The sushi roles are thoughtfully designed. I could say it was pretty reasonable for something in the Marina and the fish was fresh as well. Come during happy hour to enjoy good sake and a few rolls. Also, the back room of the restaurant is good for big parties and the waiters are nice.

Great neighborhood sushi place. Usually calm with friendly wait staff. Food can be a bit hit or miss, but today it was excellent! Both the cold sushi items and hot appetizers were great. We go at least once a month with the whole family - very kid friendly! Daily happy hour from 430 to 630pm is a great deal for a huge portion of their menu.

Their menu during happy hour is extensive, so that was nice. Good price and good selection make for a happy sushi eater. The fish was pretty fresh also, not the old stuff you get at some sushi places' HH. Wasn't crowded at all when I went, so unless it was an off day, getting a seat shouldn't be a problem since they have a back seating area also. I'll come back if I'm ever in the Marina and craving sushi.

The pricing here is great for what you get! It'd be a good spot for hanging with some friends on the weekend or a sushi date. We stopped in because it was recommended by some locals and we weren't disappointed at all. Ate lots of fried Calamari and it was super tasty. They could do a better job of not so cheap decor, and it was really dark, but it was alright. The best part was the lady who waited on us was super helpful, patient and friendly! Pleased with the experience!

The sushi go-to place on Chestnut. Not because it has super good ambiance. Not because it has a creative original menu. Not because it is cheap, or because it is upscale. But because it has consistently above average fish and food quality all day everyday. If you can catch the happy hour, even better.

Good sushi and excellent happy hour deals. Their spicy tuna is the minced up kind, but salmon avocado, eel, and everything else were good, especially for the price. Service was good.

I went here for happy hour with my roommate before we went off to our respective events. The happy hour menu is an extensive one compared to other menus I've seen at sushi restaurants. And the prices were really good too. I ordered the crunchy cannon roll, which was $6 (normally $8). It was really delicious! It was fried to perfection, and the honey mustard and unagi glaze gave it sweetness. I can predict that some people might find this signature roll too sweet, but I enjoyed it. What I also like was that they didn't skimp on the portion. I got about 10 pieces, which didn't make me full, especially since I also ordered ahi poke. Which, btw, was also very good. It came with wontons, and added a salty flavor to this acidic dish. The atmosphere is dark, and it can get loud inside. The wait staff are really friendly and are happy to answer any questions you have. I would definitely come back here and take advantage of their happy hour menu. You get the best of what they offer at a good price, especially for the Marina.

I love this place. When my other Chestnut favorites are packed, this place always has spots to accommodate you without wait. Food is pretty decent too, lots of kid-friendly choices.

In town visiting family and needed a sushi fix. Rolls were excellent, firecracker tuna was ok. Miso soup was great at $2. Had a small glass of unfiltered saki, very good.

So many inventive rolls that were all so tasty. My husband and I came here for a date night after I returned from a month abroad and it was so wonderful. I'm glad this was the first sushi I had after coming home!

Food is great the dining area is loud as there is no way to absorb sound...otherwise would have been 5 stars ....

I have to give this place 4+ stars because The food is always great and I love their happy hour but sometimes it gets a little too busy and the service is not quite the same but I can tell they still try to please the customers so I can tell they go far and beyond for us every time we go except for one time I had a bad experience but I've been there about 10 times or so and only had one bad experience once so for the most part I still give this place 4 plus stars.

This is one of the, if not the, best sushi in SF. The chefs, the fish, and the service are always top notch! Also, very affordable. I definitely recommend.
