This place is amazing. Note: this restaurant doesn't sell all the complicated rolls with 4+ ingredients. The beauty of this restaurant is that they do simplicity and they do it extremely well. The fish is extremely fresh and absolutely worth the price. The sushi rice on its own is a home run, but goes perfectly with any of the nigiri or rolls. The chef knows what he's doing. Try this place and be amazed.
Best sushi in the Bay area. Delicious cuts of fish. Simple, straightforward menu that clearly emphasizes fish and flavor over silly ingredients and pomp. The staff was super friendly. The restaurant is clean. Jazz music was playing.
I loved every aspect of my meal.
Anyone who rates less than 5 stars is literally the dumbest person in the world. Everything at this gem is exquisite quality down to the absolute microscopic detail. Everything I ordered melted in my mouth: literally the best sushi I've ever had in my life. I never knew the bay area could provide an authentic sushi experience until now because nothing else compares. The chef is a true artist of the trade, a genuine craftsman as what he does. Even the sushi rice itself is impeccable. Remarkable experience.
One of my most favorite sushi restaurants in SF!!!
The real deal. A better omakase you will not find, minus the pretentiousness and amateur crowd. I recently tried this place out, as it was new in my neighborhood and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's the old matter from Fuku sushi from back in the day before it became Mugizo udon shop in Jtown. His selection is still spot on - we ordered the 9 piece chef's choice and got the crowd pleasers like o-toro and uni, but also some surprises like shiromaguro (belly cut!) and engawa.
The space is small, pretty austere - nice lines and geometric surfaces like any good sushiya but it's not stuffy or off-putting by any stretch. I came in with my wife and 5 year old and we were genuinely welcomed, no wrinkled noses or weirdness about bringing a kid. That said, I'm not going so far as to say it's kid friendly - just that it's not kid unfriendly. My kid loves sushi and knows what he likes so that helps; it's probably not the place to go if they are trying sushi for the first time. Anyway, can't wait to go again. Really great sushi, nice atmosphere, and for outer Richmond folk - another top notch sushi place in our neighborhood!

First and foremost great quality and setting. Second thing was how polite and helpful service was. Unfortunately for my taste I would've liked to see a few more basic rolls like a tempura roll but all and all it was good but also expensive! Would I go back probably not but I'd recommend it to those I know that like this style of Japanese, quality dining.
It's a hidden pearl for all the serious sushi loving San Franciscans, ----the second best choice to have real authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi, only after Jiro sushi in Ginza.
Please keep in mind that it will take you 10 hours to fly to Narita airport, Tokyo, and one hour to Ginza from Narita by train. Besides, the Jiro San's sushi is by no means cheap, if you are lucky enough to get on the waiting list.
