I had the taco pizza and when they had a store front downtown.
We got our food Togo (duh we're in a pandemic) however very tasty and fresh. I can only imagine what they would be like right when you bite into them the second you receive them. 10 or 10 will go back.

Good Tijuana style Mexican food. Limited menu, but no one was disappointed. Order chicken nachos and they were very good with large chunks of chicken. Worth a try if you are in the area.
The food here is great, the pastor meat is the best. The staff was extremely helpful and very personable. Their Famoso taco was delicious but just make sure to get enough napkins.
Really tasty authentic Mexican. Had the fish taco and shrimp taco. Both very good. Also the Cali Diablo Burrito is delicious!
The Cali Diablo burrito is single handedly, one of the greatest burritos I have ever had. The staff, Ales was so kind and welcoming and I will forever suggest that anyone coming to San Diego, visits this fine Mexican restaurant.
The street fries have been a long time favorite. I was really sad when they closed down for awhile. They are now back with bigger portions just as delicious as ever. :)
The queso taco and the carne asada fries are amazing. The Famoso taco was a little salty and greasy but everything else was so damn awesome I won't even drop a star. This place is amazing
Just visited last week from Phoenix, AZ, stopped by here after our visit to the SD Zoo and was pleasantly surprised. I was even with 3 somewhat picky-eating kids and they all loved it too. It was a great value considering the quality and size of the portions - we had a lot of leftovers. Customer service was great. The green & red sauces were both very flavorful and the hot red sauce packs a serious punch, which I was warned about, but I loved it so I still at a couple of them and enjoyed the burn and sniffles :)
The Tuesday Special $5 (3 signature Famoso tacos) they were so AMAZING! I had to order more! This a new weekly spot for sure. Affordable all days, and happy hour (3-6 Mon-Fri) and super friendly people. You will wait a bit for very, very hot and fresh food. Worth every penny and the wait! Beer and soft drinks served.
Perhaps some of the best pastor tacos you can ask for. Right price, perfect taste, fairly easy parking. What's not to love?
The pastor cuts are so good and fresh as you can see them cook and cut it before your eyes. They also slice a cut of pineapple on each pastor taco - a nice, different element. They also have the typical good sauces and condiments you can expect. We got 6 pastors for I think $8 or so.
Parking? The place is attached to a gas station. You can park on the street or people just park orderly on the side of the gas station. As long as you're not a dick, it's all good. The very best! Famoso Mexican Street Food is best.

Its SO good. And for the price you definitely get a lot to eat. Got the 2 gormet street taco combo with Al Pastor meat and it mightve been the best Ive ever had. The man who served us was so kind and even gave us free churros (not that that's to be expected, it was just so sweet). If I lived here I'm pretty sure I'd become a regular customer :)
The tacos here were delicious and full of flavor. I had the Al Pastor, Famoso, and Fish tacos and all three were distinctly delicious. The tortillas were fresh and hand made like my abuelita used to make when I was a kid. Top notch food with top notch service!
We had Famoso at our wedding on 3/18/2017 and it was freaking AWESOME. I cannot convey well into words how good the food was but I will make an attempt here. They make the tortillas on site which is extremely next level in my opinion. The sauces were delicious and actually one of them was really hot which we were stoked about, instead of trying to wash it down for the masses. The meats were on point, all cooked on site as well, and the service was top notch, super friendly people and really just trying to spread the love. It was a superior experience and totally reasonably priced. I will always have a place in my heart for these people and of course the food. If you are having and event, of any kind, at any time, and any place, you would be sincerely missing out by not including Famoso :) Love you guys thank you SO much for making our wedding extra special and delicious!!!
amazing food, had one of every taco and they were all great, service was almost instant, and after he freshly made the tacos he brought them straight to us outside. not to mention the man behind the counter had a smile on his face and was very kind. over all 10/10
Delicious!! I want more!! They have combos at a great price. I was full off the #3 and I still had rice and beans left. Tender chicken. Jucy tasting Carne and el pastor. Fresh salsa and practicing Cdc requirements. I will definitely be back
