Always like Papa John's Pizza. When we travel we usually treat ourselves at some point (usually while watching a football game) to Papa John's. This one took a little while to deliver but I'm sure they were busy. Pizza was fresh and hot when it arrived. I will add, as many times as we've done this in MANY different cities, this is the FIRST and ONLY time they have ever delivered paper plates and napkins along with the pizza. Being in a hotel room that was a nice added touch. Kudos to whoever is managing this San Antonio Papa John's! Well done!
We never eat inside the store but we have gone in to order a few times. The staff is friendly enough. It is a small indoor area right in view of the sun plus all the ovens on so it stays hot inside. Food is always great.
My sleep schedule is off due to me just having a newborn 3 days ago. I called to make a delivery for dinner and as usual customer service rep by the name of Sam answered and said “the store is now closed sorry for the inconvenience” and hangs up. Mind you it was 11:08 I called back again says the same thing even tho I tell him the website says they close at 1am. So I took it upon my self and did an online order with really little to no hopes if they would accept my order. Well the store took my order right away and we’re able to deliver! It may not seem much for one but for a tired sleepless mom of 3 it means a lot! Really appreciate your work and effort you can really tell the dedication that goes to show, maybe re training the customer service reps to at least be a little more considerate you may never know who’s on the other side of the line.
The food & service were good, even though this downtown store focused on carryout & delivery. Atmosphere was ok; enough tables for dine-in, but just basic. We used a coupon to get a free medium 1-topping pizza & bought a large The Works pizza.
Carry out special was awesome! A large 1 topping pizza for less than $10 really hit the spot. It's great for lunch since it came out really fast! I highly recommend the stuffed crust pizza with chicken topping; it's my personal favorite. I also saw the advertisement for the 16" Shaq-aroni pizza on the window, and I can't wait to try it as well as the recent Jack-o-lantern pizza for Halloween yesterday. The rewards points are REALLY worth the effort -- I can't even remember how many free pizzas they've rewarded me; not to mention the deals and exclusive previews of new menu items like the new caramel Twix-bites that are first dibs (sometimes discounted too) for members. Two thumbs up to the Papa john's crew serving the downtown area!!
The place was close to closing time, and the guy who took our order was polite, welcoming, and helpful. The other guy working in the kitchen with him made a great team! Pizza was delightful!
My best friend was out of town and I call the store and Garret the assistant general manager when above and beyond to help me to make this pizza special for my friend birthday.. Garret thank you so much for your amazing help !!
Very nice location and they were conveniently open late. Was able to get carry out at last minute. Polite helpful staff. Food was made on tine too!

Door dashed my Oder - can’t complain of any employee. The food is what to be expected from a fast pizza place. Would recommend using fresh tomatoes next time, we couldn’t even finish our pizza due to the smell and taste of the tomatoes. Wing are a 7 out of 10. the Oreo dessert is 10/10 they were the only thing we finished..
Awesome and friendly staff. The new driver was polite and caring about the costumers safety during this pandemic. The order 100% accuracy and well made to detailed how I order it online. I'm keeping ordering from papa johns for years to come. Another pizza delivery has lost me as their costumer due to their rudeness and poor quality service
The guy there is always nice, I usually get carryout after my kids Dr appointment it's a nice treat. The pizza looks and tastes good, cheese stuffed is better than other chain Pizza. Love the green peppers and garlic butter that come with all pizza. Yummy!!
