Highly recommended!. Like a quick trip to Mexico without the airfare or border crossing. The beef fajitas really were the best I've had - the meat was like steak. Excellent quac, pico de gallo and charro beans. The only thing I didn't care for was the salsa. Very reasonable prices and nice service. If you want tacos, they're hidden on the back of the menu under the breakfast items.

It's Worth a Quarter, and Then There's the Food. The terms Jalisco and Cabana are pretty popular for Mexican restaurants here in San Antonio. It's one of those "I wish I had a quarter for every" kind of things. Though the name may be a quarter a dozen (inflation), the food was inexpensive and tasty from the cheese enchiladas to the bean and cheese nachos. Wait staff was attentive with English as a second language communication; no problem though. Just lots of smiles. Would like to come back for breakfast as the tortillas were a definite invitation for speculation as to possible combination with fluffy eggs and breakfast meats.

Wonderful Breakfast Tacos. Walked into this very clean, very well appointed Mexican restaurant and ordered some breakfast tacos.
I ordered a potato and egg and the egg was freshly cooked and the bacon was thick and flavorful. I also had a picadillo taco. The beef was well seasoned and the potato was perfect.
A good experience.

We were served chips and house-made salsa, which were on the high side of acceptable. The chips had an unusual, but not unpleasant, aftertaste; the salsa had a good flavour, though not too piquant, but was pretty thin.

Fluffy, pillowy breakfast tacos that were nice and fat! And served hot! Can’t ask for more than that. Ordered bean and cheese, potato and egg, and chilaquiles. About $2/piece, a little more for chilaquiles and worth it. I could have got full on 2, but they were so good, I didn’t want to waste it! Took photos after devouring the first one 😅 Not too busy inside around 10:30, friendly waitress and cashier. This place has 4.6 stars when I went, which is high for a Mexican spot, and it was worthy of the rating. 5 stars all around. Will go out of my way to come back!

My friend suggested going here. I'd never been. Thank you friend. Clean little place. The service was good, they were kind of pinch hitting for each other. We ordered from one young lady another young lady delivered and then the first young lady came back to check on us so all in all we seemed to be taken care of very well. I had the flour tortillas on my tacos, you know I'm always looking for that magic flour tortilla. This was not it, but it was pretty darn close. My friend wanted to have a bean and cheese on corn tortilla. It looked homemade and they said it was fantastic so much so that they actually ordered another one lol. I had the carne guisada because my friend said that their friend said to try it. I love me the brown gravy. It was brownish lol. And the meat was tender and juicy. Could have used more Pepper for my taste but I can always add that. I was also excited when I saw that they had Winnie and egg Taco on the menu, you can't always find this. That was my childhood. It was good but as you can tell from the photo it doesn't seem like they fried the hot dog before. That's the weenie and egg Taco I grew up with. But it was pretty good. I will be back. Looking forward to trying lunch.

If you want wholesome authentic Mexican food, then La Cabana de Jalisco Mexican Restaurant is a place you want to eat at. From excellent service and delicious food, you can’t go wrong. Some places people eat at are about the ambiance as much as the food itself, but none of that is necessary here as it’s just part of it all. If you haven’t been here before, take the time to. You will not be disappointed.

The woman at the check register was very helpful in helping me understand if they had a plate I was interested in. The food came out great, even though I drove it home.

First time here. Great hole in wall the Mexican restaurant with a family environment. I had the following items, which were in good portions and full of flavor: the small Menudo bowl, the Barbacoa taco, and the Steak A La Mexicana!

Has good food. The only reason I give it a 4 star review is because of their tortillas. We tasted the flower and corn tortillas and did not like them. If you don’t mind the tortillas then this place is for you.

Best Mexican food in San Antonio. Without a doubt, the best homemade tortillas. I cant count the number of times we have been here in the past two years. The staff is all great from the waiters/waitress to the cooks and checkout. They were able to stay open during the worse parts of COVID to offer quick and accurate take out orders.

Currently working at a job site in the area, so I've been trying alot of new restaurants. The reviews for LA Cabana encouraged me to give it a try! I'm glad I did, because I had the best bowl of tortilla soup I've come across! The broth had clarity to it and tasted rich, perfect amount of cilantro, the avocado was fresh (hate bad or unripe avocado in tortilla soup). Pretty much perfect in all aspects of the soup and I was extremely satisfied!

Very local place with a local clientele, but don't let that put you off. It is very welcoming and the food is incredible. I could see myself eating here once a week if it was in my hometown. Bring cash though as there is an upcharge for CC's.

It was our first time there. The food was delicious and the service was great. The menu has a vast selection which made it hard to choose. Every time I felt ready to order, simething else caught my eye. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu

Drove in from Dallas had some time to kill till check-in. Found this spot on google and I’ll tell you what this is the best Mexican breakfast I’ve had in along time. Definitely will be coming back when ever we are in town.

The nachos were super good as well as the huaraches! I’ve been here a couple times as it’s super close by and never disappoints ! Dine in service is definitely better than the Togo service but that’s to be expected. I recommend the fideo as well as the nachos compuestos !
