We have been to San Diego a few times and this is without a doubt our favorite part of town. There is always something going on and there are so many bars and restaurants that it will take you a few visits to really see and enjoy everything. There are places or all walks of life and choices. I would highly recommend staying at a hotel that is within walking distance because it will enhance your experience.

LOVE the Gaslamp Quarter 💕 the only thing i couldn't help but notice was the homelessness population was on every single street, freeway entrance, freeway exit, sidewalk, & gas station. I was glad to see at least they had tents to sleep in, but whomever provided those tents, couldn't they go one step further and provide permanent shelter??? We're all humans existing on this planet together, we have a rover on Mars, surely we can solve this issue?!

Stunning and beautiful place! Plenty of restaurants and bars. Although we went at 1:00 pm on a Wednesday and it looked like an apocalypse, everything was mostly empty and nobody in the street. Apart from that it is beautiful and the ghirardelli store has the best brownie!

Too crowded, a few places to park, there’s a lot of options to eat. Some places smell weird but overall is fine

Best place to stay if your visiting San Diego so alive so central so beautiful and is easy to visit every where else. This area is full of restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, bars, and residential areas. For your every need really. It’s a very nice area to stay

One of the best downtown bar spots in all of usa. Other great downtown bars locations as well but the san Diego weather is amazing. Bars are surrounded by universities, businesses, beach, etc. Definitely worth a place to spend a night or a weekend.

For the most park it is an amazing place with many great restaurants, bars and shops. However, as you travel farther north, away from the convention center, the area becomes a bit more grungy, with homeless people sleeping on sidewalks, harassing people eating in the outside parts of restaurants. Though, it is no where near as bad as Los Angeles or San Francisco, it is still a presence.
