mariscos Marisol had the feel of going to visit family in Mexico, you know, that one Tia that makes the best everything! The caldo was the best I have ever had, and the Molcajete Mixto is San Antonio's secret treasure! Great service and authentic great tasting food make Mariscos Marisol worh the drive north! Hurry GO NOW!
We’ve been coming here for about three years since we moved to the neighborhood, they are delicious. We prefer them to the other Mexican restaurant in the same shopping center. We usually get an assortment of tacos or enchiladas and have never been disappointed. The salsa is great, and so are the tortillas and coffee. Staff is always friendly too and prices are good. Great little spot, we only wish they were open for dinner too but we try and sneak out at least once a week for breakfast or lunch. 😊
I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 10 years, but reviewing after my first visit since the pandemic. This is my favorite go to place for real Mexican food. I've probably ordered just about everything from the menu and everything was delicious from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I would suspect those who don't like it are used to more Tex-Mex food than traditional Mexican food.
This visit I ordered 2 pounds of barbacoa, chilaquiles, breakfast torta, and a variety of breakfast tacos. My favorite is always the barbacoa as it's very lean and not greasy at all. Many places have barbacoa, but it's usually dripping with grease. Although it's lean, it's always very fresh and flavorful. The chilaquiles was really good, I prefer the green salsa, but the base of tortillas, crema, and queso fresco is what makes the dish. All the breakfast tacos are well-portioned and very good. The breakfast torta with machacado was a new item for me and glad I tried it. It was full of eggs, cheese, and machacado and not too doughy.
Beyond the food, the service is outstanding. Family owned and they are in the restaurant daily doing all the operations. Even after not going for about 2 years, Carlos still remembered the Pozole is another of my favorites and let me know they had some today. This is one of my go to spots for the great food and service.
I can not wait until I get to eat at this place again. So many amazing tacos. First, the lengua is freaking amazing. So tasty, so flavorful, just amazing. The tripas were even better. Not too crunchy but crisp to perfection. Next up the carne guisada, so good! The gravy really needed salsa but the soft tortillas really carry the tacos. My boyfriend also said the migas were generously served. The staff was friendly and attentive. 5/5 all the way.
This place is the best. I'm serious. I have NEVER in my life photographed my food before, but it was the only way to make the experience last longer. The restaurant is as authentic as it gets. The atmosphere is casual, and the service is friendly. The food will change the minds of people who don't like Mexican food, and set an impossible standard for people who do. Eat here, or just stay home. Don't bother trying to get a torta (or barbacoa) from anybody else. My one issue: my stomach is not large enough.
The last time I had the best posole was in Saltillo Coahuila, México. And that was 30 years ago. It brought back beautiful memories and the flavor of old Mexico.
Amazingly friendly staff!
Best torta's!
Great atmosphere!
I have been going to Marisol’s ever since I moved to Timberwood Park about 4 years ago. My wife, myself, and our children love going there because the food is always amazing, the staff is friendly and very good at what they do, and because this family owned business treats us like an extended part of their own family! So if you are looking for great authentic food from an amazing family owned restaurant, then Marisol’s is definitely for you!!
I ate lunch an Antojitos Maricos Marisol today. The tacos el pastor and the chilaquiles were fantastic! The food was very flavorful. The cook does an excellent job in preparing his food. The waitresses are outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Best Mexican food in town.
Great place salsa is good and tortillas are awesome
Nice little hole in the wall resturaunt. Made my list.
Just stopped by for a quick bean & cheese and bacon & egg. They were delicious and a great price. Muy authentico. Will be back to try the pastor mini tacos
Probably the best Mexican restaurant regardless of Tex Mex or pure Mexican food. All meals are flavorful & exactly as listed in the menu. This was written when it was a good place to eat. Recently July 2019 the service is outstanding: the prices are outrageously high and the food bland & tasteless. How is that possible at a Mexican restaurant
Great establishment. Food is always made to order nothing is sitting out in a bin waiting to be served so that’s why it may take a little longer than most places that serve tacos but it’s worth it. Love the chilaquiles, the tortas and most of all the pozole and menudo it’s amazing must try
Excellent food, great service and very reasonable prices. By far one of my favorite Mexican restaurants for lunch.
Ordered Breakfast to Go. French Toast was Delish. Breakfast Tacos were very stuffed with filling. Lunch Specials inc/ tea for $8.00. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
This place has some authentic mexican food. Clean,Friendly and GOOD FOOD!. Once your done with your Bike ride out at Bulis Park stop by and have some good Food! Or stop and pick up some food for a Picnic...Either way you gotta give it a try. Egg Sandwich is good.
This place was a VERY pleasant surprise! Four of us each ordered something different and it was all VERY good. Wonderfully friendly staff made the experience even more enjoyable.
