I'm working in the airline industry. I had a layover in San Diego and found this Thai restaurant was not far from the hotel.
I went to try and wasn't disappointed. The food was amazing and they made it so similar from what we have in Thailand. The service was second to none. I highly recommend 👍
Not only good looking, but also high quality tasting. The ginger broth has just the right level of sour and sweet flavor. The teriyaki chicken was also very tender. The pumpkin in the chicken bowl is an absolute upgrade.
My visit to Aaharn was a positive experience. Although I asked for a moderate 5/10 spice level, the food turned out spicier than expected. The curries, which come with rice, were quite tasty overall. The service was excellent, with the staff ensuring our comfort. The atmosphere was pleasant, offering a quiet and conducive environment for hanging out and conversation.
It's worth noting that the entrance is on the side, through the tap room, and the restrooms are located one floor below, accessible via stairs.
As an out of towner who loves a good Thai curry, this place was solid. Understated location, pleasant service, excellent taste.
Very nice Thai restaurant. Food was good, took the Tom yum soup and the curry. Staff was good.
I tried level 8 hotness and it was hot (though manegeable). If you are from Asia used to eating normal spicy food, take a 6 or a 7.
Probably only gripe is that they could have a larger serving for the soup and curry. But it's really hard to find an authentic taste here in the US too so I guess that's fine.
Such an awesome place for food especially if you are drinking and want dinner at Stone brewery. The cuisine is truly authentic medium heat is spicy and we are Colorado spicy folks that like stuff spicy. This place is awesome!
Auntie Linh (or Lyn), you've an absolute gem and AAHARN by Koon Thai is very blessed to have you. From start to finish, you made me feel like family, checked on me frequently, and just made me incredibly welcomed at the restaurant.
I stumbled upon AAHARN by Koon Thai after a massive craving for some Thai food, and let's just say, AAHARN delivered. They delivered hard.
The prices are a bit high, but you get an insanely generous portion. Plus, it's a Thai restaurant in Little Italy. I wasn't one bit surprised.
My favorite dish of the evening was the Galangal Coconut Broth. Best. Freaking. Soup. Ever. I enjoyed this more than my entree. I could have this soup for days, if not weeks. Well seasoned. Well cooked. The toppings and meat were all fresh. I'm legit salivating thinking about this. If you're looking for an addition to your meal, and don't want to settle for a cliche appetizer, I strongly encourage adding this dish to your order.
My entree of the evening was the Pad Thai Tiger Prawn. The noodles definitely reminded me of my time in Bangkok. Each ingredient was well-prepared, including the ground peanuts that had an alluring authentic taste and aroma. I was a bit so-so on the tiger prawns, as they were a tad bit smaller than I'm typically used to. They were also grilled, and you can smell the smoke and fumes in each and every bite. Again, I think it didn't add too much for me. Overall, the pad thai was decent, not the best I've had, but with the generous portions, I'd definitely consider ordering this again.
Thank you, AAHARN by Koon Thai for such a lovely evening. Y'all are a great addition to the Little Italy community, and I can't wait to try some of your Auntie Linh (or Lyn), I'll see you again soon! I'm already referring my friends to this place!
Was very happy with the service and food.
Seen many couples here but the accomodate familys as well. Service was excellent and the curry/avacado dish was perfect.
The portions are quite generous. One picture is the tofu salad. Very fresh/healthy.
Super tasty Thai food. Great location because you could grab a drink and sit outside. Will be back!
I’m super impressed with the food here. Had the Khao Soi and Chili Gyozas 🥟. The Khao Soi had a rich curry flavor with perfectly cooked vegetables and egg noodles. The chili gyozas had a tangy taste which was a nice contrast to a typical gyoza.
Highly recommend this place! I’m obsessed.
Loved it! Absolutely delicious with fantastic service. Nice patio with a large fire table and beer available next door to the restaurant. Pic show only the beer but the curry was wonderful. Spicy, so choose your spice level carefully.
Delicious! Such a great spot downtown. Honestly, no other Thai place comes close. They don’t have Pad Thai if that’s your thing, although their Koon Thai is just bomb.
Came in here so hungover, and I was craving a yellow curry to feel better, OMGGG this curry was so bomb!! So flavorful and tasted so fresh. The service was amazing, and I had a pleasant dining in experience. My waitress was also very attentive and refilled my water so many times. Def would come back.
Delicious food! You can order draft beer from a brewery next door and sit on the patio. Very cool place!
Aaharn was a good experience. The food was ok- even though I requested 5/10 spice level, the food turned out to be spicy.
The curries come with rice. Food tasty quite good.
The service is great as well, and they do make sure you are comfortable. Atmosphere is great, it's very quiet and a good place to hangout and talk.
The entrance is through the side, via tap room and the restrooms are one floor below, using the stairs.
