The Dosa Brothers picks up one of the most famous Indian Street Snacks and makes it available on Market Street San Francisco. Just for doing this, I offer my Love and Gratitude to the Brothers! The service is blazing fast, and the staff is cool! On to the Dosas themselves, ai had the Mix Dosa, which mixes the Aloo (Potato) serving with the Paneer (Cheese) serving, insider the Dosa bread. I would rate the overall Dosa as 3/5, or maybe lesser, compared to eating an authentic Dosa in a nice Indian place. But to be offered this as a snack, as you walk hungrily through Market Street, the Dosa hits the spot and does what it does - offers flavor and spice, and fills you up!
I don’t like spicy 🌶 food, but this is a nice place. The dosa with milk cheese is not spicy at all. It’s 500+ calories and 20+g protein - great numbers for a vegetarian meal! It costs $13, which is pricey for a street food. But it tastes very nice. I will come again.
The cashier lady is friendly and nice too.
Good taste , quality and quantity. They were quite to make dosas. Very clean and hygienic.
It's not like indian dosa... But not a bad dosa...it's tasty and variety.
You won't be disappointed.
$12 mixed dosa, we had and it was nice , when served hot.
Amazing. Loved the taste. Went there for the first time and bought Masala Dosa. It was just lovely. Nice Dosa, Nice filling, nice addition of spring mix, Nice chutney. It was perfect quantity for me. The service was fast and friendly. I wish it was closer to the Rincon center.
Great place for a modern twist on a classic South Indian dish - the dosa
Super filling and low calorie. After one dosa, I was stuffed. There's 3 main types and you have other options, too. It's a limited menu but they do everything well. The crew is very friendly and they don't make you wait long at all.
Nice and simple Dosa..tasty...they have spicy sauce as well to make it more interesting if you are Indian and like it that way.. I feel the price is bit expensive for Dosa :) otherwise they should offer free glass of water. If you are around Montgomery then do try it..
Dosa Brothers is a lunch-time food truck chain that dishes out Indian rice pancakes with vegetarian toppings: paneer (cottage cheese, $13), potato (traditional breakfast in Southern India, also called as 'masala' dosa $10) or a mix dosa (this is the best deal, $2 less at $11 and gives you a taste of both paneer and potato). You can also top it off with spring salad mix (makes it healthier and tastes decent, $1 for topping). They serve it along-side coconut chutney (may have cilantro, check if you have dishwasher mouth).
I am docking one star for the price. If they can get the price down to $10 (before-tip) that would make it 5 star worthy.
You can order online, or stand in a line (like I did), and got my order ready in around 10 minutes. I saw others also get Mango Lassi ($4) and Ginger Chai ($3). They also serve a healthy Indian lentil porridge-like gruel (usually delicious, I did not get to try it), called Kitch-e-ree ($7).
Friendly staff. They seemed happy to be there and provide recommendations. Dosa was delicious, albeit slightly expensive compared to other lunch options.
Note: I tried the location at the intersection of Montgomery and Market Streets (steps away from Montgomery Bart).
Tip: Order online and avoid the line. Ask for extra chutney ($1) it's better than the free Sriracha.
Best place to get your quick lunch fix. They have amazing dosas and also khichdi which is a super healthy indian comfort food with proteins and veggies. Its also very flavorful. And you can order on their website for pickup.
My go to place when I want a quick khitcheree healthy vegetarian meal.
I am a dosa junkie, so I know a good dosa when I see one. Dosa brothers served some nice fresh dosa, and the masala inside was yum too! I was watching them make it, and mortified to see them put some kind of ranch dressing on my masala :D But it surprisingly tasted good :) So don't go expecting the traditional dosa with sambar and pudi. Overall a quick, hearty Indian meal
Great dosa! The masala is authentic, but if you are hungry, get the paneer. Really like the crunchy spring mix option.
Long waits at around lunch time, but you can order online and pick up to avoid the lines.
Nice food cart right on top of the Montgomery BART station. It's a completely vegetarian place and their dosas are very well made. There is no place to sit around the cart but there are rooftops with public Access in the Wells Fargo building across the street. The price is on the higher side for the quantity but it surely has the novelty factor element.
Surprised to discover this during lunch. Surprisingly good, (I make South Indian dosas at home), so I'd ordered with zero expectation. Their coconut chutney was amazing. Will go again.

Exceptional dosa in a street food kind of setting! Extremely quick service and the dosas are just amazing as well. They have masala, paneer and a mix variety. I will definitely recommend this place if you come near this place to give this a try. The masala chai was ok!
The chef is a genius. Very rarely you come across an idea so brilliant these days. 2 set of dishes - Dosas and Khichdi. Take your pick. I tried all the 3 varieties of dosas. Minus any add ons (no spring mix - that's altering the original dish). Simply amazing. Flavors are spot on.
Same goes for the khichdi. Traditional dish is a little more soupy. But I loved the thick consistency.
Don't have enough words to add. I wish something like this was in the North East - even if not a food truck. But great job guys. Keep up the good work!
