Superb. There is really no other way to say just how good Et Voila! is doing things in North Park. The service and staff are attentive and friendly. The food is, well, simply divine.
We started with the mussels, which might possibly be the best bowl of mussels I've ever eaten both here in San Diego and around the world, for that matter. The Salad Lyonnaise was next. No complaints at all; literally wanted to lick the bowl. We split the duck confit and steak frites. Both were solid. My only minor piece of there may have been too much rosemary used to season the steak, but the peppercorn sauce was divine as were the frites.
As we were wrapping up our meals, the manager/owner came by to suggest we finish up out evening with the soufflé. Both of us were stuffed, but we obliged and my, my, my. So glad we did. The soufflé is just ridiculously tasty.
Couple all of this with a great atmosphere, solid wine and cocktail list, and I can say with certainty that Et Voila has an incredible future. Don't wait to try this place because in a month it's going to be slim pickings for reservations.
Tonight was our first visit to Et Violà but it certainly won't be the last. My daughter has been living in France for the past six months and has been craving good French food. We started with the mussels which were absolutely spectacular. They may have been the best mussels I have had and came with a wonderful butter sauce and were so fresh and wonderful. We ordered the salad with the pear and carmelized walnuts and it was perfection; it was so nice also that they split our salad for the two of us instead of bringing one salad the way some places do. The baguette they brought us was so fresh and perfect. We also had the mushroom ravioli which were so light with a wonderful foam sauce. We had the salmon entree which came with a wonderful quinoa side which was so delicious and unique, and the duck confit which was wonderful. The duck was so tender and the skin very crisp, perfectly done. We finished with the apple carmel souffle which was light and delicious. The service was wonderful and very welcoming. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends! Good French food is hard to come by in San Diego so we are so grateful this new restaurant is here!!

From my cocktail to dessert the meal was flawless. It's been a while since I enjoyed a meal this much. Everything I ate was fresh, innovative and delicious and served by a staff that was attentive but not hovering. The only possible complaint I have is the parking was difficult. I suggested they needed valet parking and was told they are working on it.
The mushroom ravioli. Just everything about that dish. 5 stars.
Amazing food, service and restaurant design. I've been for brunch and dinner and was wow-ed each time. Excellent addition to the North Park restaurant scene. A must try!
The best French food since we returned from Paris! Everything is always wonderful and very fresh. Don't leave without trying the sorbet made in-house. Ludo always makes us feel truly special.
Love this little local place. Excellent food and service and a really welcoming vibe. (Just don't tell the tourists ;-) )
My husband and I have a tradition of eating French cuisine on Christmas Eve. This year, we picked Et Voila French Bistro and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food, the ambiance, the service were all phenomenal. We were joined by a friend from Hawaii and another couple and they equally enjoyed themselves. From the lovely bread to the last scrapings of our desert plates we loved this place. Can't wait to return with a few friends.
I have been in the food and beverage business 30+ years. I can not stop thinking about the food. I can't wait to return!
Have been the a couple times for lunch, but tried it for dinner tonight. IT. WAS. FABULOUS. Food was wonderful, wine was wonderful, service was impeccable, and dessert - wow! So glad it's within walking distance.
Food here is prepared with care, and tastes great. Baguettes are the real yeast raised deal, and things only get better. All the French classics are delicious, fragrant with herbs.
The staff works very hard. All tables often seem to fill at the same time.
They will go the extra mile to prepare for any special request if you call ahead.
The only negative is that they close early, 9pm, so we cannot keep ordering more and keep eating and visiting later. This is typical for San Diego though.
Nothing but amazing things to say about this place. I am the daughter of a prestigious chef and when I came here it exceeded and ticked every box I expected. From the way we were greeted to the leaving it was a 10/10 experience. The food was unbelievable, the service was so sincere and warm. ROBERT who is a great asset made sure every single one of our needs were tended too. It was our anniversary and I lost count of how many employees congratulated us. Just honestly one of the best restaurants I have visited here in San Diego. Thank you to the chef and the team for such an unforgettable experience. Will be returning.
First of all, parking is extremely hard to find. I don't understand how people find parking. Maybe it's because we came at Friday night and it's rush hour.
Food is great! I really enjoyed the mussels, it's fresh and flavorful. I also like the duck terrine. Basically all the appetizers are great. Compared to appetizers, rabbit leg, the only main course we ordered, is just OK. Next time, we will try tapa style and I ordering more appetizers and no main course.
Service is also good.
It's a good night overall.
I absolutely love this place. Delicious French cuisine at a reasonable price and appropriate portions. The cocktails are also great. Upscale atmosphere but you can dress up or down as much as you would like. Make a reservation because it's a pretty small place and they are quite busy.
We started with warm and toasty baguette with butter 🥖🧈 I had roasted wild ocean trout (Truite de mer norvegienne, butter noisette au potiron). The trout was fresh and flavorful. I also tried the pork chop dish. It has to be the best pork chop dish. Everything we ordered was delicious. I can’t wait to go back for some crème brûlée next time.
This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Southern California. The food is incredible! I try to get a different dish each time. & My favorite dishes are the duck, the rabbit, and the beef bourguignon! DELICIOUS! Also, I ALWAYS get the escargots because I just can’t get enough of them (absolutely my favorite appetizer ever)! The Owner is lovely and so French. I feel like I’m in France all over again. The overall ambience is perfect, and it reminds me of my favorite restaurant in Virginia! The staff is always great and always friendly! Missy, the bartender, is such a ray of sunshine. She’s stellar and always knows exactly what drink or food to recommend! I love coming here for the whole experience because it’s amazing! I’ve been here a billion times and will be returning a billion more times.
This has become one of our favorite "special occasion" places. We've celebrated two anniversaries here and find Eh Voila! a congenial , comfortable place to dine. The food is excellent and the wine list well-selected, offering fine wines at affordable prices.
One thing that is especially delightful is that the restaurant was recently upgraded with acoustic treatments that make it pleasurable to converse with dinner companions. I could hear myself think.
We had a leisurely meal and were never rushed. Service was solicitous without being intrusive.
To start we had a cheeseboard with three French cheeses, slices of Brillat-Savarin, Bucheron and Bleu de Bresse, along with house-made slices of fruit and nut bread, plus seasonal fresh fruit and honey.
The tasty baguettes are flown in frozen from Quebec and are extremely light and tasty, served with delicious butter.
We continued with a light and perfectly assembled salad which I loved while my husband had his favorite French onion soup.
For our main courses I had a scallops dish, while my husband had a risotto.
We had planned to have the Grand Marnier souffle for dessert but were already too full.
I highly recommend this restaurant which we plan to visit more frequently.
Made reservations at this restaurant for our 12th anniversary, and it did not disappoint. Everything we had here was excellent from the pork chop, beef bourguignon, and salad, to the souffle for dessert. Service was great. We came out full and happy. We plan on coming back.
One of my favorite places in San Diego! Best French food in town, all employees are friendly and food is always top notch. We go at least 2-3 times a month if not more. Cocktails are delicious and amazing wine list. Highly recommend, perfect for a date night or any occasion. I would give 10 stars 🌟 across the board. Go check them out you won’t be disappointed!
On Tuesday, October 10th, we had the pleasure of dining at ET VOILA restaurant. Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to discover their "Tuesday night date" menu – a special offering that consists of three courses. Additionally, for two diners, it includes a bottle of wine.
From the very beginning, our experience was delightful. The hostess greeted us with infectious enthusiasm and warmth. She was courteous and gracefully escorted us to our table in a setting we genuinely adore. For our appetizers, we chose the "croustillant chaud de reblochon" and "Ravioli aux champions". Both were exquisitely presented and tantalizing to the palate.
For our main course, we both opted for the "boeuf bourguignon". It was, without doubt, a flavorful journey that spoke volumes of the culinary expertise at ET VOILA. To wrap up our dining experience, we indulged in the classic "crème brûlée du jour" and "mousse au chocolat". Each dessert was a masterful blend of textures and flavors that left us craving more.
Our choice of drink for the evening was the French Pinot Noir listed on the menu. It complemented our meals perfectly, enhancing the overall gastronomic experience.
However, a note for future patrons: the restaurant does not accept digital wallets or Apple Pay. Still, they do accommodate all types of physical credit cards, ensuring a hassle-free payment process.
In summary, our visit to ET VOILA was nothing short of fantastic, from the ambiance
Everything was amazing. The food was soo good. I ordered the duck and I loved it. When we arrived there I couldn’t really hear the music but the customers talking. But then, they set the volume up and it was great. I’d go back for sure if I want French food.
I had only been here for breakfast/brunch before. Finally, made it for dinner. Disappointed I waited so long and won’t make that mistake again before going back. Everything was delicious. The service was amazing. The place looks gorgeous and updated now that they have remodeled. The wine bottle list is lengthy and would make a French wine lover very, very happy. We went for happy hour and enjoyed some drinks and apps but stayed for dinner.
The only bummer is the menu on their website does not match the menu in the restaurant which is more extensive.
Really enjoyed my meal and drinks ( had the venison, trout, old fashioned and smoked bourbon bijou, mezcal drinks, souffle). Pricey but well worth it. Bread/butter is also phenomenal. Will come back anytime for a special occasion.
Yup, definitely come here and try the mussels! They were excellent. I also really enjoyed the mushroom ravioli. You can't go wrong with the cheese board either. I'll be back!
Yesterday I went to Et Voilà and had the onion soup, the flank steak and the Créme brûlée.
This was by far the best onion soup in US I have ever had.
The steak was cooked perfect to order and the taste was amazing.
I recently went to Et Voilà for a birthday dinner. I made a reservation a few days prior, but you could probably get away with a walk-in on a weekday evening. My party was warmly greeted by the hostess as soon as we arrived. All staff we interacted with were friendly and definitely contributed to our positive experience at Et Voilà.
Along with a few drinks, we had the croustillant chaud de reblochon appetizer, truite de mer norvégienne & jarret d'agneau main courses, and soufflé dessert. All dishes were prepared well and tasted great. I'm looking forward to visiting again to try the rest of the menu!
Best of the best, yet again! My husband and I have been here 4 times, months apart (sadly for us) and every time we are here, the experience is even better! Awesome food, so beautifully crafted and delicious, and the service is perfect. Every. Single. Time. Kudos to all who made our rare date night perfect! (Oh yes, the Date Night offering is crazy good at an awesome price! And the service is stellar; so friendly!) Give yourself and your loved one(s) a perfect gift of dinner at Et Voila!
Et Voila meets most every expectation you can have for French Food. "A little more haute cuisine than country French", to quote Jan who is at our table. And away we go!
Jan continues and says: "The Garden Salad and the way they combine butter lettuce, my favorite with endive for crunch, and pomegranate seeds for more crunch and flavor, it is just perfect"! Erika says: "I agree with Jan and I really enjoy that we ordered a light white Burgundy pairing it with a salad that has gorgonzola cheese".
Mushroom Ravioli. Mushroom Ravioli. No one is speaking. Everyone is thoroughly enjoying!
Both Erica and Shirley are looking forward to the Trout and it does not disappoint! Erica says: "it is really crisp and the Fregola Pasta that looks like couscous that comes with it, is very good". Shirley likes the sauce. She says: "It's tomato based".
I think we all love the presentation of the Shrimp with linguini. Dari says it first: "Amazingly flavorful and beautiful presentation". Jan says "delicious". Bob says: "Tasty". And Shirley says:"The linguine with the basil pesto was it for me". Erika agrees. She adds: "I am really impressed with how the shrimp is presented. I am almost excited and I don't even eat shrimp"! We all laugh. Jan adds: "It's a beautiful dish". Bob agrees.
Erika says: the Seasonal Vegetables are surprisingly delicious. I didn't know they could taste that good". "Surely one of the better dishes" Jan chimes in. "Perfectly cooked". Bob adds: "what a nice variety of vegetables all done properly".
Jan says: "I really appreciate the service they are giving us, replacing our plates and silverware after each 'tasting', and the fact that we send back a Pork Chop to be cut up, since it was hard for us to do and it comes back so beautifully presented". Seriously, this is customer service at its' finest.
The pork is fatty but Bob mentions: "That's what gives it this great flavor".
Duck Magret and the Duck Croustillant, a duck breast and duck confit are good. The appetizer confit is beautiful and is tastefully wrapped and presented. Erika says: "I thought I loved duck but I was wrong. I love THIS duck more"! We all crack up!
For dessert it is Beignets and a Cheese Plate. After dinner Shirley and I sneak off to the bar for what I really came for: Profiteroles. And let me tell you, they are every bit as good as any I have made, French chefs have made for me or that I have had before. Magnifique! Merci Et Viola!
Our favorite restaurant in San Diego. The French food is incredibly well made and presented.
We love the four cheese platter, the runnier the better tasting! Snails are buttery, simply amazing!
My favorite entree is the tomahawk porc - I’ve never experienced pork chops like this before so full of flavor, incredibly tender and juicy. Delicious.
Every entree we have tried (most of them offered) has been incredibly well prepared.
The desserts are quite good too.
Everything presented beautifully with a top notch wait staff.
We really love this place.
