The cold brew coffee was great, and a much welcomed alternative to Starbucks down the street. No major line to wait in.
I will say that the atmosphere was a bit blah. Environmentally could be a bit more intentional with the design. Food wise it was great though and worth the walk.
Cute Parisian cafe, definitely a must try! Fresh pastries all day, and a variety of other yummy things; the paninis and quiches are great! Staff is always friendly. I come here almost daily and highly recommend!
Chose this after reading previous reviews and what a gem of a find. Really wanted an almond croissant with my coffee and how lovely this was to find one. Great service as I wanted a decaffeinated coffee and the owner really went out of her way to make the style of my choice. Beautiful cups and plates really added to the French vibe. We visit France regularly and this little cafe definitely gave an authentic French feel. Enjoyed it so much we'll return again today on our last morning in San Diego.
My favorite coffee shop in San Diego. It really feels like locals come here and the prices are so reasonable and the quality is still strong. I usually get the matcha smoothie or PB&J smoothie. The pastries are hard to resist and I usually cave and order something sweet here.
Oh my goodness! This place has the most delicious pastries!! The egg sandwich on a croissant was amazing! Blueberry cheese croissant was amazing! Americano coffee was delicious! Staff were wonderful! Will be back! Oh, and we bought more pastries to go! 😋
I went to Cafe de l'Opera for brunch.
They close early, I didn't know. The lady at the counter said, we have 20 minutes, it's OK.
I took a cafe and a croisant with Egg with feta cheese and basil.
It was delicious.
The staff is very friendly and polite.
Food has alot of attention. You can also try their different types of bread or patisserie.
I lovely cosy Cafe.
As I couldn't find anything wrongbduring my visit I would give them a 5 star.
Definitely recommended.
I stopped by here for dessert. I had their cappucino with their lemon ricotta cupcake. I took an almond croissant home. Many places don't know how to make a croissant and keep the butter from burning out of it, therby losing the softness we all know and love in a croissant. This place did it right, and filled it will just the right amount of almond paste. Not too much or too little. It was dusted with powdered sugar and topped with almonds to make a neat presentation. The little bistro is just as you'd imagine, cute high top tables, some benches and a glass case full of French patisserie, brownies, and cookies. They have salads and bowls as well as breakfast. A cute little stop in Gaslamp near Petco park.
Friendly staff, cute and varied pastries, and the hot food (crepes, paninis, etc. ) is all high quality. Sometimes there's a short wait for the hot food, but not so much that you can't get your food on an hour lunch break and take it back with you.
They also have smoothies and coffee.
Charming cafe with great pastries. The staff was very friendly.
Lovely spot for breakfast. We went to the place across the street that was busy with the line out the door and the staff giggling at the register. We started back towards our hotel and saw a small menu sign and decided to walk in. The coffee was so good we bought beans to bring home. We had two ciabatta breakfast sandwiches and an almond croissant. It was all authentic and delicious. The restaurant serves on real plates reducing waste. I will definitely avoid the crowds at the other spots and come directly here next time.
Best croissants ever! Better than in France
:-). Food is delicious and coffee is really good. It’s very cozy inside and they are always so nice to me. Amazing food, service and ambiance.
Cafe de l'Opera has quickly become my go-to spot for delicious baked goods. With a heart full of satisfaction, I can confidently rate them 5 stars.

Moreover, the staff at Cafe de l'Opera is friendly, attentive, and passionate about their craft. They take the time to explain the different pastries on offer, making helpful recommendations based on your preferences. Their genuine enthusiasm for the culinary creations only adds to the overall experience.
The cafe itself is clean and well-maintained, reflecting a commitment to quality. Whether you choose to enjoy your treats in the cozy indoor seating area or opt for one of the outdoor seats, you'll find yourself in a welcoming environment that makes you want to linger with your laptop.
To top it all off, Cafe de l'Opera offers a "decent" latte to complement your baked goods.

I frequent this cute café for lunch during the workweek. Cute, cozy, nice views of the ballpark, and kind staff. I've tried many of the salads, sandwiches, paninis, and croissants. Everything is tasty with fresh ingredients. Definitely recommend supporting this small business!
Small little bakery with a nice selection of pastries; guava/cheese turnover was especially delicious. Nice little on-the-go spot.

Amazing croissants!!!! Cute cafe with incredible customer service (didn’t catch the lady’s name working the register but she was very sweet), quick service, and absolutely delicious food. I got the blueberry and cheese croissant and the butter croissant with egg, cheese, lamb sausage, and tomato…10/10!
