The penette is perfectly al dente, and is beyond delicious. Also had the hazelnut lattee which is probably some of the best coffee I've ever had. I unknowingly came after lunch hour but my service was still great and I was well taken care of.

Best gelato ever. Very friendly staff, plenty of seating, and a great corner location with lots of windows. The menu looked comprehensive also, although we only had gelato.

I had gelato in Europe and many places in the USA. i spoke to the owner and he said that his gelato maker is Italian and makes it in-house. Well the taste shows, its the best gelato i had in the US. The place has lots of healhty products, service is great and prices are reasonable.

The crepe was delicious!!! I had missed berry and vanilla bean ice cream!! It was a great late night dinner. Spaghetti for my little girl and a free scoop of vanilla ice cream the waitress was super kind and very attentive.

Foodgasm. Incredible Espresso they import from Italy. Handmade dark(er) chocolate in the mocha/espresso/foam thing that is NOT a Cafe Mocha, but more sublime. Omg WILD BOAR SAUSAGE in skillet omelette. Lemon and powdered sugar crepe is perfection. Indulge yourself, and order a bunch of things and take home leftovers. Atmosphere is airy, light, artsy, sophisticated but not stuffy. Interior design eye candy. Im from a family of foodies but I dont like pretensions. I like to taste my food - great meat and vegies, breads, etc. Really cute bar and hangout places in it too.

The waitress was so warm and lovely...and I had a great glass of Pinot Grigio...on former occasions I have had dessert....and they were wonderful...nice warm place except they need more chairs with backs....it makes a difference when you are in your 70's!

So many delicious gelato choices it was hard to choose. It was very clean inside and staff was very nice. I loved the fresh flowers on the tables as well as the decor! It was obvious that it is well liked by all ages as evidenced by the clientele.

My first time there and I intend to go back the next time I am in the area. I had the Tiramisu Pancakes with Expresso syrup. This was awesome! The waitress was very attentive and helpful.

Easily my favorite restaurant in all of San Diego! I’ve lived here for 10 years and am just now discovering Chocolat. The customer service is superb. Their lattes and desserts exquisite, and their menu is so versatile. EVERYTHING here is mouth watering and cooked to perfection. 10/10 recommend.

Servings sizes for the crepes were huge! And the Gelato Cocktails as well. We got the Rosemary Chicken & Zucchini crepe, tomato & mozzarella bruchette, the best mojito ever, and the chocolate concoction. The Chocolate Concoction is definitely for chocolate lovers; it's a bit too sweet for me. The best mojito ever was definitely a better choice. I took my crepe home because it was such a big serving. and the service was very fast. A very big menu lots of options to pick from!

I came here on my birthday one year & quite enjoyed the oven baked pizza, salad, & dessert. The flavors & cooking was just divine. It made my day and the friendliness and helpfulness of staff was greatly appreciated. The pizza in particular was just greatly enjoyable, warm and cheesy, but excellent for not being oily. An underrated business I feel.

Super cute cafe. We enjoyed everything we got. The Chocolat Concoction was my favorite thing we got. It was like drinking coco powder and rum, so good! I enjoyed the cafe vibes. The staff was very friendly. Most of the brunch places around us were very busy, but they were able to seat us right away, which was nice. There's a small parking lot kitty corner from it. I would definitely come back here.

Reviewing for the gelato - great portion - 2 flavors for $8 compared to other San Diego prices. Eclectic ambience of gelato and bar that makes me mark this place to return for other types of food here later (crepes, brunch, happy hour, and of course the gelato stamp card of buy 5, get 6th free???)

Stopped by here after a day walking around Hillcrest for a sweet treat and really enjoyed the chocolates they had! They were gorgeous and had good flavor. They were a quite pricey for me, but good for a treat once in a while. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it had a cute atmosphere.

5 stars for the delicious crepes but minus one star for inflated prices and a super loud environment. When staff were barely a foot in front of me I still couldn't hear them over the din of the crowd in there. But the crepes... I mean holy crepe. We weren't even really hungry when we went in but when we took our first bites of crepe it was clear we weren't going to be able to stop ourselves from clearing the plate. Simply delicious and a wonderful balance of sweetness without being overwhelmingly sweet. It's hard to explain. But they were great. I highly suggest them.

A must visit place in Hillcrest. The margharita pizza is really good. Love the Tiramisu and spiced chai latte here. Don't miss out on the ice cream 😋

Came here with a bunch of friends and was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly service. The food was 10/10. I ordered the warm croissant with egg and cheese and it was amazing. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the croissant was fluffy and crispy. Atmosphere was great as well.

Stopped by after spending time at the zoo. Great find. 6 of us celebrating my wife's birthdays, so we shared several appetizers and a pizza. She had the "best monitor ever" and it did not disappoint. Followed these with some fresh Gelato, a crepe and a terrific brownie topped with vanilla bean Gelato. The food and service was great. I would highly recommend.

The pumpkin ravioli at Chocolat is my favorite pasta dish in San Diego, and every time I eat it again I am stunned into (brief) silence (followed by lengthy exposition) by its complexity and flavor symphony. I've ordered it on Doordash many times but I have to say that eating it fresh, while in the restaurant, is truly an otherworldly experience. The garlic bread that accompanies it is also excellent, but that pasta. Wow. I can't recommend it enough.

GO GO GO!!! So YUMMY!!! It's such a great place! The food is amazing, they're known for their crepes which are so delicious! They have an extensive menu for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Can't forget the candy and Gelato cases, they have some of the most beautifully painted ganache I've ever seen, and the Gelato, I had to take some home! The atmosphere is nice and chill, you can wear your yoga pants and be totally comfortable. And last but definitely not least, the owners, they are so friendly and personable, you can't help but want to go back again and again.

Rare 5/5 for what I'd characterize as leaning to French cuisine and bakery. First large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice with pulp, sweetness and thick texture all (so a pleasant surprise not like another restaurant not soon after the complete bitter, tart, flat, watery opposite). Ok maybe the second time in my life for crepes and was asked how I wanted the eggs cooked (I thought scrambled for crepes was the only option) plus a proper amount of gooey chewy slighly sweet (but not Wisconsin fresh chew squeaky) cheese yum. The right size food portion with sufficiently thin wrapper (you will like it Ricky Bobby). Other food was iron skillet omelette with chicken and mushroom- huge portion. We viewed the bakery display but did not partake. So we came for brunch and the place was getting busier as our stay progressed. Later that day drove by dinner time and significantly busier. Now the place is located in youth popular Hillcrest not too far from U of San Diego and other establishments targeting that market and yuppiedom. This place is a bit eclectic for the bulk of them but is clearly serving a niche beyond the traditional pub so an anomaly and complements the area variety well. I would normally see a restaurant as this in/near a fashion mall but the foot traffic here is probably better and broader appeal. The service was polite and professional which for this cuisine and customer base as expected. There was a family including toddler so the restaurant can accommodare a customer age range, not just adults. Would return again.

Some friends and I visited this place, which is right around the corner from Breakfast B*tch who didn't have room for us. This place had us seated in 20 minutes after placing our names on the wait list. We were able to have gelato and pastries before being seated in their spacious lobby. We set outside because inside was super warm on this Saturday afternoon. This place did NOT disappoint! I had the chicken and egg crepe with French toast & berries and the pineapple punch drink was delicious.

I keep forgetting about this place as something other than having gelato!! I came here awhile ago w/ my 2 daughters for b-fast and it was spectacular! Fast fwd to my sis & I going to get my parents gelato to go, but when we walked in Sunday we both got hungry! Then it was that I remembered the delicious food we had gotten last year. I convinced her to stay--she did not know you had food other than gelato. I had the breakfast flatbread & she had the tomato basil soup w/ panini bread. Both were FANTASTIC! The waitress was on top of our questions, our order, & food delivery--which was STEAMING HOT when it arrived!! 😳 We were both VERY impressed w/ the food quality & service. We eat out about once a week & will DEFINITELY be back w/ friends!! P.S. I had the leftovers for 2 more days!!! And as yummy as the day I ordered it. So needless to say, the price was worth it!

We are glad we chose to come here. I came with my family on a Monday night at about 6pm. It was not busy at all. The staff were super friendly. We took a while making decisions and they were patient with us. We don’t drink and they were very polite about it, which was nice. We had the soup of the day (zucchini cream), the rosemary chicken & zucchini crepe, the rosemary chicken panini (which was the same as the crepe but in panini form), and a caesar salad with salmon. They were all amazing. The rosemary chicken was better in crepe form, although the panini came with greens that tasted divine. We also had two gelato samplers for dessert. They came with 3 tangerine-size scoops each. We all agreed our favorite flavor was by far the toffee cream. We also had pitaya, strawberry, stracciatella, oreo & cream, and kinder bueno, which were all good. We will be back!
