Delicious Mexican seafood in a nice atmosphere with friendly staff! They have happy hour every day from 3pm to midnight with beers and some cocktails. Great menu with tacos, burritos, ceviches and more. The El Pulpo molcajete is spectacular! Reasonable prices.

Awesome Mexican food! Favorite was the Pulpo Chicharron. Octopus was really tender and pork skin gave a nice crunch. Super large entrée; we were two to eat but this could hae been shared between 4 people. Marlin taco came extremely hot - spices were excellent. Tostada de Camaron Curtido was really huge, pretty tasty but not a favorite. Recommended

Great food! This place is a bit small but the food is amazing. Staff were amazingly helpful and tended too our needs when needed. I must say the next time I'm in the Gas Lamp District I will definitely revisit this location to have some seafood. A must try if you enjoy seafood.

The seafoid here is delicious. So fresh, crisp and clean tasting. Sparkly. Staff was happy and friendly, joking lime friends. They ate dog friendly. A huge plus. We highly recommend.

I walked by this spot a bunch of times without going in , I’m alway a little hesitant to do sea food but I am so happy I gave it a shot !! I ordered two octopus and chicharron tacos and they were amazing, perfectly cooked , very tender and not fishy, the chicharron was a perfect addition to the octopus and the added mouth feel was delightful and OMG the beans !!! Wow!! I’m a bean man and these are some of the bess refried beans I’ve ever had. All the staff was amazing including the chef and cooks. My family and I have added this gem to our weekly menu. Thank you Mariscos El Pulpo !!

Fast service, lively atmosphere, and the best pulpo ever. We ordered the pulpo ceviche and chicken fajitas and pretty much fell in love. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m in San Diego!

The restaurant has a good taste in seafood. I had a shrimp and fish tacos were amazing. Also, i had A Mexican dish which made of Shrimps and it was super good. However, the meat tacos were bad! The parking in this Area is very difficult because the restaurant is located in downtown San Diego. Highly recommend shrimp tacos!

The seaside/boat decor is absolutely charming! The octopus tacos were so tender and delicious!! Certain items on the menu didn't have a price associated with them, which was weird. the guacamole we ordered was a huuuuuuge size, but it would have been nice to know it was $8 before we ordered.

We stumbled into this place while searching for a sushi place for lunch. It didn't take but a few minutes to wonder why we were ever searching for sushi in the first place. The place is billed as the only traditional Mexican seafood place in all of downtown San Diego and the closest thing to being in Baja, Mexico. The El Pulpo in the name means octopus in Spanish, and had we known earlier we'd have tried that. We decided to instead get their fish ceviche for an appetizer and was blown away by the freshness and the portion size. We followed that up with a taco each since it read Taci Tuesday and heard to pass up the prices ($2.50 for a fish taco and $3.50 for a steak taco). The chips they brought were finished by a very well flavored spicy salsa, and very delicious as well. All in all, this ended up being a great choice for a lunch and definitely a place I would return to if I lived locally! I heartily recommend trying it out!
