We had a great dinner at Farmer’s Table! We sat on the dog friendly patio and ate the black squid ink spaghetti, wild boar sausage cavatelli, and crab cake. The food was delicious, and the service was great and quick. Bread and butter comes out at the start which is really good. Overall I highly recommend, love to see such interesting and unique menu items.
Great food and good service. Portions are on the large side. We had a lot to take home. Service could have been better. Our bread took a long time to get to our table and appetizer came at the same time as the entree.
This was my first time here at this location or any of the farmers table locations for that matter. The inside was quirky and warm with great decor and lighting. We sat out on the patio and our server was incredibly friendly and helpful. We got the short rib and the sea bass and everything was delicious. They have a fun selection of cocktails as well as beer and wine. They had a list of daily specials that also looked amazing, and the sea bass was actually one of them. I will definitely be returning We had a great time!
Had a lovely experience this morning at Farmers table. I had the chiliquilles and my kids had the pancakes and eggs Benedict. Love the coffee here! Meal was excellent as was the service. The place is gorgeous inside, also their Mary’s are off the hook cool looking!
Great place! They have a wonderful staff and a nice outdoor eating area that is dog friendly. We went there for breakfast and had the cali omelette, pancakes, waffles and french toast. All of it was delicious! They also give generous portions and their fresh juice was delicious. Definitely would come back here. The food was so good we forgot to take pictures of most of the food.
We ordered the jambalaya and the breakfast burrito and both were delicious. The jambalaya had a lot of shrimp and andouille sausage. The beans that came with it had no seasoning and was the worst part of the meal. Overall decent prices for San Diego and tasty food.
First time here. Came here on a Saturday night and they seated us right away. They were still doing their San Diego Restaurant Week menu so I got their: crab cake, farmer's salad, sea bass, and tiramisu. My partner got the pappardelle and a free limoncello sponge cake for doing the Yelp check in. The entrees were the highlight, followed by the desserts. Service was a little slow and the salt on my sea bass fish was inconsistent -- there were some very salty bites and some bland bites. It really has a family-owned feel where the staff genuinely seems to enjoy each other's company.
Farmers Table is to San Diego as the Gaslamp district is to tourist. A delightful place that people socialize, catch up on life, and share the joys and sometimes sorrow. It is an eclectic sort of wonder that keeps the eyes amused, to say the least. The wait staff are as courteous as they are knowledgeable. Ask a question, and two may be three will answer. The dishes are superb in every sense of the word. Delivered hot and timely. Portions sizes may overwhelm you. Seafood dishes are simply amazing, shrimp, that is juicy, hot, and not over cook. Calamari melts in your mouth, divine. Try the Mammoth Double Nut. A dark begium style beer. Smooth and rich with an unstated taste. There is an outside patio area for large gatherings. A couch to lounge on. Price point $$$
Always good, service was great! I usually go to La Mesa location but tried this for lunch. Had the Salad and added salmon. The Salad and Salmon seemed bigger and was better at the other location but it was still really good. The salmon had no seasoning is all unlike the other location it was grilled with seasoning or something. Only waited 20 minutes with no reservation and it was packed.
We came here on vacation. It’s a great restaurant with a great atmosphere. We started with the clams and mussels appetizers. The broth was awesome. I had the short rib dish and it was delicious! I highly recommend that dish. We would go back.
Minor negative:
They had coloring menus for the kids, but nothing to color with.
What an absolutely fantastic place for brunch. The food is fresh, healthy, and super tasty. Today I enjoyed the short ribs eggs Benedict, the farm salad, and a chicken pizza. I would order all three of them again. And if you haven’t seen their bloody Mary’s, it’s worth going just for the sight. They have three locations, and about to open a fourth.
Farmer's Table had a great menu with delicious food and the right amount of variety! The prices were very reasonable. The restaurant had a great ambiance, especially in the patio area. Service was wonderful and we had a very pleasant meal. I would definitely come back!
Stopped on a whim driving through Bay Park. Glad we did. Great service, very friendly!
Place was nice and welcoming and the food had a variety of options for breakfast 🥞 🍳 and all erred on the creative side. Good for us, but if you’re a Denny’s person, stick to Denny’s, I guess. We got the chilaquiles and the jambalaya (breakfast version). The chilaquiles were tasty though not 🌶. Ok for most people. Good flavor and pretty authentic. The Jambalaya had shrimp 🍤 and I ordered eggs over easy. Seems like the right way to go, the yolk, cooked perfectly, allowed me to mix into the rice, sausage, and shrimp. End result, a very very tasty breakfast jambalaya! We both had sides of breakfast potatoes, classically made and were tasty as well. My only caveat on the food is the side of fruit wasn’t as fresh as you’d like - probably a factor of using non-seasonal fruit. I’d suggest a rotating seasonal fruit 🍉 plate for a side, considering it adds $4 to the price.
The portions were massive, though, and considering organic was everywhere on the menu, the value per dish was great.
Overall, a great experience both food, service, and location. They do a great job of insulating the venue from the strip mall feel, but it’s Bay Park in San Diego so it can never be too bad. Kudos to the chefs, cooks, servers, bussers, and hosts! Doing a great job 👏🏼- this is a good restaurant!
This place is so unique. The interior decor is very cute and rustic. I came in for brunch on a Sunday, restaurant was busy and there was a little bit of a wait. We got the most amazing bloody mary along with the short rib Benedict, breakfast sandwich and an order of original pancakes. Everything was so good and the service was great.
Loved it! Came here for a birthday brunch. She made the reservation easily on Open Table. The vibe and decor was so cute. I had the Ragin’ Cajun Bloody Mary which was like an extra meal on top of the drink (like bacon wrapped shrimp, pickled veggies, jalapeño, and andouille sausage) so I balanced it out with the Farmers Salad which was a perfect balance. The salad was fresh, light and flavorful with the mix of fruits, candied walnuts, arugula and feta. I’m excited to come back again!
I visited Farmer's Table with a friend for brunch yesterday. They have such a beautiful set up. It's spacious, the decor is cute, and the service was great. I was there at a slower hour so the food came out fast. I ordered stuffed french toast with a side of bacon and orange juice. It was delicious. My friend ordered french toast and a grapefruit mimosa. She enjoyed hers as well. I'd love to come for dinner!
Fantastic location, really fits the sprouts vibe. Comp coffee tea and pastry bites for your wait of 30 min plus. Beautiful atmosphere that is dog friendly on the patio. AMAZING bloody mary selection. In fact I may just order three butcher's block for my meal. Great brunch and breakfast selections. Kids got the stuffed French toast and Granola with fresh fruit. Both were amazing. Chilaquiles were decent at best, the crab cakes bennedict was ok too. Something about the atmosphere and how nice three staff was, and variety of food and beverage options really made up for the lack of flavor in the food. The food was good just not exactly great (except the Granola and French toast and butcher's block accoutrama which were simply amazing). The staff was just so nice and friendly that I was able to over look their mistakes with the ordering. I'm so happy that a good brunch place is in our neck of the woods, it's been a long time coming! Will be back many times.
