This was such a great experience for dinner. First the staff was absolutely phenomenal and very kind. The food was also extremely good, you could tell it was homemade and made with care. The ravioli’s were the best that I have had since I was in northern Italy. From the salad to the pasta dishes to the cannoli and pistachio cake for dessert, they were all so full of flavor and so well prepared. I will absolutely be back whenever I’m in town. It is now my new favorite place to eat in San Diego.
Food here was really good!
We order the focaccia bread, some cocktails with passion fruit and orange juice in it, and some pasta!
Our table ordered:
— GAMBERI E VONGOLE, which has (Garlic, shallots, parsley, prosecco, shrimp, clams) I ordered a side of spicy sausage with mines and it hit just right!
— OSSO BUCO
Very filling, excellent quality ingredients, and great attention to detail.
The food is exceptional. Our large group from Seattle was in town for a bachelorette, and we ordered many plates to try. The bruschetta was a highlight with bold and bright flavors (although not photographed bc it went so quickly). The carni miste plate was generous, and every protein and vegetable was cooked to perfection! Spread the word... RoVino is a must visit when in San Diego!!
Absolutely fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic experience.
Risotto, bruschetta, cheesecake, pasta were all above our expectations, and by the way the chicken and steak smelled going by, we weren't the only ones leaving happy.
I thought the cocktails were the weakest part, but I can't complain- they were very excellent, just not as good as the rest of it was for my taste.
Service was amazing, never ran out of water and everyone did a great job. We told the manager as much when he dropped by.
EXCELLENT food at RoVino Italian Restaurant in Little Italy San Diego! Although it took a very long time for our appetizers and main course dishes to be served, it was worth the wait🙏
Large servings and perfectly prepared food was enjoyed by all our family. Our server was outstanding, attentive, and kept our glasses full and vino coming despite our long wait for our meal to be served. He alone was the reason for an excellent review~well the delish food and yummy deserts helped too! Keep smiling and know we'll see you again soon😇
I was here for a business dinner the middle of last month. I ended up with the Lasagna dish, it was very good, the portion was huge and I ended up sharing with someone at my table. I wish they had bread for the table, but other than that, the food and atmosphere were excellent. The bathroom situation is interesting though. It’s down the street and to the left of bushes and shrubs. There is a door combination, I think it’s 6055.
Initially this review had potential to go south quickly. We brought a dog upon seeing they are pet friendly. They seated us right along the sidewalk with high traffic from random passerbyers (including disruptive dogs) and every server trying to access their areas. We also waited an inordinate amount of time for our food.
BUT our server saved the day! Upon request he was able to switch our table to a more private table which spared everybody the frequent dog exchanges. Also, he apologized for the food delay before we ever mentioned anything, and he treated us to dessert on the house to make up for it!
Been here two times with family, great Italian place! The owner is always attentive to make sure his guests are having a great time. Food portions are huge specially protein which you don’t see much of in San Diego. I love the sidewalk seating and colorful drinks!

We had a wonderful experience dining at RoVino and are so glad we stopped by. We were greeted with friendly and welcoming faces from first gracing the door. We came in looking to celebrate a milestone birthday and the staff made us feel right at home. The rich and robust flavors are most memorable and we will certainly be back. The cauliflower was out of this world and so were the brussel sprouts... both are must haves! Some of the best Italian food in SD for sure! Highly recommend!!!
Amazing food and very cool location, we had Bruschetta, Calamari, the Burrata ravioli diver scallops special and calamari to start, all of them were good, scallops and calamari were tops and three amazing dinner plates pictures below, nice work Rovino staff
Very delicious! Marco was my server and very helpful. All of the staff made me feel at home and I really appreciated the hospitality. The food was visually beautiful and had complex flavors. I had the octopus for an appetizer, chile pasta for the primi, bronzino fish for the secondi and the cannoli for dessert which was some of the best cannoli I have EVER had - great recommendation Marco! The bronzino was fried and I prefer it roasted but I did enjoy it. The octopus was very tender with some crispy ends and spiced up with some sausage, highly recommend. The Chile pasta was tender, creamy with a slight spicy heat. Really enjoyed the vibe and will come back with friends.
This was a great pick for dinner on my birthday! The staff was very accommodating and continued to make special recommendations and offerings throughout my dinner. The cheesecake dessert was a nice addition as well.
Thanks to the folks at RoVino for turning a random weekday dinner into a fun date night.
Our server, Luis, suggested some appetizers we hadn't considered. Adding the brussel sprouts really rounded out the meal, and meant that we had leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
The cocktails, prepared by Nathan, were excellent. RoVino had a more interesting selection than I expected, and Nathan helped us navigate the options. I quite liked the Cilegia.
Anthoney was our waiter he was friendly, knowledgeable, and gave good recommendation. We ordered the calamari and deep fried meatballfor an appetizer, both were really good I would have preferred the calamari to be a little crisper but it was good. For our main Entrée we ordered the mix grill for 2 and Lamb Chops both were hella good. Dessert we went big and ordered the cannoli, lemon tart, blueberry cake, and oreo cheesecake. The cannoli was by far the best dessert should have ordered another one to go. We will definitely be back the next time we visit San Diego.
An enjoyable evening with delicious food was had at the RoVino Restaurant . The husband got exactly what he wanted though it wasn’t listed on the menu together: rotisserie chicken and Alfredo pasta as a side dish. I had the yummy Brussels sprouts and bruschetta on gluten free bread. The Brussels sprouts were the best I have ever had. We were brought bread to start and I received gluten free toasted and seasoned slices. I usually just get ignored at restaurants when my husband receives bread. What a nice change. Our waiter also brought me two wines to sample. Nice experience all around.
I love your food and all of you are really nice and you restaurant food is amazing so I hope you have a great career for restaurant. And this is from Eli. Thank you Brandon
