Came here for a nice quiet lunch despite the loudness of the farmers market outside. Street parking around this time is always difficult. We had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was strong. Lemongrass pork chop was moist and also had good char. Special pho was good. Broth still felt clean.
This is my favorite place to go for pho in SF. The food is authentic and so good - my wife says it's as good as anything she had when she was in Vietnam. I always get the lemongrass beef pho and my wife gets the combo pho, but we've tried a lot on the menu and it's all been great. The staff is very friendly and remembers us each time we come in. The restaurant itself is a little outdated and very quiet (no music or anything playing inside) but the food and service easily make up for it. I always recommend this place to friends looking for good pho in SF.
Pho is super authentic and fragrant. Really nice owners as well. I will come back often!
This was a good experience in SF. The service was so friendly I could have thought I was having lunch at Grandma's. The food itself was unmistakably fresh and cared for. I can't wait to come back here.
*NOT CLOSED THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE UPDATING*
This place is basically a second home to me. Comfortable food, and even a more comfortable atmosphere created by the workers. For years I’ve been coming here and hopefully for years I will continue!
No frills, good prices, and the best beef brisket pho I’ve ever had. The lemongrass bbq short rib over cold rice noodles was so so so so good.
I cannot give this restaurant a high enough review, 5 is an understatement!
The pho is one of the best in the cities (check out the curry noodle soup). Even after moving two hours away I will frequently stop in and buy mass quantities of pho to bring home and eat for the week. On top of amazing food the people here are divine and are some of the sweetest individuals I’ve met in my years of living in San Francisco. This place feels like home after awhile!
I really like the pho here (esp the chicken pho). The portion is huge even for a small bowl and they give you breast meat. The people who run the restaurant are extremely friendly. Parking though can be a little painful especially on the weekends but so worth it.
Family run authentic Vietnamese cuisine, small cozy place where you will be treated with so much kindness and great food :)
Only thing, you have to clearly mention them your allergies before ordering!
It’s a good place. It’s really clean. Food is amazing! 10/10 reccomend.
The food is absolutely delicious and the owners are lovely caring people. Great vibes, I felt like i had a home cooked meal. Highly recommend and we will go back here as often as we can!
Mai's is a friendly, delicious spot for pho and other Vietnamese food classics. The broth of the pho was some of the best I had and the service was incredible! Very friendly and hospitable 😃
Just came in here for my first dining-in experience since the pandemic started, and it was excellent!! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful, the waitress was very eager to help out and make sure we had everything we needed. I don’t live in San Francisco, but my family has eaten here before and we still love it!
The best in town! I've been going to Mai's for over 15 years and have always had a great experience. The food is consistently delicious; the couple who own and work there are warm, friendly, and attentive.
So happy to have Mai's in SF!
The best I've ever had. I bring friends there just for that soup. I've heard slurps, moans of joy, seen eyes roll back. This soup is amazing. If you like ginger, you cannot miss this.
Mai's would get a 5 if not for the "interesting" hospitality. It's a mom and pop shop and the owners are fabulous. Always smiling, taking care of you, but there are just some odd things about them. Maybe one of them is that she smiles all the time.
They kick me and a friend out at closing time and we were just finishing up our meal. We had to slurp it all down pretty quick. If you go, go well before closing. You'll have a wonderful time.
A neighborhood mainstay that has been serving some of the best Vietnamese food in the city for decades. Definitely a comfort food spot.
