It’s a nice place when eating around Lombard street. Reasonable pricing and overall great food. I didn’t necessarily love the food, it just satisfied me, it content me. Four formaggi ravioli wasn’t much of a four cheese filled pasta, but the tomato sauce was amazing. The margarita cheese pizza wasn’t strong in flavor, which it needs to have a good quality cheese or if not it’s quite bland. Food wise it’s a good 7 out of 10. Service was great and the best part goes to the bread 🌞🥖❤️🩹
Delicious Italian restaurant in the heart of North Beach. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were very generous and the prices were all reasonable. Coming from the NY/NJ area my standards are quite high for for good Italian food, and this place certainly exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the Veal Saltimbocca as an entree.
This is a great spot if you are craving for some great Italian food while in San Francisco. They have a lot of great options, the staff is very friendly and the ambience is great. I totally recommend.
Can highly recommend this place! Amazing food, great service, and nice atmosphere.
The starter was delicious and our pizzas and pasta excellent! Will definitely come back
Completely satisfying and wonderful experience... from the gentleman at the door, our server, and the bartender who refilled our teas. Thank you for a lovely last night in town.
Tasty italian food at a good price in San Francisco. During our stay we went almost everyday. The service is great and they treat you really well (our dog as well) 👌🏻
Good was served quickly.
The noodles were cooked very nicely and the sauce for each meal was very delicious.
Prosciutto with bruschetta cheese was very delicious also.
Note: They charge extra for olives.
Expect to be served authentic Italian food by friendly and attentive Italian-speaking staff. Despite the place bustling with patrons both inside and outside, we received patient, non-hurried service. Each dish my family of four ordered was among the best we've ever had, including my Pappardelle Al Ragu (pictured).
Atmosphere felt more like a takeout pizza joint - uncomfortable, squaty, red metal chairs, wooden tables, and gaudy wallpaper with the names of dishes. Not a big deal, but certainy did not match the food and price of the food.
Also, to wash my hands I had to walk through the back of the kitchen as I dodged staff and consciously avoided touching any ingredients that were out (that can't be good!)
Other options in Little Italy seem to do a better job of knowing who they are and aligning food with price and atmosphere. But in the end it's about the food and the service. Piccolo Forno excels with both.
This was such a cute little place! The staff was so friendly and attentive, which felt great since I went to eat by myself. I ordered the carbonara and it's definitely some of the best that I've had in the US (not as good as in Italy, but not bad by any means!). The only thing I found strange is that you need to walk through the kitchen to get to the restroom but I suppose that's the best they can do since it's a small space.
The men who seem to be the owners are nice and genuinely Italian. The place is warm and quite small which can be an indicator of home-made cuisine. But also a little noisy.
The service was a little long. Lasagnas are good, better than the carbonara that could use a little more meat. Overall it was good but not unforgettable. But the quality/price ratio is good, especially in comparison with the competitors.
We ate two different pizzas. Both of them were really delicious. I will probably visit again and try other dishes. 😋
Very good Italian restaurant in little Italy, recommended for families. If you want to try Italian cuisine go here! friendly and super trained staff. i will be back
Best Italian food ever! The service was good. The food was absolutely phenomenal, not sure I can ever have another pizza without longing for theirs. we got the margarita pinsa and the penne piccolo forno. The have both outdoor and indoor seating.
Stopped by for dinner and was immediately seated on the patio, it was super cozy with the heater even with the drizzly chill outside. The food was incredible and this was easily the BEST gnocchi dish I’ve ever had. I cannot recommend enough
Nice Italian restaurant in North Beach. Friendly service and good food. The spicy penne and lobster ravioli were delicious. Pizzas were also good but I preferred the pasta.
Inexpensive yet high quality place for authentic Italian food in North Beach. Friendly service with a smile, I appreciate how our server they went above and beyond to explain the menu and give insight into the dishes and how to best enjoy them. There was complementary bread too- a rarity in SF! Now on to the food.
The Greek salad - good smallish quantity, not too overwhelming and didn't scrimp on the greens and feta cheese!
Spaghetti al pomodoro- perfectly cooked al dente pasta with a tangy flavorful sauce. I prefer my meatballs a little meatier though - this one had some kind of extender to it, it wasn't bad but I was looking for a beefier taste.
All in all a great meat and experience. I would go back to try the pizza and dessert!
Had the ravioli with lobster & friend had some with butternut squash. Delicious and loved sitting outside with a view of the TransAmerica building. Meal was very reasonably priced and a mere 15 minute walk from the Wharf.
