The Mad Beet Can't be Beat!
Dog & Healthy People friendly vibe in the heart of Pacific Beach.
Brian Dunlap has been running The Mad Beet in Pacific Beach for almost two years, which in PB is an eternity for a restaurant or bar. His delicious juices got him such a popular reputation in the local health crazed community that he recently moved to a bigger location directly on Garnet Avenue.
Brian's personal favorite is The "Sir Melton John" wrap. I have to agree. It's delicious. And nutritious!! (Pardon the corny rhyming, but I'm high on beets right now as I write this).
Although to my friend's dismay who loves everything spicy, I chose to opt out of the jalapeños on my "Sir Melton John" wrap. The chipotle still gave it a nice kick.
You get to chose the wrap of your choice, from tomato basil to spinach, it's almost unfair how tasty and healthy everything is here.
My personal favorite addiction from The Mad Beet to stave off any sniffles is the "Green Latifah": Lime, spinach, cucumber, kale, celery, ginger which provides the perfect anti flu shot you can get.
After a heavy workout I love coming here to get an immediate boost of protein with the "Robin Thick" shake.
But One of my favorite things can't be bought off the menu. It's the vibe. Only The Mad Beet can provide this unique healthy & energetic, loving vibe that you feel when you walk in this juice bar.
The Mad Beet blends up a unique vibe of health, love, and inspiration where other like minded, healthy conscious Californians come and gather around the community inspiring picnic benches Brian has laid out for his customers. Even a wee lil picnic bench with crayons is in the middle of the joint for his young visitors. I'm sure he'll let you use the crayons if you're young at heart. ❤️
You can even buy the art work he displays by local artists on the wall. Some of the pieces I hope stay here forever, because of how they feed my soul as his wraps and juices fuel my cells.

We were visiting San Diego from Chicago and found the Mad Beet on the way to find a Starbucks. What a cool spot! We both had juice smoothies with Red Bull and they were amazingly delicious! We even bought a stylin' Mad Beet tank top for our daughter when we came back the next day for more!!
Not only does this place have amazing healthy options, but the customer service is top notch as well!!! Come in and try a fresh juice! I highly recommend the Mikale Jackson :)

This place has some pretty bomb smoothies. Especially the Imagine Dragons Fruit smoothie. It is walking distance from the beach on the corner of Cass and Garnet. I highly recommend checking them out on the way to work or before/after going to the beach or gym.

Mad Beet has been my favorite fruit bowl/ smoothie place in PB since 2013!! I love the menu names, the free play on arcade games and the overall vibe! I am still working on trying out everything on the menu but Bananas Foster the People bowl is by far my favorite and I love to add peanut butter to it!! Abbalicious and Celine Dijon are my go to wraps!
Favorite smoothie spot in San Diego, and I’ve tried heaps! Açaí bowls are also great. Play some Street Fighter while you wait, head to the beach after…only a block away! Classic PB place to fuel up and enjoy a beautiful day.
Hands down best smoothie place in all of San Diego.. I am a health and fitness freak and they have all the health and goodies .. everything is super fresh fairly low in sugar. A little expensive but what isn’t these days and I don’t mind paying for quality which everything here is. My go to is the tropical Ellie Goulding loaded up with all the extras but their acai and pitaya bowls are also a treat. My girl Sarah is also a doll and always remembers what I order which is extremely impressive considering I get the works! Great local spot highly recommend!

This is my favorite juice place in San Diego! The quality is always fire and I love the people who work here so much, it’s always the best customer service and personable. Tina & Ashley I love you! I personally get the Lemonem/mild. It’s my veggie hit for the week.
Not only are the names of the smoothies super creative, the smoothies are fresh as can be! Been going to this joint for over 10 years and I can always count on them to get me the perfect pick me up in smoothie version! Staff is always so friendly and welcoming and the arcade games in the store are perfect for some fun if you have to wait a little. Love the Mad Beet!!
Jocelyn & Lucy were very kind & helpful, they shared with me what were some of their favs on the menu & helped me choose a food & drink. I got the Beets By Dre & the Sir Melton Jon & it’s very tasty & delicious. Will be coming back thanks to the staff! Give those girls a raise! The environment was very cool too, they have arcade machines inside so you can play while you wait for your food & drink!

The smoothie I got was the Kenny spiniChesney, it was loaded with peanut butter flavor. I didn't want it to end.
My friend got a basic smoothie because he is basic and it was guava, strawberries, banana and pineapple. It was fresh cold and delicious the guava taste really brought out the fresh fruit.

Loved my smoothie!!! One of my favorite smoothie shops in SD. The cashier/smoothie maker (Zoe) was extremely nice and gave me a break down of all the best drinks to get. Also really enjoyed street fighter :D
