One of the Restaurant highlights in San Diego. Great atmosphere inside and awesome stylish bar on the roof. It's quite fancy, and so are the prices. But you definitely get what you pay for. You can also try simply to get some drinks to catch the atmosphere - they do them with love.

This place is sexy! So we decided to just come for a few cocktails and we were served by the great “antiMixologist” Chris! He was a gem, great personality and a very very good bartender! Even though it was busy, he stayed attentive to us and made sure to check that we liked our cocktails. We were able to try the Christmas menus “Santa’s Little Helper” which was like a Christmas version of an old fashion and the “Naughty List” which was a Christmas version of an Espresso Martini. We also asked him to make some “Chris Cocktails” and he made us a couple special holiday gifts! Go see him and definitely go see this place, the upstairs bar is waiting for you 😉

Upscale Steakhouse restaurant in the heart of little Italy. We were downstairs in the main restaurant which is beautifully decorated and low light levels give it an intimate atmosphere but it does get noisy. The other option is the roof top area with views of the City. The Steak Diane was cooked table side and was delicious as was the 8 oz fillet. The mashed potatoes, green beans and mushrooms were tasty sides but got cold quickly. They should look at warmers to help keep everything hot. We also had a shrimp cocktail and snails served on bone marrow. We had a complimentary macaroon for our anniversary which was delicious and highly recommended. All in all a delicious meal and a pleasant experience. Note however that this place is expensive. With tip and a glass of wine each, the bill for 2 was $320.00 which is too much for us to visit again any time soon.

I recently dined at this extraordinary steakhouse, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. The quality of the food was impeccable - every bite was a delight. The staff's dedication to providing exceptional service was evident throughout the meal. The atmosphere was both awesome and adorable, making it the ideal setting for any special occasion. I can't wait to return!

This was the best “fancy” meal I’ve had. My fiancée had been saying that she wanted to try Born and Raised in Little Italy so I made surprise reservations for her birthday. We got the steak, Mac and cheese, broccoli, and some espresso martinis. Everything they brought us was delicious and made to perfection! I had never had an espresso martini and I was impressed. The food was cooked to perfection and everything tasted so good. The ambiance is dark so be advised if you are hard of sight. There’s cute ambiance lighting at each table that can be adjusted but the vide is definitely on the romantic side. The decor looks like many of the other places in San Diego with the retro styling and dark lighting. Apparently the owners own several other big names in SD so this makes sense. Overall if you are looking for a nice place to eat for a special occasion, I think Born and Raised fits the bill. I can’t wait to come back.

Excellent place for high end steak and cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxing with beautiful interior design. The roof top is very busy and has a beautiful view of the city. The staff are kind and very attentive during the entire time I was there. Make sure you have a reservation because this place is popular. Especially if you want to sit at the rooftop. What I recommend: The meatball, Mac & cheese, potato purée, table side Caesar salad, steak (whatever cut you prefer) , and the chocolate cake

Overall good experience. Had to wait 11 minutes past our reservation time. Tomahawk steak was served raw with an overdone sear that almost was burnt. Seemed like it was rushed to get to the table. The waiter and other drink fillers were nice and helpful. We might be back. The interior decoration and classy/modern vibe is inviting and really sets the mood.

This place changed my whole view on fine dining. From the moment you walk in you’re greeted with floor to ceiling wood and fixtures. The view from upstairs is extremely beautiful and their is flowers and unique decor everywhere. The staff here is on another level as well. I came in for my birthday and the staff made me feel like a prince. They wished me happy birthday several times and gave me a birthday card, free drinks, free desert, and just excellent service. The food here is the best of it, just mouth watering. I ordered the dry aged rib eye and it was cooked to perfection. A perfect medium rare and crust. The mushrooms as well were so good and i’ve never had anything like it. I’m so happy I celebrated my birthday here and whenever I’m back in san diego I will be coming here!

The steak sampler was great! Meat was perfectly cooked and without heavy sauces, instead with just salt. It complemented the carefully cooked steaks. The sides were also amazing, mushrooms are a must! The table side steak tartare is great, the house made chips were a bit stale cause we went on the day of the hurricane, but I'm sure they're usually great. We got a complementary macaron as the desert as we were there celebrating our 10 year anniversary.

We stopped walking because this place's beautiful atmosphere & vibes. Luckily, we were able to get a seat since someone had canceled their reservation. The Uni Pasta and steak were good. To be honest, I wouldn't go as far as saying they were extraordinary, but they were certainly in line with the reputation of a "steakhouse". The staff provided great service, and the view of the 4th of July fireworks from the terrace was fantastic. If I visit San Diego again, I will definitely come back to this place. I felt like a movie "The Great Gatsby" while I stying at this place.

Everything was top notch! Staff were friendly, decor was stylish and clean, drinks were tasty, and the food? Excellent. We started with Jamón Iberico and Burgundy snails and both were so flavorful. This Jamón was the real deal. For the main course, I had a ribeye and my partner had the melt in your mouth Japanese wagu. We shared sides of dirty hash browns and mushrooms, which were prepared in a Parmesan sauce I could not get enough of. And since the weather was great, we sat up top and enjoyed all this delicious food in the open air. I'd be hard pressed to think of a more lovely way to enjoy the evening!

Came here for our Anniversary dinner, and had a perfect experience. Make a reservation a day or two in advance. It's in the Little Italy area, so the whole area was buzzing. The ambiance and decor was inviting and cozy. The bar is one of the most vast that I've seen, and the upstairs open air dining area was nice as well. We started off with drinks, that were good and strong. For food, we had the 35oz. Porterhouse steak, which was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. To accompany we added the mac & cheese, the broccolini, and the garlic bread. Everything was so good. To finish it off, we got the 7-layer carrot cake. It was probably the best I've ever had. It was so tall, we couldn't even get through half of it. Jason was our server, and he gave us top-tier service. I'd come back for the ambiance alone, but the food and drinks were wonderful. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny, but you'll go home happy(and with leftovers)!

It is perfect for a special occasion, wether it’s a date night or a night out with friends and/or family. The staff new we were celebrating a birthday and they delivered a hand written birthday card for the one having her birthday. The food is amazing, and the service is so nice and the food comes out quickly. The terrace is also very nice for drinks

Hands down, the best steak I've ever had. Beautifully appointed interiors. Great vibe. Reserve your table way in advance if you want upstairs. We ate downstairs and our server helped us get an after dinner drink upstairs at the bar.

My partner and I came here for our 3 year anniversary expecting a high class dinner! Man did they deliver! The whole experience was absolutely amazing. Not only did they greet us with a hand-written card but they also gave us a free dessert to celebrate! The staff was incredibly personable and so caring the entire time! And the food… some of the best I’ve ever had in my life!!! I know it is pricy but it is definitely worth it if you get the chance!!!

We decided to visit this place since it was our anniversary. Loved our waiter. He was nice and knowledgeable about what drinks to enjoy and what steaks to decide on. He showed us a variety of champagne, so I ended up having champagne. My husband had some whiskey drink, and it was awesome. We had a salad. I hate to say this, but it had a hair in it. And it wasn't mine because I have fushia color hair. I said we should say something, but my husband didn't want to. It was in his salad. The Mac n cheese was good. My steak was good. I like to BBQ steak. So I think it was way overpriced. I mean $65 for ribeye? Hmmm. My husband wanted to treat me a fancy dinner. We've never spent $300 on dinner before, so it was fun. I don't know if I will go back. I did enjoy the experience. To end the night, he asked if we wanted a dessert. We were stuffed, so we said no. He brought us a little treat for our anniversary anyway. That was very nice of him.

One of the best restaurants in all of San Diego! I have been here countless times. I love coming back for dinner or for their amazing happy hour. The happy hour starts at 3pm and is served upstairs on their beautiful rooftop. My suggestion is to show up before 3pm in order to secure a spot because it fills up quickly. For dinner I usually like to eat downstairs because it has a darker more romantic vibe. My favorite items are are the Table Side Caesar, the Dirty Hashbrowns, the Steak Tasting, the Cheeseburger, and the happy hour Caviar and Cava.

Loved the atmosphere. Tableside Caesar salad was fun but nothing life changing. The dirty hashbrowns, however, were. Also had the steak sampler and the Japanese Wagyu was out of this world. Capped it off with phenomenal carrot cake for my birthday. Will be thinking about this meal for a while. Definitely recommend.
