After tasting the Tan Tan, this place has spoiled me for ramen! Damn them (jk)! I live in Antique Row, and there are two other ramen joints within a mile of my house. But when asked where I want to get ramen, the answer lately has been "I want the Tan Tan from Hachi Ramen." I love the unusual creamy texture on the top of the ramen, and the flavor is simply outstanding! I usually add a soft-boiled egg for extra decadence! I want to try other things on the menu, but I'm not going to get a chance until I get tired of the Tan Tan.

Yummy ramen!! Great service. Only 1 gripe.. wine pour was like 4 oz. please pour the minimum 6-7 industry minimum especially at $9 a glass. I think I had 2 sips on my drink. My 5 star is for the food but if they can improve the n their drink service, I'd be happier.

It was our first time at Hachi Ramen and both of us really enjoyed the meal. I had a bite of my husband Roasted Duck with thin Ramen noodles with added black garlic oil. The duck breast meat was perfectly cooked, flavorful and tender. I had the Seafood Ramen with the thicker ramen noodles , Hokkaido scallops, shrimp and corn. The broth on both bowls was perfectly seasoned, and delicious. We both said that we will return to order the others Ramen bowl next time. We shared the pickles appetizer and it was very tasty too. Definitely recommend and will return.

One of my favorite restaurants to eat at when I’m in town from LA. Service is excellent and food is always on point. Definitely need to go back soon!

I took a chance on something new and didn’t like it now because of quality of food but just my tatstes, switched with wife to traditional pork ramen and man was that amazing. So a place with what I consider not common ramen and if you like traditional style high quality meats and noodles and great broth.

Very clean and very well put together. The vibe is really good. Excellent and friendly customer service and awesome food. Paying up front is super convenient. Parking can be tricky but not a problem at all. Will definitely come back and highly recommend!

First Tan Tan Ramen that I have had outside of Japan or Honolulu that is legit. Go for double chicken, pork belly, and an egg added. You are welcome.

Great location near Balboa Park attractions. Just a short walk from the Museum of Man and a great alternative to the "park food." Friendly service and very good sandwich options. Breakfast served all day too. Highly recommend.
