Awesome Awesome Awesome, Food was on point. Bread good, Popeye Pizza-delicious, crispy crust, good char, salads were perfect size and flavorful, beets were huge..gelato was perfect, espresso perfect. Macon, our server, was attentive, friendly, funny, but not obtrusive. Don’t even get me started on the charm of the patio, thought I was back in Italy. Well done guys!!!
What a beautiful place. The atmosphere of the building decor so heartwarming and rustic. The staff is amazing. A Boss bartender that waited on us before dinner. FOOD absolutely DELICIOUS, fresh SLO and nearby farms grown. Fantastic place. A diffinet add to our fave places to eat list.
Happy, helpful, inviting staff! Outstanding hospitality and the cuisine is on point! Fresh local ingredients and preparation is very professional! We have become regulars sworn to a great meal, super vibe and affordable! Try a gelato sampler no matter how full you may feel! Takes you back to Florence in just one tasty minute!
The food was to die for - absolutely delicious from the appetizer to the dessert! The ambiance was warm and friendly. The hostess, waiters and servers were all up beat, smiling and truthfully - fun! It was a great night and we will definitely dine in again.

It is an awesome place there chicken picatta is to die for
The service was excellent, the food was superb and priced reasonably. All in all a great dinning experience.
Awesome food, beautiful and fun atmosphere!
Wish I lived closer.. it would definitely be my go to place..
We had our dogs with us, the restaurant offers a back patio for them to be included, the entrance is through the alley next to the restaurant. They had a waiting time of 20 min when we arrived. The restaurant is gorgeous, clean and organized, they have a variety in their menu and they also offer over the counter desserts and to-go food. My food was delicious, I had a Giuseppe instalata with grilled chicken breast. I want to go back everyday for their meals. The calamari shrimp appetizer needs a little bit of improvement but I was too focused on my plate I didn’t affect my experience. Service was amazing, very patient and thorough. I was so focus in enjoying the place and everything surrounding me that only remembered to take pics of the food, missed the chicken grilled thou. I recommend trying this place at least once and make up your mind if it’s worth trying it again. I for one must come back for their dinner menu, I had their lunch menu. And I obviously have to try their pizza. Once I visit the restaurant again I’ll update the post.
Excellent food! Superb service! Exquisite wine select! I can go on and on and on.
What a gem of a place in the middle of San Luis Obispo. The atmosphere was festive and our visit was in the middle of the week at 2 pm. To me, that's a good sign when you can walk in on a Wednesday, and it feels like the weekend. Highly recommend you stop in during your next visit to SLO.
One of the best experiences to be had in SLO. I waited 2 hours to be seated for dinner on a Friday night but it was well worth it. The patio seating in the back is truly a magical place. Our server was wonderful, so jovial and took great care of us. The food was a little bit on the saltier side but that may be just me preferring things more on the bland side. They make their bread, pasta, sauce, desserts all in house and I could tell. The pasta was so fresh and chewy and the bread before the meal was quite tasty. I would recommend the octopus appetizer from the things that we ordered. They also have a great local wine selection so make sure to order a bottle for the table. Overall a wonderful dining experience, highly recommend a visit when in SLO.
We truly love visiting Giuseppe’s whenever we are in town. They do not take reservations and this place is POPULAR. You have to get there early if you don’t want to wait 2 hours. But the wait is worth it. The food is phenomenal and the service has always been really great. We had a mishap this last time we went. Waited 2 hours when they told us it would be 30 minutes. They took our name and number down and said they called our number at around 30 minutes past our original quote, but there was no call. We checked in frequently too. They were able to seat us at least, but just be mindful of that. Check in with the host frequently.
I read up on this place as one of the best dinner spots in SLO and that it's been here for more than 30 years. After an hour wait (watch out no reservations unless you're a very large party), we were seated in a charming patio area between the 2 buildings. Great service from Aubrey and the sweet fellow who was assisting her. The food was quite good. The zucchini flowers were nice and crisp but a outlying heavy on the mozzarella, my husband was okay with the spaghetti and meatballs (good marinara but wagyu meatballs were a bit dry); however, my linguine and clams (or vongole) was to die for. Huge local clams, fresh made linguine, lovely amount of white wine sauce with garlic, parsley, lemon, wine and chili flakes. I even think extra clams were added to the sauce. The coconut & lemon cake was a creative idea and tasty. Overall a fun experience!
Great ambience, cozy. Love the appetizers. The main dishes were a bit on the heavy flavored side, still pretty good. Excellent service!
Good Italian fare in a central location. Made reservations while visiting. Reservations were early-before seven on a weekday. Place was busy. We are placed in an area by the service entrance between bar and kitchen. Busy area with people standing by. Server was polite and knew plenty about the menu. Food came out to order. Tried a couple salads and pasta dishes. Everything was good. Finished up with cannoli and tiramisu. A good choice for Italian food.
It you are craving upscale Italian food, this is the place. The food is fresh and portions are just right. Great place for a date or family meal. Good selection of wine, deserts and gelato.
Fantastic food. Excellent service. Yes, there is a long wait to get seated during peak dinner hours, but worth it. We got seated right away since we were ok with sitting out front.
The octopus appetizer is delicious, tender, and covered in a spicy tomato sauce.
Ilario was our waiter and did a perfect job along with his assistant serving our table. Can't wait to go back!
2023 update: they get really busy and don't take reservations. So during peak times (Fri/Sat ~6-9pm), expect to wait 1.5-2hrs to get a table.
My favorite restaurant in town! If I listed all the reasons, id be here for days. Let’s just say their ambiance is amazing and their food is incredible. I recommend their butternut squash raviolis in a buttery cream sauce 🤤🫣I’m not usually a butternut squash fan, but I crave that dish daily. My boyfriend doesn’t care for shrimp…really ever, but won’t stop talking about the shrimp scampi when someone brings up Giuseppe’s. It’s his favorite dish they have. I have a couple friends that have worked there and I’m continually impressed the more I learn about the integrity of their dishes. Their drinks never disappoint especially the espresso martini, it’s the best in town! Don’t get me started on their carrot cake. It’s a family recipe and it’s to die for. Overall, It’s a perfect date night considering the locations…and now i must go after writing this review 🤦♀️
