Wow, I have been eating sushi for 35 years and this is the third place where I was ever truly surprised and delighted. While I am not a real officionado I can say for certain that all the boxes got a check mark. Food, atmosphere, and staff were not just wonderful but really a cut above my expectations. I’ve never had makerel that was so mild but still flavorful. We had a type of poke salad with mixed fish and mixed greens and pickled veg that was fantastic. The atmosphere, the ambiance, the art, the lighting, the architecture is pretty darn cool as somebody found a way to integrate the dated and rustic concrete building which was likely a auto garage or something back in the day, with a sweet room modern vibe. The caterpillar roll looked like a damn caterpillar and the dynamite roll was the best I’ve had. I hope I’m not being dramatic. My sushi experiences range from Monterey, Seaside, Marin, SF, Santa Cruz, and Portland. Never been to Japan but after this sushi I ran home and started to research trips to Japan as I was inspired.
Don’t let the name for you. This place has high level, incredibly flavorful sushi I highly recommend the Omakase plate with A5 Wagyu beef. Great service very attentive. Perfectly prepared and served. Don’t miss out on a great experience if you’re in SF.
Truly a hidden gem - amazing, amazing food, kind staff and honestly it’s just really beautifully decorated! This is our favorite place to take friends and quickly became a go-to.
I had an exceptional ramen experience at Eat Sushi Restaurant . The Ramen broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked to perfection, The presentation was simple yet appetizing, and the friendly service added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommended!
Cute sushi place. When i entered off a quiet street in SF I felt like i was walking into a speak-easy…a secret off the beaten path kind of place.
5/5 Fresh tasty sushi. we enjoyed the The Sunflower roll was our favorite. Our first time trying mango in a sushi roll!
5/5 Good menu
4/5 Good ambiance. Quiet though as we had an early reservation.
5/5 Good service.
5/5 Safe easy street parking. Thats something to say these days for San Francisco
Don't let the non-descript facade fool you - this place is a first-class Japanese eatery! Garlic prawns, 49ers sushi, and tempura were AWESOME! Very friendly service and a nicer interior than the street view would lead you to believe. Highly recommend.
Tasty sushi. Cute warehouse vibe. Fun decor. The food service was a little slow for not being so busy, but that made it nice to savor the flavor of each roll as it came out.
We booked for arrival 30 min before closing listed at a rather early 9:15pm. The service was impersonal and rushed, not paying much attention to our order. The manager was up a ladder trying to change light bulbs, and sparks were flying every time he tried to remove the bulbs..
Great food, but not in a comfortable environment.
I came here for dinner before a show in the area and it did not disappoint! All the sushi was extremely fresh and delicious, and the service was great too. We were the only ones in the restaurant which really surprised me since it was so good! I highly recommend the Folsom Roll and the Dragon Roll.
I feel that Eat Sushi puts a little extra effort into everything they do, and it shows. The sushi is well prepared for the price point. The side dishes are fresh. Things like a hand-drawn smily face on the take out bag and a flower in the box are appreciated. Once or twice I've received a free miso soup if the wait is long. Thanks!
LOVE SUSHI! this place is amazing, waiting the stuff is incredible their attention to detail is unmatched. Also their sushi is very good sashimi, sushi rolls, tempura, miso soup, whatever tour choice is you will jot be dissapointed.
We came twice in our trip in SF!
Everything you are waiting for when entering a japanese restaurant. The wasabi and ginger were so fresh. Everything is so good. We recommand super dynamite rolls and spicy tuna California.
You need to open a restaurant in Tahiti where we live!
And they were nice despite our bad English
I don't say this very often but this is some of the best sushi Ive had in my entire life. Service was excellent our waitresses were smiling and kind and sweet also somehow always seemed to be there with more water and tea. The food is phenomenal with amazing flavors and fish that is fresh and absolutely delicious. First time I've ever seen mango in a sushi roll and I was very pleased! What was even better was the price being so reasonable! I could rant and rave about this place for a hot minute so let me wrap it up by saying from the unassuming exterior to the beautiful interior and amazing food I was VERY happy with my meal.
Absolutely love this sushi place! Whenever friends come to San Francisco, it's my top recommendation!
Pleasantly surprised by the food here. The chef did get a bit annoyed at me when I plugged my phone in next to him but I'm going to overlook that. Good service, good food, reasonable value.
Ordering food delivery is very expensive esp with has high fees but I’d say this was worth it. The sushi, ramen, and takoyaki we ordered were very delicious! Id order from here again.
A quaint sushi spot that has a number of sushi rolls. I think the price is a bit steep for sushi rolls, but their service was great - they served us with a bowl of edamame on the house✨
Really good ramen, nigiri, sashimi, and rolls. Also great service. This will become a go to for our Friday night dinners.
