Though Urban spoon indicates they are closed... Ruben's is open and still creating outstanding tamales. They do not take orders.... Everyone must stand in line which can exceed two hundred people constantly on the days leading up to Christmas. Yes, the tamales are that good! Definitely a must-have during the holidays. Enjoy!

Good quality and not greasy. Not a huge tamale fan but when I have them, these are some of the best in town.

We bought two dozen pork tamales for Christmas, and they met the hype! Very good, and not doughy! Too many times people have too much masa. Ruben's made them just right.

I highly recommend buying tamales here at Rubens. My family and I are very critical on tamales taste and these are so delicious. Best tasting tamales ever 😋 I can't eat enough. These tamales are the right texture.

Did not disappoint! We ordered Chicken, Pork, and Jalepeno Bean and Cheese. We couldn't wait to get home; we ate a few in the car before taking off. Great delicious tamales! Will recommend to everyone!

A bit late with this Review, but we have been buying Tamales from Ruben's for the last 12 years! The Pork and Jalepeno tamales are fantastic! We love them!

Christmas Eve 2020. Showed up at 6:45 out by 8:15am. Was not a good idea to beat the crowd and go early. The line was literally around the block...Not around the corner, but around the block!. There was no direct sun at 6:45. It was freezing. When I was driving away about 8:20 the line was around the corner. So it would have been better to show up at 8:20am when it's warmer and the line is shorter. They control the crowd by limiting how many people go inside the building. But once your in, your out in a few minutes. They have masks and following all safety precautions. The people behind the register seemed very friendly. I did this for my daughter. I would never do this crazy stuff for myself...lol. Update: Not sure if I was given old tamales. But when I got the first one out the Masa breaks.. I know that's a sign of dry tamales. And yep very, very dry, the meat is not strands. It is like polvorized. Almost looks fuzzy. The corn husks were pieced together and messy looking. I just don't see what the hype is about. Sorry but I'm honest in all my reviews. I won't change my star rating because it might be the Christmas rush and tired employees.

Good size tamale, flavor good, but a little dry. I did go towards the end of the day. I will have to go a little earlier.
