If you like tea or believe yourself to be a tea connoisseur, then you should definitely head over to the Tea Gallerie. The owner is a nice guy who knows his tea. All teas sold are loose leaf. If you don't know if you'll like a tea, you can open the canister smell it or for $3 you can have a cup brewed in a french press on the spot. I had 2 cups the day I went and ended up buying bags of both. Great little spot for tea.
Honestly, Tea Gallerie was one of the best experiences I had in San Diego. Their tea is of the very highest quality and keeps you trying cup after cup as you sit and relax in the comfy chairs. Yet, it was my conversation with the knowledgeable staff and, especially, the owner which made this experience for me. Such wonderful, friendly people to match such delicious tea. Thank you all!
They always have a great selection of traditional loose teas. I hate to compare and bring them into it, but their tea quality and prices are way better than Teavana's. Im a big fan of oolong tea and they have a fairly decent selection, although last time i went I'll admit i didnt look at any other tea, I just grabbed the one i wanted (Champagne Ti Kuan Yin) bought it and and left.
Great selection of teas and a fair selection of infusers. If you are someone who has tired out teavanna and are looking for more teas of a higher caliber this place is great. It is located amongst a series of warehouses, because their primary focus is shipping teas.
Was recently introduced to this place by a friend and have returned over 5 times in the last two weeks.
Service here is friendly, knowledgable and make for great conversation when you are in the mood.
Tea from all over the world displayed for your olfactory pleasures and educational material posted you will learn and experience tea in a very inviting way here.
As a somewhat educated Tea drinker I can say that this place is great for drinkers of all experience from your first cup to custom and unique blends from places only known for the leaves they produce.
I really can't say enough great things about this place, check it out for yourself and see why I sound like I am about to write their next marketing campaign.
I can't imagine there's a better selection of fresh, quality teas anywhere - green, black, oolong, white, rooibos, herbal, they have it all. Not to mention, the prices are fantastic! $9/2oz may seem like a lot at first, but it comes out to maybe $.50 per cup in the end.
While I always forget his name, the owner is super-friendly, and he can (and will, given the chance) talk your ear off about the teas - making recommendations (this includes for kombucha teas), discussing how he decides which teas to buy, or bragging about working with breweries to make tea-based beer. I highly recommend sparing a couple minutes to glean some insight.
Finally, I've not had the time to sit down and relax in the actual shop, but it's an inviting atomosphere with plenty of seating and even a TV.
There are some many different flavors and types of tea there! Their employees are super kind and there is also like a lounge area. You can also buy a cup of tea and you can buy honey or a honey stick to go with it! 💙
Very nice, helpful people. Nice, clean store and teahouse for lovers of locally blended loose leaf tea.
I went looking for a tea they made for a specialty grocery store I used to go to. Although they didn't have it, they implied they could make it for me, but I didn't have that kind of time. Fortunately, they did help me in finding other teas. Most of them were good. I think the only one I was disappointed in was one of their chais (they have like 4 or more, but I only walked out with one). In their defense, I'm not a huge Chai tea fan, so it was like a failed experiment on my part. Still willing to give another one of theirs a try, though.
Also got a few tea making supplies there.
