Absolutely the very best Pork belly on steam buns in the city, maybe even Texas - to die for!!
I literally crave mings all the time. The only down side used to ever that you could only get it on weekends at the farmers market so I was dragging my ass out of bed at 8 am on a Saturday for some noodles. Now that they have their shop noodles are avaible all the time, thank god. My favorite order is the spicy sichuan noodles, "white girl spicy" with a sloppy on the side. Ask for extra ginger dressing too. So good.
Dynamite comes in small packages! Great food, great staff. Loved it!
Best Steamed Buns and Noodles in Town, and the sausages are mind-blowing.

Soup, noodle bowls, steamed buns - all flavorful and fresh! Friendly folks, too. Sit outside at a picnic table and enjoy!
Super good buns, in no time at all the food was at our table.
Outrageously yummy food!!! Everything we ordered was so flavorful & was enjoyed by my whole family.
We absolutely loved it!!!! The food was awesome! We will be returning!!
Noodles were excellent. The building and surrounding area is so adorable. Love the idea of the old train being converted into restaurant. Outside seating was lovely on a fresh day. Inside seating is available also. Unisex restroom. Chef šØāš³ that went to CIA .. local feral cats š lounging about.. the pulled pork steamed bun is out of this world! š» Great job.
1st time here but the food was great. The steamed buns were a great mix of flavors. And the daily special for tonight (I forgot the name) was so perfect I ate it too fast to savor it all. We'll definitely be returning soon.
Tucked away in a little red train car in San Antonio's Olmos Park neighborhood, Ming's Noodle Bar is owned by the charming Ming Qian who rocks magical unicorn hats and has the best mash-up of Chinese and Texas swag this side of the Rio Grande!
When I asked where she acquired her authentic knowledge of Chinese cuisine, she listed just about every relative, from her mom to grandparents to her husband. Originally from Beijing, Ming first brought her handcrafted delicacies, ready-to-eat noodles and buns to the Pearl Farmers Market in 2011. But as demand grew, she decided to open Ming's Noodle Bar with a menu featuring spicy ma la noodles, edamame rice noodle bowls, Asian chicken fajita steamed buns and more.
The vibe at Ming's is so mellow and casual that you might even catch local celebrity cats Frankie and Jerry hanging out and enjoying a spot of sunlight on the deck. This is the perfect spot to refuel mid-day if you're checking out the fantastic local shops in Olmos Park.
Spicy coconut noodles were excellent. I was so hungry but managed to pace myself to savor every slurp of the broth, noodles and melty pork belly. I love how they sliced the pork so you could control the proportions of each ingredient. Soul warming goodness on a chilly day.
I had dinner here last night and fell in love with their steamed buns. They also serve a delightful selection of Chinese sodas and beers. The decoration, especially the exterior, was quite adorable. I ordered the lucky dragon noodles and will be back to try the spicy Sichuan. Truly the best spot for Chinese provincial food in San Antonio.
Excellent noodles in a train car...fresh, nice portion...don't leave without trying the pork belly buns...2 wasn't enough.. courteous staff made it an enjoyable meal...
We ordered take out from Ming's Noodle Bar for the first time today and we are in LOVE! I had been craving a good vegetarian steam bun and my SO loves pork belly, so this place was perfect for both of us. Will definitely be back.
From the minute one walks into this establishment they feel so welcomed and appreciated! The staff is friendly as well as helpful when customers are reviewing menu items. The place is small but always very clean. Also, despite having only a couple people in the kitchen and always having a number of customers to serve, they manage to get the food out fast and it's nice and hot. Everything I've tried from here has been so delicious! I especially love the Sloopy!
Both dishes Iāve had are awesome. Definitely coming back
Mingās is definitely going on our list of places for my friends, boyfriend, and I are going to frequent! Their buns are deliciously well balanced in their flavors; we tried the noodle and pork belly one. Oh, man.. that pork belly.. amazing! The noodle bun was so fresh and the perfect texture as well. The mantou/ ābreadā on the buns is softājust as it should be!
We also tried out the spicy Sichuan noodle bowl and Thai curry noodle bowl. The spicy noodle bowlās egg noodles were texturally perfect. The veggies were crisp, fresh, and tasty. Authentic Thai flavors were found in the curry bowl!
Also, the location is just neat, as itās in a train car with indoor and outdoor seating! Iāve seen people complain about the cats, but honestly.. just ignore them if you donāt like their presence. Theyāre not aggressive, and they certainly wonāt pounce on you or at your food. I personally grew attached to a little chunky grey one, haha.
I was very excited to see that they have potato noodle soup on the menu! It reminds me of the Chinese Suan La Fen (é
øč¾£ē²ļ¼Itās different here, but comes with lots of veggies! I added vinegar and more hot sauce, and it tastes exactly like Suan La Fen and much healthier with the veggies. The pork belly bun is also very good! Yum!
This was a nice place for noodles and deconstructed pork buns.
The restaurant is located in a traincar so the seating space is a bit limited. This, however, works in Ming's favor. The few seats within full view of the kitchen make the atmosphere cozy and personal.
I got the spicy ma la noodles and was happily surprised that the broth was similar to what I ate in Shanghai. My family ordered the miso. It was a bit too sweet to be a true miso broth, but was very tasty. The deconstructed pork belly buns were very delicious. If I had more room in my stomach after eating my noodles, I would have ordered more.
Overall a very tasty restaurant with a very personal setting. Go out of your way to give it a try.
The place is a bit hidden from view but it doesnāt matter, once youāre there give the pulled pork in a bun a taste (I forgot what itās really called)...as a matter of fact get 2, or 3! They are delicious. The chicken noodles are also pretty bomb.
Take out was very good, the spicy coconut noodles tasted good. I would say maybe not a "I have to have this now!" Place but their vegan and vegetarian options are all quite good.
Mingās Noodle Bar is not just the best noodles (and steamed buns!) in San Antonio, but some of the best Iāve had ever... worldwide! Get out to Mingās sooner than later and youāll DEFINITELY be back! See them at The Pearl Farmerās Market as well!
I come here every time I am in San Antonio, I wished I had a place like this in Orlando to go to. Best bowls Iāve had, the pork belly steamed bao buns tacos are the best!
The inside and menu is small. But the food is really tasty, fresh, and pretty. I would recommend eating here if you are looking for something new to try out.
Really small shop, extraordinary service. The food is really good and you canāt beat the prices for the quality or quantity of food you get, wish there was more indoor seating for when it gets too hot or too cold outside, but thatās my only gripe, this place left a very good first impression weāre excited to start putting this restaurant in our rotation.
I crave this place more than anywhere else! Always fresh and perfectly seasoned- have tried several menu items and have never been disappointed. The guys who work here are always friendly as well.
