Every trip back to San Diego From Chicago for 20 years this restaurant is on our must go to list !!! Beautiful ambience and amazing food and margaritas!! We just love it . The wait staff is always so helpful and friendly ! ❤️❤️ Highly recommend the experience !!
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Everyone was accommodating and the food was excellent! I would definitely recommend a visit.
Here from the east coast. What authentic Mexican food. Wow! The mole sauce is legit! Margaritas are on point. You must eat here.
Very glad we stopped here. Loved the shops, the entertainment, and the food available throughout. So glad we stopped here while in Old Town. We highly recommend, and thank you to all of the staff that made our experience a great one.
Great place, great service, great food. Definitely a place to visit if you're in San Diego
Love this place. Every time we visit San Diego we go eat there. Food is great, atmosphere awesome and the staff is very friendly.
Super fun vibe with authentic entertainment, decent food, and great service. Use the online check in on your way there so you don’t have to wait so long for a table.
Very interesting place. Pretty much everything under the sun with food.
We enjoyed strolling through the many shops at Casa de Reyes and ended up enjoying lunch. The restaurant was central to all of the shops, making it feel as if you were actually in a Cantina courtyard in Mexico. The food was very good with plenty of chips and salsa. Even though it was very busy, our drinks and chips came straight away, followed quickly with our meal. This place is a must-see if you're in "Old Town "
It is a good restaurant, now they have the theme of the day of the dead and the decoration is spectacular, highly recommended to spend an entire afternoon because they have live music and the atmosphere is very festive.
The food, I didn't think it was anything extraordinary, it is the food you will find in all Mexican restaurants. I recommend the traditional chicken soup, it was very delicious.
The service is very good, although I had to wait a long time to be attended to, the service was great.
Love the atmosphere here, there are shops, small food vendors, and usually some live music. The food here changes seasonally and they even had some Christmas specials for us. The service is very fast but they don’t take reservations so sometimes there can be a wait but it’s always worth it! Love the fajitas, quesadillas, and mole here
Fantastic food, friendly staff, fast service. Reasonably price for the food. Very good. Staff also knew what was vegan and what was not. I got the vegetable fajitas which was enough for two people! Home made chips and salsa and guac topped it off.
This place is busy, the service is fast, food comes out fast but not as hot as one would like. The serving are good size. Live music and shops to visit after your meal. Walk old town as it’s right out side of the restaurant
Let's start with the drinks. I had a margarita, and they were very popular amongst my table members. They were very good, but they were a little bit too light for my liking, not enough alcohol. The serving size was a problem for me, because I had the fajitas, and there just wasn't enough, I'll be honest. For the other people at my table, they had enough food on their dish, so I just believe I got unlucky 😂. The food itself was good, and I will give it four stars. The service was good, not quick and speedy, but good overall. The atmosphere was great, everybody was happy and the servers were nice. I had a great time altogether, thank you casa de Reyes for a fun time! 4 out of 5 stars.
We dined here on a busy Saturday evening. Band was playing and people were dancing. We were told that wait time to get seated outside was over one hour. Or we could be seated inside the restaurant at once. We chose to eat inside where it was much quieter. Our food order was taken by a friendly staff who periodically checked on us making sure that we are having great dining experience. We ordered rice, beans and chicken enchiladas and also chicken in mole sauce. Food was served in generous portions and tasted great. Gluten-free options were also available.
Overall amazing food and pretty authentic! Our server was not very personable but I also understand we went on a busy night. Amazing and unique atmosphere.
I adore this place!! I had an incredible breakfast here a few months ago and recently I had an amazing dinner with fantastic Christmas decor and wonderful live music ❤️ I can't wait to return!
We had a stopover in San Diego for a few hours, walking around old town we found this place. Very charming. The food was good. Service was good price was reasonable.
Very nice decoration. After entering here you feel like you are in Mexico. Food was good. We tried taco, enchilada and quesadillas. Their refried beans and rice are not vegetarian so they substituted with black beans and corn for us.
File this place away under expensive, but WORTH IT!
The food is authentic and awesome! Chips and salsa served at the table is delicious. The food comes out hot and well seasoned. Nothing boring for the taste buds at this restaurant. The atmosphere is supreme, outdoors, beach-feeling, open-air. The breeze off the bay makes all the food even more delicious.
I am not much of a drinker, AND I am NOT a fan of tequila at all, but the tropical margarita is Excellent!!! Again, expensive ($18 for the large, which is only a 12oz glass) but they make it with 1800, and I was tipsy halfway through.
Don't buy a long-island iced tea, it was really bad, and nearly the same price as the margarita.
Honestly, my meal was the same price as the one drink - however, again, it's worth the price.
Get the fajitas! They will not dissapoint.
Very fun atmosphere and experience. The food was very good. It took about 10 min for the server to come take our order. Once we ordered, our food was ready very fast. Later we tried getting our server's attention to bring the bill (probably 8-10 times), but it took about 10 minutes for him to actually come over to the table. Other than that, we had a great time.
I haven't been here in ten years. but it's still delicious. Nice to know if things did not change. The Food was delicious, the drinks were delicious, and the homemade flour tortillas were delicious. Prices are still good and the quality of food is excellent.
The food was awesome, highly recommend the Stake and Shrimp burrito!! There’s a shrimp in every single bite.
The servers where super friendly and good.
I've eaten here a number of times and the food is always good. The food is served quickly and is hot and fresh with generous portions. The price is reasonable and the atmoshere is great. I had the Soft Taco Plate with Carne Asada, and it was plenty for me. If you're still hungry, consider having the Fried Ice Cream. This place is a must visit when in Old Town San Diego. I give this place two thumbs up.
