The food was soooo good. The puposas or so delicious. They're authentic salsa was like nothing I've ever tasted before. Tamales were fresh. The food portions are great. Not too expensive. Love the restaurant the artwork, the layout very homelike.I recommend it to everyone. You've got to try this place.

Food is awesome, but you have to wait at least 10-15 minutes before a server gets to you and even longer to get your food. When we went they were packed and only had 1 server and 2 ladies cooking. They definitely need to organize their staff. Other than that, the food is ahhhh mazing!
I have been going to this place since they were a little whole on the wall. Always worth the drive from Oceanside to Imperial for the great service and awesome food. Will keep coming back for as long as they remain in business. I love it!
The best pupusas and Salvadoran cuisine in San Diego and beyond. Hands down. Also, the staff is welcoming. A positive environment is always a plus.
Omg the best pupusas ever! Love love this place. A total must go to place!!
Love this place. El atol is a dream treat. The owner will come and chat with the patrons when she has a chance.
I love the food, best place to get pupusas...Horrible service tho, they need to work on that
Phenomenal food! Definitely authentic, savory with plenty of items to choose from. The pupusas brought me back to when I was in Comalapa
Absolutely loved it. Food so good, fresh, well prepared, large portions. There was a bit wait but not surprised because food was so good, restaurant looked very busy.
The place is amazing!!
Food and service is another level.
The staff is super friendly. They explain everything about all the meals and the selection you make.
Definitely my #1 go-to place.
Thank you guys!!!
Service here is very friendly and almost familiar in a sense. Waiters are courteous and good at their jobs. The atmosphere is great. The food here is unique and has great taste. Could be better but the drinks like the horchata and the ensalada make up for it.
This place is absolutely amazing. My friend and I ordered the ceviche, four different kinds of the pupusas and the stuffed plantain, which we ended up ordering another of as soon as we tasted it because it was so amazing. Everything is made fresh so there’s a little bit of a wait for the food that is definitely worth it because I can’t say enough about how delicious everything we ordered was. The service was awesome as well, we had at least three waiters checking on us to see if we needed anything and how the food was and they were all very nice. I can’t wait to go back and take my husband there because I know he will love it too.
Love this place, the food is amazing here, I ve tried many dishes here like the caldo de pollo, caldo de verduras, papusas, tamales, pollo encebollado, bistec ranchero and others, and they’ve all been extremely tasty, this place never disappoints. And the tortillas are the best, handmade taste like cheese😊

First time trying this restaurant. Portions were great and very shareable.
Loved how they offered kids options.
Drinks are just as delicious as the food.
They seemed very popular, every table had a drink. Ordered the pineapple, was delicious.
Parking can be very difficult no matter the time of day.
Clean and inviting restaurant.
Friendly and attentive staff.
Pupusas were delicious.
The place was busy, but regardless the service was fast. Sopa de Res is really good and a big portion.
Delicious! I've never seen so many options for pupusas! I usually get cheese bc I'm not a big meat eater, but there were options like mushrooms and zucchini!
Excellent comida salvadoreña. Pupusas feel fresh and tasty. Appetizers are delicious. Affordable prices. This restaurant is a great choice when you looking for some authentic comida salvadoreña.
I don’t even know where to begin to describe how delicious and wonderful the food is. Get the pupusa and dress that bad boy in the heavenly pickled cabbage.
(Everything pictured below was incredible but my current food coma has forgetting the name of what I ordered.)
Food was amazing, I would recommend informing guests of long wait times for the food and encouraging ordering a few quick appetizers
This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in all of San Diego. It's got a great story, is true to its roots, and puts out fantastic cuisine. The pupusas and baleadas are to die for. Service is great, though it can be slow.
Everything we ordered was flavorful and well cooked. They had different options to pick from. Be careful with the hot sauce cause it has a kick. Service was good initially but faded a bit as the place got bisier.
The food was great! The restaurant was super clean.
My server was personable and efficient. The girls up front were a little rough and crass...Maybe because it was near closing on Sunday ...I hope.
Definitely will come back for more pupsas & juices .
I really enjoyed my meal at El Salvadoreno. I ordered the Pupusas Chicharron + Queso + Frijol + Jalapeno + Loroco (Pork Cheese Bean Jalapenos and Loroco is a popular edible herb / flower) and I ordered Ensalada + Pechuga de Pollo (Green salad with Chicken)
Both were really good and I loved the spicy sauce they served when I sat down.
Service was great; menus were clean and so were the tables and floors etc.
The best pupusas in San Diego by far! I’ve been coming here for the last three years and the quality of the food has not gone down. Things to try: any pupusa, tamal, casamiento, plátanos fritos and the meat dishes. The jugo de maracuja is literally my favorite there. This spot is definitely a must try!

This place is to die for. The food is so fresh and tasty that we are going there every week !!. What I like are the pupas (Simple beans and cheese) and the Pollo Encebollado. My wife loves the carne asada Baleadas. Highly recommended
