Great choice of flavours, really friendly staff and reasonably priced enormo-scoops! My single scoop was just $3.50 and it was huge. There was a good range of cookies (if you prefer your scoop in a sandwich) and lots of toppings too. I chose the Caramel Cookie Dough which was full of delicious chunks of cookie dough. There are plenty of tables outside - perfect for people and busker watching!
Some of the very best ice cream I've ever had! Such a good selection if flavours, and set up in a beautiful area of San Francisco. Visited on the fly, and boy am I glad that I did!!! Would recommend to anyone at the port, visiting or otherwise. Delicious.
Good place to watch the local busking.
Friendly owner! Kind and warm. Ice cream made in gelato machine comes out thick and heavenly. Cookies had the perfect mix of crunch and softness...especially as a $1.50 upgrade "cone"
I was over the moon to see honey lavender ice cream! The nutty waffle is pretty great too :) I'm so glad we found this place.
The two times I went here I was happily welcomed and graciously helped when choosing which flavor of ice cream to get. Although both times were late at night, they kept this upbeat persona and showed no sign of annoyance. As for the ice cream, I don’t think I’ve ever eaten some so delicious. They have a variety of flavors to choose from, as well as cookies and shakes. I would highly recommend this place to anyone going to San Francisco.
Incredible ice cream. Great fresh cookies. Tasty cones. Fun flavors. Sub-par customer service.
One of my biggest pet peeves is feeling like a nuisance for asking for two or three samples before I decide which ice cream to spend $5-7 on. I'm a paying customer and when I choose an ice cream shop to go to on a special weekend day I appreciate those 3 minutes being attentive and stress free. On my last visit the employee seemed not only disgruntled by my desire to try the ice cream but also had a headphone in the entire time so I had to ask for things multiple times. It was annoying and the only thing keeping over the moon from a perfect rating.
That being said the product still stands on its own as some of the creamiest and fluffiest cream
I have ever tasted and I can't recommend it enough. The salted butterscotch is magic on a spoon and the cookies (especially the cookies and cream flavor) work really well with the intense sweet/salty profile
Amazing selection of flavours and love the super smooth creamy texture.
This is exceptional ice cream that is very different. Very creamy and almost whipped texture with a thick satisfying taste. The cookie bowl was dry and tasteless but I would recommend this to be something you have got to try coming to the area. It was relatively cheap and the most enjoyment I had with food in San Francisco. The service was just as good too, I and other patrons were happily greeted, fair recommendations were made, and I liked getting a metal tasting spoon.
As a tourist I would forget about spending money on nice food in the area and save it. Then come here and get your heart's greatest desires.
The service was top notch. I could try as many flavors as I liked and they had a wide selection! I went with one scoop ($3.50) of caramel cookie dough and it was G-O-O-D!! I also tried ginger, which I'll get next time if it's still there- They said they do frequently switch flavors though.. Keeps it exciting, I suppose.
If it wasn't for their A sign I would've easily walked past this little shop in the Embarcadero Center. It's $5 for a scoop of ice cream sandwiched between 2 soft, homemade cookies. I opted for the cookies and cream cookies and I was thoroughly pleased with my selection. I would go back just for that cookie. If you are afraid of making a mess, you can ask for a deconstructed ice cream sandwich! This way you can eat the ice cream in a cup and save the cookies for later.
The server was super friendly and helpful. Don't forget to get a stamp card!
I was craving ice cream one day and had never heard of Over the Moon before, so it was a pleasant surprise to find it on Yelp. It was really easy to get to - a short walk from BART/MUNI, right near the giant fountain along the Embarcadero. I ordered a scoop of mango coconut (mmm) with a cookies and cream cookie, based off the recommendation from one of the staff there (she was really friendly and was saying how the cookies and cream cookie was her favourite one there!). It's a small place with limited places to stand/sit; that being said, they offer a lot of flavours of ice cream, sorbet, and cookies. Besides, on a beautiful SF day, it's much nicer to take your treats to-go and walk along the waterfront or take a seat in the nearby park.
Everyone must try the cookie bowl - so amazingly delicious!
Small shop in Embarcadero Center with a good variety of ice cream and cookie flavors. I recommend the funfetti flavor, Oreo cookie (sugar cookie with Oreo bits) and any of the Oreo ice cream flavors. I’ll be back to try more flavors from their selection!
Easy to get to corner location outside the Embarcadero center, facing the Justin Herman Plaza and the ferry building. The ice cream is very good, I like how creamy it is. I prefer it over the Mitchell's ice cream. Limited choices but the ginger and vanilla combination we tried was a hit.
Really great selection of flavours! We came as a biggish group and the only server was actually very efficient and patient with us. The flavours I picked were as described! Peanut butter and jelly and the other was earl grey. Definitely recommended!
It may not be on the essential ice cream list for San Francisco, but I think this ice cream is some of the creamiest in the city, and the workers are very charming. And they make a mean cookie, too!
I am a real Italian man, born in Italy and I have eaten kilograms of ice-cream. Just tasting a small amount, you understand the real flavor of fruits and the portions are generous as in Italy. I will definitely come back!
Had the sweet potato soft serve and it was delicious! You get a complimentary small bouquet (while supplies last). The people there were so friendly and patient with our indecisiveness.
