Delicious but pricy! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks, but paid over $50 a head (including a drink and tip, no desserts). Service is fast and food came quick, atmosphere is great. Very nice place for a special occasion. Vegan options are delicious - Beyond meatballs that have been creatively flavored.
The hostess was rude. She was not prepared to open and made us wait outside in the cold and rain because it was time to open and she had not set up the entrance way properly. She was totally dismissive to us when we asked if we could enter after your open time. On a high note, the food was delicious. It is a bit pricey but the quality of the food is good.
Always the best experience here!
Staff super friendly and attentive.
Good consistently good and never disappoints. Great bar program going on now with fantastic cocktails!
I come in at least once a week!
I'm so glad they are still around. One of my all time favorite places. I no longer eat gluten but I still insist on taking my friends here for delicious pasta. The hand drawn menu is one of the little things that make Emmy's one - of-a-kind.
We ate too fast to get pictures of the food! They were all delicious: garlic bread, meatballs, linguine and orecchiette. We will be coming back!
Casual and artistic Italian restaurant on Mission in Bernal Heights. We ordered the pesto pasta and a marinara spaghetti with vegan meatballs. The food was tasty. Peak times have long waits (we waited over an hour on Friday night at around 8pm). Staff was super friendly and the restaurant has interesting decor and a fun vibe. Would recommend!
This place is great! It has everything! It's like the Farrell's of pasta!
Spaghetti! Drinks in glasses shaped like boots! A shack!
Everything! Whee! I love this place!
"If I ever had to eat San Francisco this place would be my first bite!" - Godzilla
Love, love this place. A recent menu addition and possibly a seasonal special -- is so good, it's somehow the food equivalent of a warm blanket on a cold day. Add a salad (or realistically, another pasta) and the garlic bread or the cauliflower mozzarella balls (!!!), and ENJOY.
Emmy's staff are always very kind. During the pandemic I've been calling to order, paying with cash, and tipping via the tip jar at the register. They still do the cash discount!
Been to Emmy's multiple times and keep coming back when I need a spaghetti and meatballs fix. They certainly know what they are doing here! Classic comfort food.
Everything about the place is SF Mission funky. Colors. The menu makes your eyes water. Music.
Good food and fun. Large family sized portions. Good service.
Music can be a little loud though.
Three star food in a funky atmosphere and friendly service bumping it up to four stars overall. The food is tasty, but doesn't seem significantly better than stuff I could make at home pretty easily (but I feel this way about most Italian places i eat at).
However, the place has funky décor, noteworthy artwork, and cool music playing, making for a good atmosphere. And the service is friendly and fun. So overall a nice spot for dinner.
Super friendly staff, quirky interior, and good food. My favorite dish is the Rasta pasta, and they always have delicious and creative cocktails
This place is very busy but good for families. If you go as soon as they open at 5pm, expect lots of families with small children eating early. I also appreciated that they serve zucchini noodles in a few of the dishes so if you're a diabetic, you have good choices. Also pinball machines and a photo booth in back to occupy time while you wait.
This was my FIRST time here and I LOOOOOOVED IT! I highly recommend and I will definitely be coming back. My cousin and I were craving Italian and it just so happens that she remembered coming here when she was in the 7th grade (she was about 12/13) and we are 26 now. So that was 10+ years ago but she remembered Emmy’s spaghetti. When we arrived we received a warm welcome greeting.
I expressed to our server and she asked if we had any questions about the menu and I was like no everything looks delicious. We ordered the Cheesy Garlic Bread, and Shrimp ceviche for our entree and OOOOOH MY CHEESY GARLIC LOL. EVERYTHING WAS SOOOO FRESH!! I have the smallest appetite and was determined to eat all my food.
We both ordered the spaghetti and WOW I LOVED IT! Everything was delicious, from the appetizers, entree, down to the Passion Smash Drink I ordered.
When the server came back I asked her name because I was to into my phone when she first introduced herself (I apologize for that) and it was Emmy! I told her I loved her restaurant and I thanked her for her business staying open all these years. I give this place a 10/10 everyone was friendly, food was delicious, and overall the place had a beautiful and vibrant vibe. I’m writing this review in the restaurant during closing and can say down to closing the food is exceptional. Thank you Emmy!!
Always great food! I’ve been a fan since they started in that tiny space on Virginia St. Eclectic atmosphere...they have a lot of Dolly Parton memorabilia including a pinball machine..for a fanboy such as myself, this is a true gem! The only downside is that the last few times we have been in there seems to be a lot of children in large groups running around the restaurant. So, it’s turned into a pseudo-Chuck E Cheese. (And no, this isn’t on Tuesday’s kids eat free night either) so, if you’re looking for a grownup out to dinner experience, you might be disappointed.
1st time here the other day. Absolutely loved it! Creative and delicious drinks with a great atmosphere. Service was on point, and so was the food! Emma's is a great little gem! And Emmy herself is such a bright and welcoming soul. We really enjoyed our experience there all the way around! Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
