This was my first time here, I usually go to the one on Morena Blvd. This one had seating outside in the sun or inside in the cavernous dark. The front door slammed shut and is something I would address because there should be a welcoming sound when you enter. We sat in fun, older booths and ordered drinks. The chips and individual plastic salsa cups were delivered. We tried burritos and a lettuce wrap chicken and egg plant. I was trying out eggplant and I usually don't like it which was the case here, but I did like the chicken. Next time, I'd only get the chicken like the helpful waitress suggested. Or I'll get a fajita next time. This place has so much fun potential and it's spacious. They could have some fun happy hours with music, mixers, or games.
This is one of my favorite places to eat!! On Mission Gorge Rd . I'm always greeted with a friendly hello and welcome by the wonderful staff. Alot of the staff have been there for several years and when they get to know you they remember what you order and what you like. They check on you often as well. The dining room makes you feel like you are in Mexico. Definitely recommend you try it!!!
Mission Gorge location is my favorite...great server and my Mexican pizza was unbelievable!
We came back to SD for our 16th anniversary and Tio Leo's did it again!
Ricardo was our server, had great customer service and attentive. We had the Steak Ranchero Plate and Carnitas Flautas. Food was seasoned well and great flavor. We enjoy ourselves everytime we come down to visit.
The food is consistently good and the service is always with a smile... the portions are big and I can never finish a meal, but they are great about supplying to go containers, so plan to eat 1/2 & take home leftovers for next meal. If you visit during a sporting event the bar can get loud, and the noise travels making it tough to enjoy your own company...but normally it's nice and relaxing... they also have outdoor seating if you are in the mood for the patio feel...but Mission Gorge gets busy too, so be prepared for car traffic noise.
I've been a customer for decades. Recently the service has dropped off but that's the case with most restaurants. The food was good but in the future I will probably go to the Morena location. The food is a bit better there.
A staple of the community. Allied Gardens, Grantville, whatever. Mission Gorge. Grew up with this place and it still holds up.
Brought our two year old and they were accommodating. The enchiladas are delicious. The servers are attentive. Water was a great temperature.
Parking is kind of an issue, the main lot fills up quick and the supplemental lot is across the alley. But whatever. No bums bothered us.

First time here in probably 15 years. Not a crowded night. Waiter was polite and friendly. Service was quick and food was as good as I remembered.
Still our favorite Mexican restaurant in San Diego, we always go there when we’re in town. Love the food, friendly staff.
This place is amazing! It was my first time eating here. Simple menu, big portions. Great atmosphere, and our server was really nice. The mango margarita is super yum 😋
We had a party of 16 for dinner and the entire evening was perfect. Excellent service by our very attentive waitress and busboys. Food was perfect, no mix ups on our orders & was served quickly and hot. Drinks from the bar were strong and the coffee was fresh. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Thank you Tio Leo's for a fantastic meal.
We have always loved Tio Leo's. Their chips and salsa are the best! Try the crab enchiladas...they don't disappoint.
Super nice, local sort of bar, Jose the manager has a great crew. We are not from here but will be back sometime.
Food is fantastic! Jenny, our regular waiter is great. She really takes good care of her customers and makes sure our experience is great.
