My boyfriend and I were in the mood to try something different from our usual dinner choices. We've seen Mana after eating at a nearby Chinese restaurant. We have been wanting to give it a try since then. Mana is a family-owned, Filipino restaurant with a very friendly and helpful owner/manager. Nien guided us through the menu, pointing out the restaurant's house specialties. With Nien's recommendations and visual help from our neighboring tables, we ordered an appetizer of vegetarian lumpiang made with egg crepes; squash pumpkin with green beans, chicken, and shrimp in coconut sauce; and grilled lemongrass-skewered chicken with sweet & sour sauce (my new favorite chicken dish -- so tender and delish!). For dessert, we were intrigued by all the orders of purple and green ice cream with jelly in large glass-mugs around us. The purple yam (I think it's taro) with coconut cream was so yummy, it had me scraping the bottom and licking my lips! It was a nice way to top off an amazing meal. We're definitely glad we walked into Mana, tonight. Thanks for all your and your chef's delicious creations, Nien!
Good service and guidance in Philipino food.
