The food is excellent, I had the best brisket bbq and my husband had the grill salmon.The atmosphere is friendly. the order taker was by himself but very calm and accommodating. I will recommend the place and will come back again.

Yesterday, I went to Wood Ranch to celebrate my friend's birthday. Our server Kevin was just the absolute best! We've had him before and he always makes our experience amazing (not in your face about anything but always being aware if we were low on drinks or bread, etc). The food was GODLY as always!! I never had a bad experience here. I make it a point to come for special occasions because it's absolutely worth it! We'll be seeing again soon!

This place is amazing. The drinks were well mixed. I got the Tennessee Peach, and got two because they were so good. Those garlic rolls they bring out to you before your meal are to die for. Our entrees were the same quality. Highly recommend the smoked turkey. The Carolina sauce they serve with it really hits the spot. Great service and over all great experience. Looking forward to going back.

Spent Easter Sunday here for lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. Our server "Chad" was excellent and super friendly. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered suggestions on meal choices. Thank you Chad...you're awesome!!!!!

Had almost everything on the menu! No joke...the food was amazing. Probably the best BBQ I've had in San Diego. Defiantly will visit over and over again. Did I mention the drinks.....just great!

My first time there I had a great experience my salad and the garlic knots were amazing our server was great and my boyfriend really like his barbeque ribs and sides and the prices were reasonable, we will definitely be back

Visited restaurant for lunch. Very nice modern looking interior and great smell of the smoked meat is definitely something to look for. Good lunch menu with lots of options, reasonably priced. I had BBQ salad with tri tip steak – it was excellent. Nicely cooked steak and good fresh salad, overall very tasty.

Service was very friendly and super-attentive – the new ice tea glass was showing up at the table as soon as the previous one was emptied.

On a side note, the restaurant is located at the very beginning of the shopping center adjacent to Double Tree hotel – you can ask for complementary starter coupon at the hotel’s front desk.

Definitely recommended.

Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill opened a location in Mission Valley a few months ago. The BBQ chain restaurant has several locations throughout California. We were invited to come in for a visit and dined there earlier last month. It was pouring buckets of rain the day we went, so sorry there is no photo of the storefront. The interior is quite spacious, but also very dark, reminding me of a steakhouse.

Wood Ranch BBQ opened up a location in San Diego recently and we were invited to dine there. It's on the far right side of the Hazard Center Plaza so keep going and you'll get find yourself there before you know it! They also have a 'take-out' entrance to the left for a quicker turnaround. Inside, the restaurant is spacious including a bar area and outdoor patio. The restaurant was almost completely full on our visit so word is getting around about this place! Our pleasant server Tim gave us plenty of options on what to order from the menu.

Wood Ranch has spectacular food! I love coming here dinners with the family! They have awesome staff and quick service too! They also are not too expensive but make you feel like you're at an expensive restaurant! Love this place and highly recommend! Thank you Wood Ranch staff!

Optimal service!!!! The staff have to be praised! They made the experience 5 Star! They were continuously checking on us, super positive, interactive, and asking us if we needed anything and proactively maintaining our beverages, napkins, taking empty plates. I own a food establishment and would be so proud if my team were trained to be this mindful of the customer experience! It is everything! Never mind the food was delicious and we felt like we had our own section; like as if we were home and family was hosting us. Thank you; definitely coming back!

We were visiting San Diego for a Saturday car show and decided to arrive Friday evening to chill out and have a nice dinner. The food, service and atmosphere were great. The Ribeye steak, baby back ribs and tri-tip dinners were excellent. Our server Karla was also excellent and very attentive.

1st time trying this place. Husband got the western tri tip sandwhich. It comes with a sauce bowl of meat juice to dip. Got sweet potato fries and Chipotle dipping sauce, HUGE portion. He said it was an 8/10 for him. Meat in the sub is suuper thin (like flat jerky meat thick with rehydrated jerky texture). Fries were soggy but good flavor/seasoning. My son and I shared an 8oz sirloin med rare with mashed potatoes. Really yummy, cooked perfect. The garlic rolls were puffy but had a dense bite, good amount of garlic on those. My favorite thing was the fried cauliflower wings. Its an appetizer but definitely could be a meal on its own. Came with ranch and wing sauce (that tastes exactly like red hotz mild hot sauce) 🔥 The restaurant was pretty empty but very nice atmosphere and decor. Suuuuuuuper cold for lunch time in my opinion. Service was good. Good 1st experience here. The overall vibe of the food was like a boujee chilis meets famous daves. It was pricey-ish comparatively obviously, but worth a try see if its for you. This lunch we got was: 1 Western Tri Tip Sandwhich w/ sweet potato fries 1 8oz sirloin with mashed potatoes 1 order Fried cauliflower wings 1 beer 1 soda 1 water Total was 80$ with 10$ tip

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience! The food was incredibly delicious, complemented by outstanding service. The venue has a neat and cozy vibe with both indoor and outdoor seating. While the menu isn't extensive, the focus on BBQ shines through. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, even when my steak was overcooked. Despite this, they still earn a 5-star rating, and I would gladly return. The loaded mashed potatoes were particularly noteworthy. Overall, a fantastic place, and I truly relished my visit.

We went on a Saturday night around 7:45, when it wasn't too crowded and towards the end of the night. My boyfriend got tri tip and my best friend got pulled pork. Both of their meals were amazing. However, my brisket was oddly overdone and as someone that doesn't eat big portions of meat usually, I was a little bit offset by how dry and chewy it was. However, both of the people I was with tried it and said it was undoubtedly a bad piece of the roast. They told the server, Chad, who was phenomenal and on top of it. Already before the complaint, he was on top of it with refills, checking in, bringing us wet towels. But after, he stayed incredibly sweet and got the manager who immediately fixed our plate. At first the manager seemed annoyed but I believe after she saw it , she was incredibly kind about it. Our service was amazing and shout out to Chad for his patience and attention.

My daughters and I enjoyed our lunch here. It was my daughter’s birthday celebration. I would like to recognize our server, Kevin. He was very friendly and attentive. He knew his job well. Able to interact with people with ease and conversation was great. He was consistently asking us if everything was okay and if we needed anything else to make our lunch extra special. The brisket was super good and the bread was amazing,. Please recognize Kevin for a job well done. We were there on 6/20/2023 around 3:00 pm.

We have dined here often.. We usually sit in the bar area but recently have opted to sit on the patio. We like dining outside. The staff is always friendly and competent. Food is good and well prepared to our liking. Highly recommend! Bar tender makes great gin martinis.

Absolutely loved it! Seriously delicious food with outstanding service. Neat, cozy vibe with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is not too extensive since they really focus on BBQ. The staff was super nice and friendly from minute one. My steak was overcooked and they were so nice about it that they still get 5 stars and I would totally go back. The loaded mashed potatoes are incredible. Great place, really enjoyed my visit.

Staying next door at the doubletree. Stopped in for dinner & was impressed. Great ambience, attentive servers, Beef Ribs are a must have. Everything was fresh & flavorful, Perfect amount of smoke /wood flavor on the meat. Awesome beer selection. I would definitely come back and recommend. Surpassed my expectations..

Our group of 6 have lunch every week at Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill. Every time we dine here, we sit in the same area of their dining room to grab lunch, wine, and their delicious bread rolls. We're almost always served by Ryan, and he always takes awesome care of us, he knows all our names, and remembers what typically we eat & drink (unless we decide to switch it up on him). This review is a cumulative one for the great food we always have, but more so for the exceptional service Ryan gives us each & every time he waits on us. In fact, there have been a few times when, for one reason or another, he happened to be off on a particular day and while his replacement did a fine job, our gang missed him greatly. (Kind of like if your favorite bartender, barber, or personal trainer we on a day off on a day you went in to see them.) We just wanted to commend the Wood Ranch staff (their hostess, kitchen, bar, and servers) for making our weekly lunch experience here such a pleasant experience. We typically order wine, iced tea, or an Arnold Palmer; then grab their lunch special (a pair or two will split the lunch special often) or one of their delicious salads. Thank you Wood Ranch for being our weekly regular lunch spot, and for always treating us with 5-star service every time we visit!

Very clean. Great atmosphere. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very busy. My husband ordered the ultimate. It's huge but very good (I took a bite). The jalapenos were perfect. Everything in our was very tasty but when put all together just hit the spot. I ordered the lunch special of the two sliders with half salad and a side. I didn't care for the Western only because the peppers were super done and I prefer peppers firm. The other slider was great. It had slaw on it which for me, slaw is a hit or miss and it was very good. The mac and cheese was great. I love love love mac and cheese. The salad was also great. Their croutons are bomb. Kevin was our waiter and he was very polite. Very on his toes. He made our first visit very enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

Great BBQ restaurant that is local to Southern California. The restaurant has an up scale cabin feel that fits the bbq motif. The menu has great options for all ages and even labels for those who have gluten sensitivity. The kids' menu has a wide selection of picky eaters in the family. It is also nice that they match how adults order with and side. All of the options we chose were spot on and seasoned perfectly. The pulled port was moist and had a good smoke flavor. It also paired well with the vinegar bbq sauce they recommend. The tri-tip sald was the right size, and the tri-trip was also smoked and cooked to perfection. A true test of a bbq restaurant is how they make their sides. There was no disappointment here as they were all well made. The garlic roles were fluffy, the Mac and Cheese was creamy, the banked beans were bbq heaven, and the coleslaw was seasoned correctly. Last but not least is the desert. If you are there in berry season, the berry krisp is exactly like mom used to make, and the chocolate cake is not overly rich. Both are highly recommended. The only complaint is that there is not one of these restaurants in roseville, northern California.

Our experience was very good for a late lunch. This was made five star by our waitstaff person. She was the most genuinely cheerful person with great skill at suggestions, and also attentive, but not hurrying. Another plus was huge lunch servings as you will see in photos. My husband especially loved this. Also, for me, the lunch special of half salad with their house made balsamic vinaigrette (still enough for two people!) two sliders of your choice topped with their coleslaw and pickles, and one side of your choice was a great lunch deal. First off the house salad was really good with cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced marinated cucumber, grilled corn and carrots on a fresh bed of greens! Simply delicious! I picked the brisket slider and SC pulled pork slider with a side of the skillet baked beans, which the beans were nice and sweet. The sliders came with ramekins of bbq sauce, brisket sauce and pulled pork sauce, which was nice to sample all three! I especially liked the brisket and will return to have that as an entree! I also added a baked potato side and it was a truly perfect baked potato which impressed me! My husband had the veggie burger without the bun, generously topped with avocado, and peanut coleslaw which he really enjoyed. We had the mixed berry cobbler for desert, which was more like a berry crisp made with a delicious crumbly oats topping, and garnished with a scoop of ice cream and a lovely mint sprig! This is a large seating area restaurant with tables and booths of various sizes. They have sports screens at the comfortable bar and covered outdoor seating that has a canyon view of surrounding area, which is still nice for fresh air if you like that! There is also ample parking so that is a big plus. I saw the fresh cut fries carried by and those looked really good! I would honestly say the food is more like 4.5 stars, but all of the ease of dining here with great waitstaff and bus-guys constantly cleaning really made it five stars for us!

Parking is good. The menu has a good variety and the veggie burger with sweet potato fries are great if you’re on a plant-based diet. I had bbq sauce on the side and it was really good. Service was fast and friendly.
