This was about my 5th time coming here and I feel I have enough experience to right a review. I must say the food is absolutely amazing it's a simple menu with nothing out of its place. Super saucy, great flavor and just overall awesome! I enjoy the dishes they use to serve, too, nice touch. I have had all of the lamb curries, momos, naan, the pastry apetizers and of course the Chicken Tikka Masala. All pretty good, especially the naan (can't go wrong with delicious bread) but the spice levels vary on the curry for sure. Tikka? Totally rock a 6. The Takari? 4 is plenty thank you. Definetly worth a visit for the food. The service is where it lacks. Out of the 5 times, 2 were rough experiences, 1 was great and 2 were mediocre. Some servers don't write the order down and have messed up the order a couple times and were just not the best people to interact with. Not to mention one of the experiences I had the server did not seem "fully aware" and even said he wouldn't place the order a friend requested for whatever reason and argued with him about it until he complied. That was a one-off experience, however, and to me the food is worth coming back. Also, I've had good interactions, too, more than not. I recommend trying it out, love it and will come back often myself. - $60 for two - parking is average - food is amazing - service is better more often than not

First and foremost the price is decent, the portions could do better. I do agree that the curries were a tad bit sweet, but missing a few ingredients to give it that kick, the pakora was tasty. Wish there was more. The chicken butter Masala was very buttery and the chicken vindaloo was too sweet, wish they had more meat then sauce. The herbal Naan was so heavenly it fused and melted in your mouth with the savory and herbal mixture melting on your pallete. The service was great. Our server was nice and ensured we were well taken care of. If you are in yhe area I would recommend coming to five them a Try the aesthetic is very appealing

Great place for North Indian food. Loved all the curries and Naan. Bindi masala was excellent. Ambience is too good.

Ordered Bhanta Ra Chicken (Spice level 1), Chicken Tikka Masala (Spice level 7) and naan. Their spice level ranges from 1 to 10 and the server mentioned that the spice level across different dishes is not the same for each dish (a level 3 for one is not the same as another. The Tikka Masala tasted alright over the rice. The eggplant they use in Bhanta Ra is not like the purple eggplant but the 'Thai eggplant' variety that is green. At a spice level 1, I should have selected a higher level. The naan was very nice to eat, soft and easy to tear apart. The portions are good and the service was very kind. Ambiance of the location is quite nice, not too dimly lit and plenty of seating.

Absolutely delicious. The portions were incredible. Best Naan I’ve ever had, melts in your mouth. Spice from 0-10 to accommodate anyone. Gorgeous interior and wonderful atmosphere.

Point Loma location is the one I’ve always been too. First time at this location and it’s equally as good. Plenty of parking. Has indoor and patio seating. Very vegetarian friendly. I got the vegetable momo which are dumplings with paneer. I’m not a fan of paneer but it wasn’t noticeable. I also got vegetable samosa, came with two. Very flavorful. Got Daal soup which is a lentil soup. For my main dish I got vegetable vindaloo. The vindaloo here is a bit different than other places that I’ve eaten. There’s lots of vegetable that took over the sauce. The sauce was creamy and not spicy. Naturally this dish is spicy. But you had 1 through 10 level and I picked 3. It wasn’t spicy. The chiya masala tea was my favorite. It tastes like chai tea and it takes 20 minutes to make from scratch with milk spiced tea so order it early on. We ordered herb naan and cilantro garlic naan. The cilantro naan is the way to go.

The restaurant was very comfortable, lively, and had great food. Be careful when saying how spicy you want your food, if it’s too spicy they can’t change it. Great flavor though

Finally found authentic Nepali food. We loved everything we ordered. The flavors were like Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu. It’s very hard to find quality Nepali food as we’ve been to a few places. Look forward to coming back again soon

Delighted to have an Indian restaurant at walking distance. We went here to get takeout, but ended up sitting in the restaurant because the interior is actually quite pleasant! We chose the mixed momos - lamb was the best, followed by the veggie and then the chicken (a bit chewy). The Himalayan spice paste accompanying them was good, albeit a little salty. The chicken gravy with Himalayan spices was DELICIOUS. Beautiful hint of pepper at the end of each bite. The garlic nana was well seasoned. They also provide a bowl of dal, which is very homemade and comforting. There is also accompanying rice. Although the quantity looks less, it is not. The two of us had to push ourselves to finish it all. Overall, definite 4 stars and will back here very often!

The food at Taste of the Himalayas was excellent. We ordered lamb and shrimp dishes that were full of flavor, add to that the naan that was soft and buttery. I especially loved the coconut naan as it was both desert and part of the main meal. Definitely worth returning to explore more menu items. I gave 4 stars on service because our food took very long and we were already starving when we got to the restaurant. Perhaps they were understaffed?!

This was a completely new taste experience for me. Nepali, Bhutanese, and Tibetan dishes range from soothing to spicy, from vegetarian curries to meaty momos, and much more. Taste of the Himalayas are a testament to the diversity of the Himalayas with so many influences. I had an amazing lamb dish on a mix of superb spices mixed with spinach that was so delicious. I have so much more to try and I’m just surprised how much I loved. I also brought home a special lentils soup so unique that basically now every week I come back for that.

Food was authentic Indian / Himalayan and super delicious. It had shorter list of options today because of Christmas, but what they had was pretty well made. A word of caution, of you can't handle spice well, then ask for 1-4 spice level on their 1-10 scale. Overall, great experience from every perspective from location, ambience, staff to food.
