We wanted to go for a Mexican restaurant and bar for dinner and Margaritas. So we decided to go to Mango on this beautiful and picturesque pier 39.
Mangos is a rustic and authentic Mexican Restaurant. It is located inside pier 39 on Fishermen's Wharf.Beautuful location, very touristy,it can get crowded a bit.
I had the jalapeño mango Margarita and my hubby had a local SFO beer.It was great. We had nachos with mango Gucamole and salsa,it was good.We had veggie Fajitas and enchiladas. It was ok,nothing great.
The service was fast and good. The pricing was decent. The food tasted good. The Margarita was awesome. The location is beautiful. We had a great time.
Pastorwife and Co. have no clue...Mango's was amazing...get the pastor or carnitas tacos, you will not be disappointed!
Also the Queso Fundido is great, their salsa could use a little more heat, but tastes great!
I would maybe skip the refried beans, they were a little bland, but not the worst by any means.
Carlos, our waiter, was super pleasant, and the other waiters took time to check on us, too...service was top notch. We asked for a little space to relax, and we got it! So yeah, it's a bit pricey, but worthwhile.
I would definitely come back, great food and service!!
Decent Mexican place right on the pier with outdoor seating and good views of the Bay. Recommend their mango guacamole which combines sweet mangoes with savory avocados for a unique flavor!
My wife’s best friend was visiting from Hawaii and we wanted to eat at Bubba Gump, but the wait it was unfortunately too long (Sunday, very crowded). We then stumbled across this Taqueria. We walked inside, asked about a wait time, they said 15 min. We decided to get a drink from the bar while we waited, and we got lucky that a couple people were leaving so we decided to sit at the bar and eat.
Ariel, the bartender, helped us immediately and got us a couple beers before we could even sit down, he suggested a few mixed drinks and was so nice and very informative. I told him that I hadn’t had a mixed drink made so well in a long time since most of the time they’re way too sweet, but the one he made was in a small bowl and tasted so good and smooth, it could be dangerous lol.
Our friend from Hawaii asked about flautas, Ariel said that they don’t make those there, but he said let me see what the chef can do. He came right back and said the chef would be glad to make them for her, and they were so freaking delicious.
I told Ariel I would do this review because we were pleasantly surprised with the food, the service, and the ambiance. I’ve worked in the service industry, so when I see people actually do a good/great job, it doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thanks ARIEL! Kudos to you!
One of pier 39 little gems. Happening little spot, indoor and outdoor sitting. Great views, goodvibes and quality service. Good prices menu. You definitely get your money's worth. Must place to stop at to eat & drink.
The place has a very nice view on the bay. I recommend coming to SF the last week of September first week of October. Shrimp was great and meat was a bit hard. We had no waiting in the line!
