We were a party of 12!! 2 adults & 10 kids. Everyone thought it was the best food we've eaten all vacation! The service was Great, they accommodated the size of our party immediately & our waiter was fun & helpful!
Not had a pizza anywhere in the world that tops the pizza from here. Nice little ham and pineapple number with extra portion of spinach. Immense. Hit me.

Found our new Pizza spot! Great food...antipasto salad, chicken wings and of course best hand tossed pizza crust. Service and atmosphere nice as well.
Thank you for letting us take the patio last night, we all had a great time and we will always remember our times there which were many years. There is nothing bad from food to servers. Love you guys and will miss you.
My family and I have been coming here for years. The pizza is great. The dough and crust is so fluffy and the Shrimp Diablo pasta is awesome (My favorite) The service is nice too and very polite. The waiters are the Best. We'll continue you come here every time we're in downtown San Diego.
Pizza Bella is fabulous! Whether you come for the Sigma Chi (our first taste) or get wings/salad/cheese pizza (our usual) we have never been disappointed. Our family has celebrated birthdays (like our son's tonight) or my husbands Masters degree celebration with the whole family on the patio; they always take good care of us; Michael sees to it. Thank you guys so much
This place was phenomenal! Everything we had at the table was great! I highly recommend it.
The best Italian food in San Diego and we always get treated like family!
Really wonderful experience! A nice, old school red-sauce Italian place that reminded me of my childhood back east. Great pasta, superb garlic bread, baked penne on the menu. A nice Montepulciano at a very nice price. The minestrone soup was excellent; the salad great. Wonderful service, too! We'll be back to try the pizza.
This place is awesome, I have an Autistic son who only will eat pizza. When we visit San Diego I always call to get his pizza here! There food also rocks! And the Tiramisu is amazing. Excellent staff! Enjoy it every time we visit!
My first choice for real Italian food whenever I'm in the San Diego are. Very friendly and attentive staff. The food is delicious. Love the eggplant parmigiana. And the pizza too.

Fabulous food! The Spicy Shrimp Pasta was so yummy. Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner.
The food is amazing; the best pizza I have ever ate! Customer service also exceeded my expectations- my daughter was pouting because they did not have the drink she wanted. The amazing man serving us took the time to find out what was wrong with her and went out of his way to make her the drink she wanted. I wish I could relocate them to Nebraska!
Great food, great atmosphere, great service!! Highly recommend, a hidden gem!!
We love their food and we eat there anytime we are in San Diego! Service is excellent also.

Located in Old Town, Pizza Bella has been around for years but it’s been some time since I dined here. I was a bit taken aback to walk in and be told by a clearly flustered waiter that it would be about 10 minutes before he could take my table even though there were ample empty tables in the restaurant. Fortunately there was a female server who was able to seat me and wait on me after a couple of minutes. Even if flustered I would not recommend that being the welcome provided to customers entering the restaurant. I let the non-welcoming initial impression pass because I have always loved their bruschetta and had a taste for it.
I ordered the above mentioned bruschetta and a personal size pepperoni pizza with extra pizza sauce. As I’ve mentioned the Bruschetta is probably the favorite bruschetta I’ve had anywhere. It might not be the most authentic Italian bruschetta but it is just SO good. Everyone I have ever introduced to it has loved it. Today was no exception. The bread was perfectly toasted and the perfect amount of ingredients were used with a wonderful balsamic glaze spread beautifully across the plate. You can look at the picture to see what it looks like.
The pepperoni pizza with extra sauce was good. I wouldn’t say great. The pizza here has never been what I would call great and today was no different. It’s good. There’s plenty of cheese and ingredients. There just isn’t a ton of flavor in my opinion. It’s not something I would crave like I would some other pizza establishments.
The other thing I would say is that their prices are a little high for what you get. An appetizer of bruschetta shouldn’t cost the same as a pizza, no matter how good it is. And the personal 8” pizza started at $15.95 for only cheese with each additional ingredient bumping it up further.
My waitress was pleasant and friendly and did a great job getting the food out while hot and ensuring the meal was good. I didn’t catch her name.
Pizza Bella has parking available in the rear of the building and they offer both indoor and patio dining. The building has shared restrooms with the other businesses.
I took off a star based on the initial non-welcome, the somewhat elevated pricing and the fact that the pizza is good, not great.
Delicious pizza and salads. We also tried the lasagna which was very good. Prices are close to $20 an appetizer and dinner plate but everything tastes fresh. The tables and chairs are tight, close to other tables. If you back your chair up, you are hitting the neighbor. Kids loved their pizza and salad. Took some time to get seated. Wine selection was good, but no spumoni dessert!
A really nice Italian place in Old Town.
Seating and service: the open court yard is nice and very peaceful! The staff have always been very friendly.
Food: the pizza, penne, soup, and Cesar salad were all great! We went here twice actually in 1 week. The portions are very big! A small pizza feeds 2… easily! The large salad probably feeds 4 as a side!
Price: very reasonable for the quality and size!
Service is excellent, portions are huge, pizza is on point and best lemonade in San Diego. If you’re eating in old town and not eating at Pizza Bella, you messed up.
Came from Utah to eat it!! So good! 10 out of 10 recommend!! We got a variety of food from pizza to spaghetti to a sandwich it was all good!!
Mom and I visited Old Town on a Wednesday afternoon. After striking through town for hours, we read reviews and decided to give Pizza Bella a whirl. The staff was quiet, yet kind. The restaurant was quiet (it was 5 pm. Early for dinner!). We enjoyed the calm, clean atmosphere. When prompted, the waitstaff suggested the regular salad and personal pizza for us to split. He suggested the Sigma-Chi pizza. It was interesting! The menu states 'mixed sauce, sausage, bacon, pepperoni & Primavera vegetables'. Don't be surprised when it arrives with chopped, crunchy carrots & broccoli on it, among other veggies! We loved it. It felt like a really healthy choice. Crust was thin and delicious. Pizza was cooked well. Regular size Mediterranean salad was the exact portion we needed. Dressing was a little 'vinegar strong' for our taste, but still delicious. Veggies and lettuce were fresh and plenty.
As we were leaving, it took a while to have someone come collect our payment so we ended up going up to the counter to pay the bill. Maybe that's what they prefer here? We weren't sure. But we saw a lot of carry out customers coming in so they must have gotten busy. Good for them! Overall, excellent food, atmosphere and friendly staff.
Every time we go to San Diego, it's the only place we dine. We love the food here. The service and the family atmosphere are well worth the 1.5 hour drive.
The best pizza. Awesome customer service. Located in old town. the deep dish and regular crust pizza are amazing. Quality, fresh ingredients, The crust is soft and fluffy. The garlic cheese bread served with warm marinara is delicious as well. Prompt, efficient service. Must try pizza spot., trust me you will not be disappointed.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. 1st the minestrone soup is a must have. Fresh vegetables & the broth has nice roasted garlic flavor, among others.
Also had the eggplant parmesan on a bed of spinach. Very tasty. The meatball isn't loaded with fillers that tend to bloat me.
I shouldn't have eaten all the garlic bread, I was just going to take a bite.
Even the ice tea was fresh & unsweetened.
There was even a upset Karen there for a good show. It was handled professionally.
There is no reason you shouldn't try it's a stone throw from Old Town central Station in San Diego. Thanks for the hospitality to a old traveler, ED
We tried the chi sigma pizza and it was excellent :) Great wine as well. It’s a good place for a date night ♥️
I come to San Diego for work every two months and I never miss my chance to come here. The best pasta Ive ever eaten. The lasagna, raviolis, penne pasta, and spaghetti are all delicious. The pizzas are also amazing. Service is
great.
I’ve been here as a child when we visited San Diego and now I’ve finally been able to come back and the flavor and atmosphere is exactly as I remembered it. Pizza Bella has the best pizza I’ve had and their garlic cheese bread is amazing. The caprese was nice and fresh. My wife ordered the seafood pizza and said it was fantastic as well. I can’t wait until I’m hungry enough to have leftovers.
The pizzas are Ginormous, Sooo HUGE! If you think you need 4 Large for 10 people, you only need 1 XL..lol… they are seriously theee best pizzas I’ve ever had and the pasta is absolutely amazing, skip the side salads! OMG this place is sooo delicious, I’ve been here 3 times in the last 2 years and I live in Ohio (my son is in the Navy in San Diego) and this is truly a hidden gem! 🧡 I love the seafood pesto pizza, I highly recommend if you love pesto and seafood 😋
We love this place, just had a large group for my wedding rehearsal outside on the patio. 35 of us enjoyed pizza, pasta, wine and great service from the staff. Thanks Pizza Bella. We also come in here sometimes with the pups, super dog friendly.
Had pizza and antipasto salad. Pizza was good, but the antipasto salad was delicious! Prices are very high. $52 dollars
Excellent, casual, Italian American eatery. I will be back again hopefully sometime soon!
Good pizza, especially for large crowds, they have a super sized pizza. Took a group of ten here and sat on their patio, really nice. 4 pizzas and we had to take almost 2 home! Server worked so hard, keeping unwanted local guests off the patio and away from the restrooms. You can’t find real pizza like this everywhere, so get it while you can.
