In a world where even Greek cuisine has been taken over by chains, it’s great to have a family owned small business that nails the food and service. We really enjoyed our lunch at Georgia’s while visiting recently. Food was excellent and service was great and very personal. Food came out quickly and the prices were OK. The restaurant feels slightly dated on the inside, but it works! Just thinking about our lunch has got me hungry again!
One of the most Greek restaurant in San Diego. We love their outdoor patio dining. Thw interior decor was amazing. The staff and server are very friendly making sure we have everything we wanted and if the food is delicious and of course it was. We had beef kebab and calamari plates and was really sumptuous. We had their homemade baklava as a dessert and it was a real delicacy.
We discovered this wonderful place and will be coming here more regularly for the deliciously prepared and presented food. It's been in business since 1977 and we know why: tastey goodness!
Recommend the Opa plate so you get a bit of several things-- it's all delicious and the gyro is so tender! Big enough to share. The service was friendly and the wait was reasonable. There's a garden-like sunroom dining area, as well as indoor dining. I recommend dressing up a bit and will warn that you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom.
Such a lovely little spot. I believe it is family owned and operated. The food is authentic and delicious. They have plants in their outside dining area and it is beautiful. You feel like you’re eating at your Greek grandmothers home (I don’t have a Greek grandmother but that’s what it feels like haha) It’s a great little spot for yummy healthy food.
Georgia's is great on EVERY aspect. We just came from there and the food is amazing especially the Mousaka plate. We went there in March to celebrate my birthday and today we went to celebrate my husband's and my daughter's birthday. There were 6 of us and we ordered a couple of appetizers and our main dishes. The staff is amazing and our waitress was extremely attentive, always making sure our classes weren't empty and checking on us constantly. A lot of servers at other restaurants could takes lessons on how to be a great waitress from her! Our waitress came with two complimentary pieces of Baklava with a candle so the birthday guest could blow them out and all their staff came along to sing happy birthday to my husband and daughter.
This Greek restaurant is a hidden gem on Rosecrans. The interior is an elegant Greek atmosphere. I had the gyro and spanakopita lunch plate for $17. It came with a lovely Greek salad, rice and warm pita bread. Everything was delicious. A glass of Greek wine went well with the meal. I will definitely be back.
The food was excellent. The spanakopita was flaky, with a nice mix of cheeses and spinach. The dolmades were tender and flavorful. Moussaka was like eating a casserole cloud, light and delicious. The gyro and pita bread were scrumptious. The baklava is tall, flaky and packed with walnuts
Georgia's is absolutely one of the best Greek restaurants I've ever been to. It's as close to mom's cooking as possible. This place will definitely be my spot whenever I'm in San Diego.
I haven't been here in almost a decade when the belly dancers would perform. Not sure if they still do. I arrived on a Saturday around 5ish. Seating was immediate. You know what was also immediate? The owner came to my table to greet me and ask me about my day. Interestingly, she did that for all the tables. I am mostly impressed with how the beautiful tropical plants inside the restaurant, alongside the street side block the eyesore of traffic. And no gnats!
The inside tables have white table cloth coverings while the patio/inside have wood tables with no cloths. I ordered the chicken grilled kebab dinner plate. There are choices of chicken like broiled, grilled, and boiled. Anyhoot, the cool feature is the plating of the kebab without the stick. Yum. And the plating is so appealing that even the waitress was taking pics of the food. Ha!
