Absolutely amazing!! Complete meal with drink under $20. Definitely get the Hot Pot and I recommend the spicy miso sauce with pork. So delicious.

Great meal .. very tasty, many options, spice or no spice, Japanese style or other .. love the meat and seafood choices, and the Saki is great too. Come one come all.
I'm used to the original Shabu Shabu in Little Tokyo (downtown L.A.). I'm very pleased with this place in San Diego. I'm thinking a weekly visit, if not more is a must! <3

My husband and I love this place❤️. It's our favorite place to eat! Food is great. 🍽
Great food and friendly servicewas good too‼
Worth our 70 mile drive
Love it! Definitely a go to place whenever I visit CA ..
Excellent new experience eating!! It doesn't matter the far from the border I'll go from Mexico to eat it !!
Absolutely love this place ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ all the staff members are super nice and super cool. I am always taken good care of every visit...and of course the food tastes AMAZING!!!!
When I'm having a craving, this is one of the first places my husband and I love to go. Food is great and the staff are always very polite.
Warm hospitality & yummy hot pot.
what's not to love?
: )
Sukiyaki is great! I'm not very familiar with shabu-shabu and I'm glad I cane here with friends who love this restaurant. They walked me through the menu and how to prep and eat it.
The broth is very tasty. It has so much flavor. Boiling the veggies and cooking the meat added more flavor to it. I was so full and satisfied with the food.
The AYCE options at Shabu Shabu are a great deal. Thinly sliced pork, New York sheak, mussels, shrimp, tofu, salmon & chicken served with an abundant selection of veggies (cabbage, spinach, mushrooms, etc). The dipping sauces are flavorful without being overbearing and the sukiyaki broth pairs perfectly with both meat and veggies.
The delightful server (sorry, I can't remember his name!) is fantastic. We hadn't been to Shabu Shabu in nearly a year and he still remembered us. No matter how busy it is he's always attentive and personable - - making everyone who walks through the door feel welcomed.
I go here all the time, and I adore it! I sometimes try other hot pot places around town — some more expensive, some with different broths, some trendy, etc. — but every time I am disappointed in comparison. Shabu Shabu House is simple, cheap, and absolutely delicious. Nowhere else can you get a variety and quantity of food this good for the price. They even raised prices recently (for the first time in years — I was surprised it hadn’t happened earlier, given inflation), but it is still well-priced and worth it. My partner and I usually eat way past our fill for a little over $20 each. The server is so kind and attentive, always a joy to see. If you’re looking for somewhere to get a good hot pot, this is it!
One of my favorite hot pot places, always get the Japanese style broth, an we do the #3 all you can eat ( pictured below) the all you can eat option is always on the wall it’s not on the actual menu itself, but unlimited everything & i honestly just love the actual broth. The meats are extremely good this time it was super fresh i think in the past we’ve gotten it a little frozen but regardless the cuts themselves are so good, the pork and lamb are some of my personal favorites cause they have such a melt in your mouth texture & superb flavor. Salmon, mussels, shrimp, fish & shrimp balls all of it has never disappointed. The beef is extremely good as well but for some reason i will always love the pork & lamb more lol you also have the choice of noodle type an we always get the ramen noodles, they are so fresh and delicious and quickly cook, our daughter devours these noodles like it’s nothing. IF you are a spicy lover, ask for the a few drops of the ghost pepper in your soup, they literally have a small glass jar with a dropper in it an will add it to your broth for you, my fiancé does it every time an does about 2 drops an it’s way more than enough spice, i personally rather not have it but he LOVES it plus this is not a menu item an not of extra charge, it’s honestly just one of those, if you know .. you know things lol all in all I’ve never been disappointed and i absolutely love to come here for my hot pot cravings.
The server/owner is amazing, he can run the whole thing on his own alway friendly .the food is so fresh and easy to cook
Such a great experience. Took my family here and was really cool seeing my daughter cook hwr own food. Highly recommend taking the family. Food was good quality and tasty
Also watch one guy named Kirby serve the entire room solo. He kept a great attitude and listened to everyone's request. Haven't seen this level of service or hustle in a long time.
Definitely coming back!
I had a lamb with spicy miso. I highly recommend the spicy miso soup!
Meat was very good, broth was okay, we went during slow time but think they could hire maybe another server. Ayce seems like a good deal
So obsessed with this place. I moved to Boston recently and think about it often. Would consider moving back to SD for this place alone.
It’s about $30-45 for all you can eat depending on the quality of meat you want. Excellent food, amazing prices but most of all, Kirby is the reason to go! Awww
He was running the whole place by himself with only one other cook...on a Friday night if I may add! Overall great experience and will definitely come back.
Kirby was literally the sweetest. He cared about our portions, needs, and experience. Kirby went above and beyond. He is charismatic and caring. Please go here and have the experience.
Pretty good hot pot. Service was a bit iffy.
Honestly didn’t understand this place, but my parents loved it. Though with the way the seats were arranged… it felt more like I was eating alone than with them. Hot pot always striked me as a meal you share with others rather than a private dish. The menu was confusing, but tasty.
They’re also understaffed (only one person) and atmosphere was kinda stuffy. If we’re all going to sit side-by-side eating hot pot in a small room, might as well have more ventilation.
This pace is amazing, today they were very busy tonight. If you are coming at night on a Friday, good luck trying to find parking. The food was very good and fresh. The food was enough for us for $150. The meals included are meats and some dumplings and beer. Tonight there was only one person working, his name was Kirby. Kirby was very nice to us and was doing his best to take care of all the people in the restaurant. Overall, this place was very good, and great tasting food. Kirby is very nice and I hope he serves you sometime. 10/10! Highly Recommended! 💯💯
Amazing value for money. Highly recommend! If you’re vegetarian you can ask them to make a vegetarian (shoyu) broth. Can’t go wrong with this place. The food is fulfilling - you get rice, noodles, soup with veggies and choice of meat/tofu for $10-15 a person. Will definitely be bringing more friends here in the future!
I used to be a regular at this place. The renovations really made the interior look the way it deserves. Their ponzu sauce and meat options are amazing! The size and openness of the eating space make it easy to be seen and served. Fair prices for a lot of food, but terrible parking. Prepare for a walk.
My fiance and I went here for date night. This was probably the best noodle soup I have ever had! The waiting staff was very helpful on food selections and wine pairing. We had a fantastic time. I'm only giving 4 stars because it was a bit pricey.
A resteraunt that is greater than the sum of its parts. While individually the food, service, ambience and price is nothing to sneeze at, it all comes together in a really great great package. The food is amazing, while it doesnt seem like a lot of food the endless rice that comes with the shabu will leave anyone satisfied. The price for all of this is also incredibly low, i almost couldnt beileve it. For around 30-40 dollars two people can eat an enourmous amount of stuff. Of course, meat lovers might need to add a buck or two! The ambient lighting and overall relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place to come with your friends. Finally, the service is the most impressive part. It is mostly run by one guy, Kirby, who is very attentive, even when there is a full house. Absolutely lovely guy, hope this resertaunts starts gettting the recognition it deserves.
Awesome. So so good!
12/3/21 - Another great meal.
Everyone in my party ordered the regular size, and it filled all of our stomachs. The customer service was really orderly and the server was really friendly and hospitable. The only downside is that you cannot take out your food, but the food is delicious and worth every penny.
