Wonderful Jalisco style food. Try the enchiladas Suizas. (the best chicken I ever had), and the Camarones ala Diabla if you aren't a wimp. The chevelas are so good they will only serve you 2 per seating. They need a bar badly to ease the waiting for a table. For now, drinks can only be had at a dinner table. All 3 locs. are similar, but I would have to give the edge to Lincoln Ave. for the food
This hard-to-find, dark, crowded taqueria serves some of the best burritos I've had in the Bay. And to top it, they have some really generous quantities of excellent chavelas to down those big burritos.
The service is horrible here. You've literally got to beg the serving staff for attention. At one point, one of my friends (who's a regular) walked in to the kitchen to get a plate of nachos refill.
Slow service, but who cares when you've got amazing food and drinks the size if your head? It's all about the super chavelas. My honey and I always come for dinner while in San Jose.
Great food, super busy restaurant style seatIng, prices are great - but service not so much....I guess the food Is worth the attitude, at leasr for us.
Taqueria Tlaquepaque (Mexican). Tlaquepaque is popular, no doubt. So much so, in fact, that it may be quite to find a seat. It has nice decorations, with dangling stained glass light fixtures and walls adorned with beautiful Mexican artwork. Otherwise, though, Tlaquepaque isn't high on my favorites list. The food is often dry and under seasoned. With that said, it must also be noted that the food is far from inedible. Their Machaca is delicious, and the rice and beans are exceptional. All things considered, it's not a bad idea giving it a try.

Service with attitude. I have been to all three Tlaquepaque locations. I was excited about the Super Chavella. I had heard that the staff was a bit sensitive and I didn't notice until the my last visit to the hole in the wall on Curtner. That location did not offer the Super Chavella, only the Chavella, which does not have tequila. It was at that visit that I realized that they have rules, and by not placing my order in a timely fashion, I seemed to have offended the waitress and was ignored for about 20 minutes.
Their food is great and the Super Chavellas are awesome. Just be prepared for nazi-like service.
Love the food, but it's always packed, especially the weekend.
I used to come here a lot on my mid 20's and coming back now in my late 30's with my family was nice. My wife tried her first ever "super chavela" and it was a hit, the food was on point, the salsa the provided with the chips was nice and spicy. (I like it hot) My two older boys eat there burritos in about 3 minutes flat, and even my toddler ate most of his food, very rare that happens. I would have given a 5 star rating, but when we walked in we were ignored for about 7 minutes and then we're rudely asked to sign the sign in sheet at the hostess stand where nobody was standing. Also, our waitress kept disappearing for quite some time in between checking on our table. All and all a good experience overall. I'll be coming back again.
This place is authentic mexican food even your momma would like cause I took my mom and she loves this place now...
This restaurant has been a local favorite for years. My absolute favorite thing to order here is the Carne Asada Wet Burrito. Hands down the best ever!! I highly recommend this dish! You can't go wrong with anything you order.
The best place locally hands down. So good, great prices, drinks are perfect!
Pictured are the super michelada, enchiladas Verde with cheese, and the 2 beef enchiladas. Order was taken quickly on a Sunday evening. The salsa was tasty and the chips were crisp. We also ordered sangria that wasn't pictured but also delicious. The food was great overall and I look forward to coming back.
Walked in and right away got seated. Medium busy. I came for a burrito after reading some reviews but on seeing the menu realized I would have the enchiladas Mexicanas. That is my usual go to for sit down places. They came quick and I dug in. They were great. I dont normally eat the dryer type, as most of my childhood was about the super saucy enchiladas, but they were delicious none the less. 3 enchiladas plate con rice and beans was very reasonable. paid a bit over 17.

First time eating at this restaurant, drove in from Bakersfield for a concert and my uncle recommended I eat here and I’ll tell you it didn’t disappoint one bit, Service is ok but understandably so for a busy establishment. I ordered a michelada to drink and carne en su jugo for dinner. The michelada was one of the better micheladas I’ve had, it was flavorful, the tomato juice did not over powering the beer and it had a nice hint of spice. The carne en su jugo was delicious, the slices of meat were tender, the sauce was savory and spicy. My date had the Chile Colorado, which in itself should be in a different category! This place is authentic and taste like food straight out of my grandmas kitchen. I have found my go to spot when visiting family in San Jose!
The place has a casual setup, good for families and groups. We went there at 8:30 and it was still extremely busy, we were lucky to get a table soon enough. We started with Micheladas, one of the Beer cocktails, which I absolutely loved. We then ordered chimichangas, chicken nachos, carnitas and enchiladas. Everything tasted amazing, and the spicy sauce on the side just made everything fabulous. The quantity was good, enough for us to share. For desserts, we ordered the flan, which again was delicous. The service at the place was up to the mark, they kept on refilling the chips and salsa, which was bomb😍 This place has now become my go to joint for Mexican food.
Reliable neighborhood Mexican restaurant with consistently good food and awesome chavelas. The staff is nice and friendly although when they get busy, service can be slow
great mexican food of all kinds. awesome burrito bar but also soup caldo and many other dishes.
Great, delicious Mexican food. Took a while to get seated and the waiter forgot about us. However, the good food makes up for the sub par service. Note: We visited on a Wednesday at 6pm. Not sure if they are short staffed or just abnormally busy. That plate was 12.50$
Busy Friday crowd at 8 PM. Forced to place name on waiting list. No worries as I notice a lady with a Sergio Ramos jersey leaving the bar. Luckily, I’m dining alone and quickly claim the newly open bar area. Politely captured a friendly employee’s attention and consume hot chips and spicy, delicious salsa within seconds of sitting down.
Ordered the Torta de milanesa, Tacos al pastor y Carne Asada Quesadillas.
The tacos were delicious. The quesadillas the same. However, the Torta? Wow. Could be one of the top 5 Tortas of all time. Incredibly crunchy, warm and crispy bread, and mouthwatering on every bite.
All food was hot in temperature as it should be. The salsas were delicious and pack a punch, as they should.
I’ve been coming here for 20 years. We love the salsa and tacos.
