I am Vegan and Gluten Free and have never had so many choices on a menu. We ordered way more food than we should have but we wanted to try out some dishes. The portions are very generous and the food is so amazing!! It's 1 1/2 hours from my house but well worth the trip. The prices are great for as much food as you get. The staff was very friendly as well. I will come back here a lot.

Great food and always great service. This is one of the few places I enjoy which is not 100% Vegan. They take great care in marking the menu vegan and vegetarian. Again the food or service has never let me down.

My favorite vegan spot in the area! I honestly don’t think there’s a dish on the menu that I don’t like! I adore the pumpkin curry!

Grest place! Found them when I was searching for a vegetarian restaurant to go to and this one did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the restaurant itself was very very nice. I was really happy with my meal and experience overall.

You don't have to be Vegan or a Vegetarian to appreciate the flavors served to you, with an artistic flare. We've eaten here a few times over the last year or so and the food is amazing. Today the service was so thoughtful. The servers shared the room and more than one came by our table to make sure we had what we needed. The food is fresh, colorful and the flavors are many different kinds of yum. Truly something for everyone.

I'm not sure there are sufficient words to describe the level of incredible perfection of this place. The food.... just... just... wow. I've never had vegan meat so tender and juicy. The flavors and spice are glorious. The staff... wonderful. The atmosphere... understated elegance. If I had to complain about anything it would only be that parking is impossible in the evenings, and the restaurant has very limited seating. This place is worth moving to San Diego all on its own. What is beyond recommendation? Demanding? I DEMAND YOU GO EAT HERE! You will not be disappointed.

I've eaten quite a bit of vegan food, not only in my own kitchen, but in other establishments all over this country and Plumeria has now been named my #1 (for now that is. (; )

When my wife and I can't decide on a place to eat, this is where we come. The reason? We both LOVE the food! We're neither one of us vegetarians by any stretch of imagination, but have immensely enjoyed everything we've eaten. Even our picky eater kid with special needs enjoys the rice and noodle dishes, usually with the "chicken". My wife enjoys her food at a heat index of 4, whereas I prefer a 7 (I'm chowing down on my leftovers between sentences here.). The staff are friendly and knowledgable about the menu and Patty, the owner, is a sweet lady who seems more then happy to take the time to stop and get to know her customers. Plumeria has a life long fan in me!

This is the first vegan restaurant I've liked enough to be able to eat with my friends. I have not had good experiences with vegan restaurants previously, so I was so surprised at how much I loved the food here!

I've live about 45 minutes and will drive down to University Heights just to eat here. Best Thai food.. Every time I come the restaurant grows, that tells me that business is good and in the delectable Thai food is demand. The ambiance is great, I love it here.

We went to The Plumeria Vegetarian Restaurant during lunch (12/2023) and the food was just authentic. We've never tasted Thai food at its best, other than in Thailand. We ordered the sampler and my gosh it was delicious. The Rama dish with Tofu was wonderful on the palate. The restaurant is quaint and small/medium sized. I didn't see any place where they can fit a group of 10 to 12 (but you might call to check). Other than that it's a nice ambiance for 2 - 4 to have a great place to eat. Recommend.

This cute street in University heights has an interesting mix of Asian-leaning foods. We chose this place to eat more plant-based for lunch. The decor and layout give a shady cool jungle-y feel and the many open windows make the indoor seating breezy. The spicy 🌶️ profiles are true (medium is medium and not mild). We enjoyed the eggplant spicy Thai basil dish the most.

I would rate 6/5 stars if possible, this place is incredible! The food is incredibly flavorful, everyone was so kind, and the atmosphere is beautiful. I will definitely be coming back! I’d recommend the fresh spring rolls, Ka Pow noodles with crispy duck, and the spicy noodles.

A FOODIE’S VEGETARIAN DELIGHT🤩🙃😎.It’s authentic Thai flavors with vegetarian/vegan take, although the menu has certain options for chicken or duck, both of which are Thai staples. The restaurant itself is very pleasant. The service is excellent.👍👍 Feast with your eyes for a minute, the with your palate. A discovery is the Flower Cups 🤩, lovely presentation and very delicious, complex textured savory bites. 👏👏. Then the Spicy Basil with Tempura Vegan Duck: absolutely heavenly at heat level 5🙃🙃🙃 Of course there’s the usual Fresh Spring Rolls starter that comes with 2 dipping sauces: the peanut sauce a delicateness to it and the pineapple sauce has a gentle tang. The menu is short, a very sign of mastery by the chef. And I was not disappointed.

The Thai basil vegetable dish is the best dish I have ever had. Every time I am in Encinitas I have to stop by.

I was in San Diego for work and was brought to Plumeria by a friend who is vegan. I was really surprised by how fresh and tasty all the dishes were. The staff quickly seated us and or so diligent in checking at just the right amount of time with us on what we wanted next and got us the check as soon as possible. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was extremely fresh and the portions were much bigger than I expected. We had to take several containers home.

Y’all Plumeria really has the best fried tofu I’ve ever had. No joke. We came for lunch and split this fried tofu and pad Thai dish. (Ok we also split the chicken satay and spring rolls, we were hungry.) It was SO MUCH food, we took home a ton and heated it up the next day for lunch (it was still delicious then too.) I loved that the entire restaurant is either vegan or vegetarian. It made ordering a breeze! We’ll definitely be back for more.

Had the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever tried! Vegetarian duck is like no other! Atmosphere is great and staff are super friendly and attentive. Had the fried rice with duck and plum wine which paired very well with the rest of our food. Also had taro shake with coconut milk which wrapped up an overall amazing experience

Located in University heights. This cute little vegetarian Thai restaurant has a local hipster vibe about it but not in a pretentious way. I'm glad we found this place as I was initially having some struggles finding places in San Diego that had good vegetarian options (more than just salad) to eat at. This was our first eatery stop during our visit to San Diego and it didn't disappoint. Prices were reasonable and I like the fact that meals could be rated on a spicy scale. Note to others: a 5 was still pretty spicy and I am a fan of spice . We shared a appetizer sampler and then I got the pad thai and my partner ordered some sort of rice and "meat" dish. Both were really good. Drinks were also really delightful, as was the staff.

This place is really great. I highly recommend eating here to friends & family. I had the Tom Yum soup and Yellow Curry with vegan chicken. The flavors are exactly as described, the veggies are perfectly prepared, not soggy or overcooked. I enjoyed the way they cut their veggies. It’s very creative and definitely has an effect on the taste and texture. A couple of reasons I wouldn’t give them 5 stars are 1) the water tastes like tapwater, they need a new filter if they’re serving filtered water, forgot to ask. 2) they provide an accessible restroom, however, there is not a clear path to get to the restroom. A 4 star rating is high for me since I am familiar with eating at Michelin restaurants and I rarely give 5 stars. I will definitely go here again.

Plumeria is one of the best vegan/vegetarian restaurants in San Diego. I love the University Heights location. The staff and the environment is super chill and laid back, and it’s literally next door to some cool bars like Lancers, Park & Rec, and Madison. I really love the spicy basil and the cashew nut here. Both dishes are exceptional. Another notable dish is the pumpkin curry. Sounds a bit odd but it’s great. Their crispy rolls are really good as well. I love how they serve their rice in a heart shape. It’s priced right as well! Can’t really go wrong with Plumeria, no matter your food preferences. Definitely a necessary San Diego eatery to try.

Good place for vegan and vegetarians. They have a great variety of options. The food was really good. We tried the thai cashew, yellow curry and thai samosas. The drinks were alright, I wouldn’t recommend them. Overall the food and the options make the trip worth it. You can also spice it up by letting your server know. We tried a 7/10 and it had a decent spice to it.

This lovely Thai restaurant has a large variety of beautiful and delicious vegetarian / vegan versions of all the favorite Thai dishes, plus some others we had never heard of. I ate here about 6 years ago and have always had a delicious meal ever since. It's in a slightly less crowded neighborhood so parking is not usually too much of a problem. Highly recommend, even non-vegetarian / vegan friends who have eaten here love it.

I love this place. It's always on my 'must visit' list when I'm back home in SD. The mock chicken and duck are my favorite proteins. Had a taro tea this time that was yummy & we split a pineapple fried rice & a tangerine dish with the crispy chicken. Great. Consistent. Healthy food. I am not even a vegetarian fyi. Even getting it take out has been a good experience. Parking does suck though, so depending on time of day, be prepared to walk a few blocks.

Been here lot of times. If you are looking for vegetarian Thai place with good ambiance-this is it. Food taste is not always consistent and drinks are but sugary and not that great. Except that- decent place and try during Night time for better experience
